They fail to advertise that this location is an exception to that rule, and you'd have to look into their specific website apparently to find that out. I also had no notice, despite detailed monthly billing statements, informing me when the promo I signed up on was ending and the sudden doubled bill came as a shock. Please note that if you are even a little late on your bill, they will harass you with emails, texts and constant calls, so it is very reasonable to expect that at least a note of increase would be added to the last promotional bill. I submitted a Better Business Bureau complaint in the summer of 2025 after the Manager at this location, Rinkje, refused to do anything in line with any sort of customer service. Now, in February 2026 (6 months later) I finally got in touch with the Senior Manager, Michael Hu, who proceeded to cut me off, yell at me, and tell me there is absolutely no repair they are willing to make for the fees I incurred due to their advertising while blaming me, the consumer, for their mistakes as a company. I have a recording that I will be submitting to news organizations of Michael Hu, a grown man, raising his voice and cutting off a young woman who wanted her concerns addressed after 6 months of no resolution or response. BBB themselves told me they had a hard time getting in touch with this business, but according to Michael Hu, he "tried to contact me right away". They continue to refuse any sort of resolution.

Immediately i reported the crime, i waited for the police for 3 hours than they called me and said let's have an officer come another day because they were busy...wtf. So i turned towards the manager for help to further investigate the surveillance and hectic i will sit and watch the videos with them. They said, "NO!" and i also knew they weren't going to do anything after i left... FML i lost over $30k worth of photography equipments and Storagemart and Police did not give a fk. I knew i wasn't getting back the items i worked 3 years to purchase. Storagemart had mandatory insurance all customers must purchase. As much as i didn't care about $1400 i was supposed to receive from insurance because it was such a small return to what i had lost, it was at least something to help me start from scratch. Eventually after talking to the insurance for few days they finally got back to me for how much i will get getting. They said, "Hey you will receive $0 because there were no forced break in or no damages." You can tell the person is used to saying that because she had no emotions and was straight blunt about it.... This was hard for me to write down and remember not just because i was robbed but the police who we should be able to depend on in this situation and the storage company who was in charge, both weren't willing to help at all or even willing to let me help them either. Over the week I called 4 times, never reaching a live person, having to leave voice message Each time. Was finally contacted to say claim was submitted and being processed. Two weeks later no contact again from anyone. Over the following two weeks 4 phone calls were not returned. Called a 5th time, only this time I went to the sales line, which is always manned by a live person. And as expected, call was immediately answered by a live agent in Customer Service, where again, I left a message requesting a callback from the Ajax location to call me. Message was delivered Thursday June 18 approx 2pm. Will update when I receive my callback.

I had two storage units at this facility. The climate controlled ones are great. Clean and easy to use and get to. Also had two outdoor units and they were problem-free. After one year of having all my items in the units here, everything came out just as I had placed it in there. Zero issues. All items kept safe n' sound. If I ever need storage again, I will certainly go here! Hope to never need it again though. 5++++ stars!!
