Acqua is a pretty great spot to get your hair did in Guelph. It is an Aveda concept salon as well,…read morewhich comes along with a set of ideals and products that give the place a neat feel. Haircuts come with complimentary hot towel, scalp massage, and beverage (coffee/delicious herbal tea/Hot apple cider + spiced rum if you're lucky). I'm a guy so my haircuts aren't as complicated as many of the people reading this might be getting, but i can say that even for a simple "guy" cut, the stylists I have had take great care and have great attention to detail nonetheless. I have never been disappointed. Melissa is my regular hairdresser, but I'm sure the rest of the stylists are of the same calibre. I pay upwards of $25 for my haircut + wash. If you're a student, make sure to mention it, as there's a discount for this.

My roommate just went to get her hair done here and from her experience and how she was treated I…read morewould advise anyone to stay away from this place. She made an appointment over the phone clearly stating her budget and when she arrived she was quoted $450 for brown balayage, toner, and a cut. That is ridiculous!!! When she said she was not able to pay that, they offered to balayage her hair WITHOUT A TONER, for $300. They then went on to explain that a toner would be $80 extra and a cut $75 extra!! I would have walked out right away. That is not right in any way and you can tell they only care about the money and not about their clients. These people were about to let her walk out of there with untoned, wet hair before they offered a "complimentary" blowout. If they can let a client walk out of their salon with out toning their hair and at least drying it, that puts their reputation on the line as well and they so obviously do not care. TONER SHOULD BE INCLUDED ANY TIME HAIR IS BLEACHED. DO NOT GO HERE.

I had a deeply disappointing experience with Oro Salon, specifically with Kristina. When I booked…read moremy bridal hair trial, I clearly stated I needed appointments for myself, my mother, and my mother-in-law, but she only booked two of us, making me feel at fault. I looked at the messages to confirm 3 people were booked. During the appointment, kristina left several times to attend other clients, which was frustrating, especially for a bridal trial that dosent require any pauses to let thing "set" so styling my hair took longer than necessary. I did not feel like a priority during my appointment, which is extremely frustrating and concerning as this was an appointment for my bridal hair. I showed her a photo of a sleek, small bun and made it very clear that I wanted something small simplistic and pulled back as I don't like anything large.(see photo 1) The result was extremely disappointing as it was a large, messy style bun. (see photo 2-4) When I brought this up she said my hair was the issue but only after she had already done the wrong style. I was very open to cutting my hair if needed and gave many opportunities during the appointment to set my expectation that we won't be able to achieve the hairstyle that I was hoping to achieve. I did also let her know the reason I was here today was because I had my bridal shower that evening and wanted to have my hair done for that. After a second attempt for my hair, it was closer to what I wanted, but still not right. By the time I drove home (just 20 minutes), the second hairstyle was already falling apart so much so I ended up having to wash my hair and redo it for my evening event. (see photo 5-7) In addition, my mother and mother-in-law were also unhappy with their styles. After emailing my concerns and giving her a better understanding of why I no longer felt comfortable or confident proceeding with her services, and requesting a refund not of the work she did but just the deposit for the wedding hair (especially given the ample time before my wedding), she refused a refund and only offered a partial gift card that had so many restrictions including: non-transferable, only toward salon services, expiring December 2026. Overall, this salon was poorly managed, unprofessional, had poor communication and an inability to follow client inspiration. I would not recommend them for bridal or any services.

Missed mutplie spot of hair, had to ask to do more after looking in the mirror. Also had to ask her to use toner, which still wasn't enough. 30 second hair washes don't do the best job either!! Sorry to say but after getting the same thing for years, I know what I'm talking about even though I'm a man!! When i have to ask the stylist to things she should already know, it gets kind of difficult to even think about returning!!!! Could have done yellow hair myself.
