Just a…read morelittle over 4 weeks ago, I got the worst cut of my life, NOT from Modern Hair, but another establishment that shall remain anonymous. Now before you think me cheap, it was not a "quick hit and cut" it was a rather established location. I'd previously been there and was well pleased. My regular stylist had to remove me from her books for blatant cancellation violations, look, I work hard, sometimes long and I'm a mom first, my boys take up a lot of time. I cancelled 3 times over the course of 4 months-- but that is neither here nor there-- I'm here to talk about the wonderfulness that is ModernHair. I'm no stranger to Janet, the owner/operator. My aunts go to her on a routine basis for hair trims and eyebrow arching. I'm familiar with her work, so I felt comfortable making an appointment. I called Tuesday and requested an appointment today and she fit me right in. Her shop was clean and simple. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but I felt extremely comfortable. Janet is a pure professional. She cleaned her tools, dried them, and commenced to tell where were the last stylist had me messed up. She let me see, via front and back mirror where the left turn was taken on my last cut. I needed to have 1.5 inches removed to get my cut back in balance and even it all out. I wasn't upset, I had already looked in my mirror at home for the last 4 weeks, let's be honest, I knew 4 weeks ago. Janet was professional in her tone(very heavy accent- but she was succinct in her explanation of what needed to be done). She let me know as she was trimming what she was doing and what she thought the affects would be. She informed me my hair was healthy and an 8 week trim schedule moving forward would suffice. I'm pleased with today's results.

Hands down. If I'm sad, tired, fat, thin, hyper, cold, hot, whatever it is, he takes his time to make sure I leave feeling happy and healthy again. I have had better therapy in Contoure than in fancy-schmancy spas in Chicago, Carmel, New York, Cleveland, Columbus, Bloomington, Dallas, etc. etc. etc....even FIRENZE, for crying out loud. I've been going to him since middle school and now have graduated college. You can be darn sure he goes on any awards thank-you list I ever have to compose. But, then again, I may be the one who's calling cues when one of his DAUGHTERS wins an award. You never know what you'll find in Fort Wayne...

And...I got one. This facility doesn't require a face mask - nicely done! Upon arriving I didn't check in on line. This seemed to throw the team for a loop. However they figured out how to handle my walk in. I didn't have to wait as there was no one waiting. Perhaps this helps my rating more than it should. My stylist was very new to cutting hair. She asked a lot of questions and took her time. She double checked her work thoroughly. The manager was good at stopping by and giving the stylist some pointers. Ultimately she did an excellent job! Being my first time I got to experience a shampoo and neck/back massage. The shampoo is nice. The products smelled nice and left my hair soft and falling into place. The massage was okay. The stylist used a large device to vibrate the muscles. I don't I would really choose to pay for the shampoo and massage next time. Overall the experience was nice. The cut and customer service was excellent. The cut is expensive compared to some other places. Give it a try.
