John answered his phone on my first call and stopped by my home within a few hours for a free consultation/inspection. While my request wasn't urgent I truly appreciate his responsiveness and timeliness. Good news! The stucco front is in great shape with only one small surface crack which we can easily repair ourselves with stucco putty. He pointed out a few small gaps between our windows and wood frames and made the suggestion to fill those in with caulking to avoid potential water leakage when it rains. That was nice friendly advice and again, something we can do ourselves or hire a basic handy person. JVP could have easily tried to take advantage of what probably could be perceived as a naive person (although I would never let that happen...have another company scheduled to do the same inspection) but instead was honest, professional and really informative. I know home repair reviews aren't the most exciting to read, but Yelp is my first go to place for everything. I want to make sure JVP gets the credit and consideration it deserves.

I've also learned from experience that (sometimes) someone's competition will use these sites to "blast" them if they feel it necessary. Looking at comments below here's what I can say from my numerous jobs with Matt and his crew. I've never had one problem..... I'm a real estate investor and have 6 rental properties. Being a woman, I'm very selective and very picky. I keep my properties looking good and go over and above in an attempt to keep long term tenants. I do all things concrete. Matt knows I ask all kinds of questions "before" starting a job so as to know what to expect. I'll know if it will be noisy, I'll know if I need to cover up my landscaping or anything else, etc. In other words, I take responsibility and ASK all necessary questions so that I know what's coming and can prepare my tenants and my property. Matt has done everything from concrete patios, big and small driveways, driveway aprons for me and not once was I disappointed. I asked them to remove and replace my sidewalk, they removed and raised it 4 inches which has changed my entire yard. They moved all of the mud and debris into my gravel driveway turning it into a mud hole flowing into my garage. In the middle of pouring the concrete they realized the sidewalk was too high to be able to close my storm door so they made a last minute adjustment, now I have a dip in my sidewalk. My shed doors won't open all the way. There is more but needless to say their attention to detail leaves a lot to be desired. Almost forgot, they ran out of concrete towards the end and had to order a new batch that started chipping in the first week. I have called dozens of times, texted and emailed with little to no response. I do not recommend Optimus Concrete.
