It's not like there are a ton of shopping choices in Hobbs, America…read more Kountry Korral Boutique was around when I lived in this Southeastern New Mexico town many years ago, and it's still surviving the ups and downs of the oil and gas economy that Hobbs depends on as well as COVID-19. I miss the Tea Room that once was next door, but now it is a different cafe... Outlaw Grill or something. My uncle really enjoyed his ginormous, overpriced green chile burger there recently. I haven't partaken, but back to the boutique... This place offers baby and wedding registries. Many of the items are fairly unique. The clothes, in my humble opinion, are simply overpriced and more geared to more mature ladies. ;) Definitely not my styles or fit. The staff members always have the place open! They rarely IF AT ALL close to set up for Christmas debuts like *cough cough* another place *Horsefeathers* did when I was mostly recently shopping (10/28/20). That's why they get my full 5 star love. TIPS + love their little lotions by "Camille" (tiny jar $1.50)... rare that I see my middle name on anything let alone boutique items + they have GOOD aromatherapy roll-ons ($12 each)! #ThankYouThursday

Not much has changed at this smal town JCPenney since I was little…read more I found a couple of athletic hoodies for my elementary level kiddos, but just browsing through the women's section there was not anything for my taste. It was mainly geared towards older women. I know I'm supposedly "high risk" according to my OB/GYN, but dang I'm not ready to be these clothes old. The whole store from the outside to the mannequins (see my photo from 11/15/2023) is worn out. Literally! The sweate on said mannequin was falling off and had holes and tear in it! The employees and the security guard seemed nice. I'm glad the hoodies were discounted at 35% off the original price because it wouldn't be worth it to me otherwise. I'm shocked this is the Hobbs' sore, I mean, store.

It is with great concern for your business that I bring this customer complaint to your organization, as it seems that your Department Store Supervision (Denise Woods, Supervisor during my ordeal 11/22/15 6:05 PM) has no problem with showing an utter lack of concern for customer service or resolution as a tactic to ward off customer complaints. I entered the above JC Penney location maybe 15-20 minutes before closing. My wife and I continued shopping without noticing that the store had closed. My wife had about $60.00 of merchandise chosen for purchase. On two occasions I had different employees tell us in a rude manner that the store had closed (10 mins after closing). On the first occasion the employee stated, "we may not 'even' be able to pay for our purchases" (I believe hinting that we should leave the items and vacate the store). On the second occasion an employee felt the need to eavesdrop the conversation my wife and I were having about the ordeal as we walked up to the registers and felt the need to interject a reiteration of the store's closing time. Unbelieveable! I still went ahead and made the purchase but brought up my concerns. The cashiers showed very little concern for my plight, but I made the purchase anyway. The "straw" of the whole situation was that upon trying to exit the store, the doors were locked and not one of the six employees on the store floor came to help me until I asked for the manager. Well, the manager came up to the store-front with the key. I tried to bring up my concern about my treatment in the store and her response was to open the front door and reiterate the stores hours and the fact that they are posted at the front entrance. By this point I was so upset by the continued mistreatment from the staff, which included the management that I asked if I could return my items. Without blinking an eye, the manager ordered one of her employees to execute the transaction, which left me in awe of the customer service strategy I was just witnessing-save face by not caring at all. The ordeal was so upsetting to everyone that one of the employees, ironically enough, told me that if I was going to send a complaint, to inform you that they needed new computers. WOW! This situation could have been defused by a simple apology, as all I wanted was appreciation for being a customer and to be treated courteously. Instead of I got this treatment. Make of it what you will, but it will be a long time before I think about setting foot in any of your stores.

Bootsie's is the absolute best western wear store in Hobbs, NM…read more Mainly because of their service and vast selection of boots. I love the ladies who work here - always willing to help me pick out the best for my liking. Back on 10/06/2023 I bought a new belt ($55.41 including tax) to wear doing cowboy work with my man in Southern Colorado. I've been wearing it at least twice per week since then -- it's great quality! My mom bought my daughters some Ariat jeans here that almost immediately got tears and holes. I am not a fan of Ariat anything, so be warned... Their Wranglers have held up much better. That's my two cents, y'all!

My first ever visit there was 1.17.2025. There was an exceedingly small section for girls sizes 8-18. The plus women's sizes engulfed half of the store. There were women's petite sizes and "regular" sizes on the other half. No one assisted my daughter when she tried a top on nor were the employees welcoming or particularly friendly. The dressing rooms were open, though. They had cute jewelry, belts, purses, shoes, tumblers, and sunglasses too. I walked away with a pair of dangling beaded LOVE earrings for $10.65, Made in India. Organized, clean store. Just disappointed in lack of size availability for me and my daughters plus the absence of high caliber customer service.

Vintage Soul Mini Mall is an adorable boutique with new and vintage gift items…read more My oldest daughter and I popped in on their soft opening on 5.1.2025. I was so excited to learn that the owner of the previous business still owns this building and has really cool stuff still. These are vintage items, not antiques. I'm vintage. Or so I like to tell my kids since I was "borns in the 1900s." Bruh. *face palm* They had cookies & lemonade for us to enjoy while we perused the multiple small rooms of items. She has some women's clothing, jewelry, tumblers, and so much more. Adorable shop! Very affordable prices! Support local businesses. If the parking is filled up front, there are more spaces around the back. PS - thanks for giving my daughter stickers to put on Mr. Man. Lol. Dollar Tree is the best dollar store in Lovington, NM…read more It's probably also the newest if I remember correctly. Compared to Family Dollar and Dollar General which are both also within a short drive, DT was way cleaner and organized. The employees were friendly and communicative on 8.2.2025. They currently have school supplies, some Halloween, and fall items up front for easier access. Love their Hallmark card selections.
