I had Mary as my hair care proffesional and she was extremely attentive to what I wanted but also used the upmost caution in maintaining the integrity of my hair. We not only discussed our initial visit, but a long term hair care plan to get me to the level of blonde I desire with the least damage and maximum growth possible. Not only Mary, but all of the other hair care professionals that I could overhear were very friendly, appropriate and mild mannered. The salon is small but at maximum functionality and great use of space. Everything is well organized and clean. The girl who normally does my hair no longer works at this salon. After a couple of trial and…read moreerrors, she knew exactly what I wanted and did a phenomenal job. I was a bit nervous when I was advised that someone else would be doing my hair at my next appointment and would follow the prior girl's instructions. Long story short, the right side of my hair has high/low lights, the left side and back of my hair has straight color and my hair looked like straw. Moreover, when I lifted my hair I noticed that I still had major black roots in the back. The whole experience from the wash to the final comb out was abysmal. I complained to the manager/owner who initially agreed to do my hair over for me. However, when I stated that I still had dark roots in the back, she got mad and said that "they clearly would never make me happy and she would remove me from their client's list." Very disappointing for an Adler salon.....the customer's satisfaction clearly isn't this manager/owner's priority and the final product was not worthy of what they charge!!!! When you're a retired widow you spend money wisely and do not appreciate poor customer service.

Their scheduling process is not set up right either it can still be up to a 45 minute wait even with check in, and sometimes one can just drop in and get a cut right away. It's a game of haircut roulette at these places I'm telling you.. And for the kind of money they charge you'd think their quality would be more consistent.

So I did some research and called various spas in town, not wanting to go some place that wasn't clean and professional and a true spa experience, not wanting to spend a fortune, and knowing it also had to be some place that miraculously had openings less than eight hours later. A co-worker mentioned Southwest Hair & Day Spa because his friend is a masseuse here. I called and they were able to squeeze us in at a perfect time. The outside may look like a pink house, but the inside is large and decorated in kind of a mix of traditional and contemporary decor. The ladies all seemed very friendly and they offer everything from hair to massages to nail services to skin care. They have tons of products for sale as well. I had a pedicure (my first ever) with Joelle (who is a sweetheart) and it was spectacular! They take you into a private room, put you in a massage chair, then put your feet in a warm water massaging jet tub thing, then she did everything to make my feet soft and pretty. It is a relaxing, fun experience! My friend had a manicure and said it was wonderful as well. They also gave us goodie bags loaded with coupons! They have been in business 12 years and were super busy while we were there, so I imagine everything they do is great. They were so nice and welcoming and I can't wait to go back!
