4th & Yamhill- This SmartPark has tighter spaces than the 10th & Yamhill, however on a Saturday, the floors above 4 were mostly vacant. So we were able to park higher floors with many open spaces. Elevator on the East side was clean as was the parking area. Looks nice and saw uniformed security patrols on several floors as we entered and exited. We were charged $7 and there were 3 exit lanes, so no wait at 5 pm. We paid before going up to the car, so exiting was just a stub scan. If the spaces were a bit wider, it would have been 5 star from us. read more

TOURISTS- DO NOT PARK YOUR CAR IN THESE LOTS AT NIGHT. These lots are not patrolled. Our car was parked at night and they shattered the window even though there was clearly nothing in our car to take. a headache and $500 to get the glass replaced (sameday). TONS of other out of state cars broken into as well. Hotel employee says it happens every night. City of Portland homeless situation is really bad, its a problem that they cant fix, they AT LEAST should have a company patrol the lots 1-2 times per night to deter crime to help protect tourist business. I got a validation ticket and didn't realize that there were two together so the machine by the elevators kept rejecting it. I pushed the button and a lady told me to try at the actual exit. I did and obviously it didn't work so I ended up stuck waiting for help with all these people behind me. Very stressful. Tip, if you get a validation ticket at the saturday market make sure to check as they are thin and I had no idea there were too. Like Smartpark garages as they are convenient to events I want to attend downtown. When trying to exit the one on 10th Street they used to have signs directing people to always turn right, however, now they removed those and exiting is a nightmare (waiting 1 hour to exit is not okay) because of those that butt in going the wrong way AND please fix the elevators. It's debatable if it was a "smart" decision to attempt to find parking downtown in the first place, but if you're down there with a car, it costs more in both time and stress to feed the meter than it does to pull in to one of the many smart parks. Specifically designed for short term needs, these garages are only $1.25 an hour if you're there for less than 4 hours, and if you spend $25 at nearly any store downtown - validation baby! $2 after 6pm? Why do I continue to waste so much time circling the streets of downtown Portland looking for expensive parallel parking when I can just pop into a covered Smart Park lot, and (usually) save -- not spend -- money for the convenience. I like the angled parking spots in this lot - feels bigger than the lot next door. Also, the ramp to exit is exclusive in that direction, no bumping into cars headed in while I am on my way out. It seems like hardly anywhere validates. I'm sure some businesses do, but I've never been to them. read more

The Smart Park is always my go to place when searching for a place to park downtown. The garage is designed to be a short term solution for your parking needs which typically when I'm downtown I plan to be short term. So, at $1.50 an hour for the first four hours today. I found it to be a deal. I looked at the handy sign they have on the outside that tells you how many parking spaces are left. There were over 150 left when I went in and 58 when I was getting ready to leave. A busy day downtown. Quick in and out. Bummer that Huber's doesn't validate but as I wasn't there for long it was $3 so I really can't complain. I'll be back when I need a cheap and nice place to park. read more

Had to walk down several flights of stairs and all the way around the building to pay when it was time to retrieve my car. Smart Park can be really convenient when you need to park downtown. It's comparable to meter prices, so instead of hunting for a spot it's easy to just zoom in here. There are periods where the parking will be full. I most often notice this on Friday nights. There was also one time where the machine that hands out tickets was malfunctioning. We were stuck for around 10 minutes and the service person on the intercom was extremely rude. The person who came out to physically help was rude as well! I love the fish and decorations in the garage. Keep track of where you are. I have a good sense of direction but I routinely get confused when exiting since there are two spots where you can leave. read more

I wasn't familiar with the machine & was not putting my card in correctly, I'm so sorry I didn't get it!! The attendant was actually speaking with a friend who was holding up the other line & wasn't happy that I was requesting help. He kept yelling at me "I can see you're not putting the card in the right way"....I told him he wasn't being helpful..as I was the one not seeing what I was doing wrong...he was just rude. This is such a convenient place to park in the middle of downtown Portland. It is safe and massive (multiple floors). Whenever we stay a weekend at a hotel, we always park our cars here since we end up paying somewhere around $15 for the entire weekend whereas the hotel we were staying in charged $30 a night for valet! Ridiculous. I'm glad we found this place, it is now our default parking spot whenever we're in the area. read more

This garage looks large, right price, etc. However, staying in the Hotel Monaco next door, all evening long all we heard were screeching tires - and we could see cars whipping around the corners at a high rate of speed. Either there were some people joyriding cars up and down the garage for an hour, or there were some valets having some fun... hopefully neither, looks dangerous. read more

Info was not consistent online, but calling in clarified and was consistent with what we experienced in person. I was able to leave my car there from Saturday lunch time to Monday morning for less than $15 while staying in Portland for an event. Way cheaper than parking at the hotel, secure and convenient. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you are visiting Portland and staying at a nearby hotel. You can park here for 24 hours during weekends for $12 and weekdays for $17. Beats the $30+ parking at the hotels any day. For evening/overnight parking, it says you need to be out by 5am but you can leave your car there and it will just add on the charge for the following day rate. We even left our car there at 3pm one day until about 11am the next day which means we paid a partial rate for the first day, an evening rate, and a partial day rate for the 2nd day and the total was $17. Parked on the 6th floor of the parking garage my first day in Portland. I was on a road trip for a work conference and hadn't had a chance to check into my hotel yet so I had my luggage with me, but it was hidden from the general public view. I came back from being at the conference for 4 hours to find my car had been broken into. My driver seat window was smashed, they left the weapon they used to break it and all my stuff scattered on the ground, my luggage gone, along with my cooler, sleeping bag, backpack, etc. (Luckily I had kept my most expensive items with me). They had rummaged through my glove compartment, I believe they were trying to find proof of ownership of the vehicle to try to steal it. There are no cameras anywhere in this parking garage and the man ( a security guard) and women working at the ticket booth at the entrance were clueless that there was even a break in and just looked confused when I told them that my car had been broken into. In order to steal all my stuff it would have had to been obvious walking around and trying to bring all the stuff down the stairway or exit or a car must have been driving around for what I have been told, out of state license plates, and targeted my car. If you are from out of state, be careful parking here and look into Portland's crime records especially about stolen cars. read more

Warning--Smart Park becomes Dumb Park if you're a minute over four hours. I went to see a long movie with friends, then a brief lunch afterwards. To my surprise, my parking fee was $14.00!!!! I could have parked at a real parking garage all day for $9.95. I always used to opt for the Smart Park, but no longer. Also, they no longer accept cash, so be prepared to pay with a credit card. read more

Star park recently upgrading the ways to pay to make it easier and faster. However, aside from the reduced staff, the raised their prices today. They went from 12.50 a day to 15.00 a day. I can go up a couple of block and pay 10.25 for day. I will not be parking here anymore. read more
