They called ahead of time (two hour window - they arrived a little early!) They were professional and thorough - it looks great, and I feel like it's one more "house item" checked off that's not going to stress me out. Original review below: This is my initial review - I am working with Justin Swegart. I made this appointment what feels like forever ago - and 1. he texted me he was on his way 2. arrived almost on the dot during the scheduled window (c'mon, we all know that's a rough arrival time when they have multiple clients, right?) For Justin: he was friendly, he was clear about the options, and communicated everything out as far as "what needs done," "what's in good shape," and "things to keep an eye on." He didn't push upselling, didn't push me to spend an extra $4k on work that wasn't necessary, he gave us all the options to make an informed decision. He explained the processes, the materials used, and didn't try to get overly technical or litter with terminology to make it seem fancier than it is. I felt more educated in just talking with him! So I've made my deposit with them (thanks to Justin). I'll update this as the contract moves forward!

I had JVP do an inspection and provide a quote (if needed) of the stucco front on my new home…read more Since I've never worked with stucco before I just wanted to make sure everything was solid and nothing in need of repair or concern. John answered his phone on my first call and stopped by my home within a few hours for a free consultation/inspection. While my request wasn't urgent I truly appreciate his responsiveness and timeliness. Good news! The stucco front is in great shape with only one small surface crack which we can easily repair ourselves with stucco putty. He pointed out a few small gaps between our windows and wood frames and made the suggestion to fill those in with caulking to avoid potential water leakage when it rains. That was nice friendly advice and again, something we can do ourselves or hire a basic handy person. JVP could have easily tried to take advantage of what probably could be perceived as a naive person (although I would never let that happen...have another company scheduled to do the same inspection) but instead was honest, professional and really informative. I know home repair reviews aren't the most exciting to read, but Yelp is my first go to place for everything. I want to make sure JVP gets the credit and consideration it deserves.

They are very friendly, knowledgeable, and VERY professional. I hired them on the spot. I couldn't be happier with the work performed and the service provided. I hope if I ever need them again it will be for upgrading, not repairing!, but they will be the ONLY company I call.

Showed up first thing the next morning for the demolition of old section of driveway. Everything was picked up and cleaned up prior to doing next phase. Next day they set the forms first thing in the morning. Concrete was delivered between 1000-1100. His crew was great, ensuring they kept the area cleaned up. They went so far as covering the driveway with plastic when it started sprinkling. Great job and the price was right.

He said it was because I "drove on it with salt on the wheels" (yes, it's a DRIVEWAY.) Turns out he cured it with too much water, and the surface spalled. After unsuccessfully trying to get him to stand by his work, I had to pay another contractor $7000 to replace the driveway and most of the city sidewalk. Jeff Beard does BAD WORK and isn't decent enough to stand by it. DO NOT use him.

I write reviews all the time, anyone I do business with if I feel it necessary…read more I use Yelp, Google, Yellow Pages, etc. before I commit to doing a big job or if I've had rotten lousy service somewhere. I've also learned from experience that (sometimes) someone's competition will use these sites to "blast" them if they feel it necessary. Looking at comments below here's what I can say from my numerous jobs with Matt and his crew. I've never had one problem..... I'm a real estate investor and have 6 rental properties. Being a woman, I'm very selective and very picky. I keep my properties looking good and go over and above in an attempt to keep long term tenants. I do all things concrete. Matt knows I ask all kinds of questions "before" starting a job so as to know what to expect. I'll know if it will be noisy, I'll know if I need to cover up my landscaping or anything else, etc. In other words, I take responsibility and ASK all necessary questions so that I know what's coming and can prepare my tenants and my property. Matt has done everything from concrete patios, big and small driveways, driveway aprons for me and not once was I disappointed. He did what he said he'd do and/or what I requested in our many conversations before work began. He and his crew do outstanding work, he's reasonably priced and I'd never call anyone else.

I asked them to remove and replace my sidewalk, they removed and raised it 4 inches which has changed my entire yard. They moved all of the mud and debris into my gravel driveway turning it into a mud hole flowing into my garage. In the middle of pouring the concrete they realized the sidewalk was too high to be able to close my storm door so they made a last minute adjustment, now I have a dip in my sidewalk. My shed doors won't open all the way. There is more but needless to say their attention to detail leaves a lot to be desired. Almost forgot, they ran out of concrete towards the end and had to order a new batch that started chipping in the first week. I have called dozens of times, texted and emailed with little to no response. I do not recommend Optimus Concrete.
