A few times a stylist would look up at me and smile, but no one asked if I needed assistance at all. Needless to say I left and spent my money elsewhere! A few months later my hair was looking shabby and I needed to get a wuick fix. I was right down the road from Garbo's and thought I should give them another shot. I called and the owner John answered the phone and was very polite. He went out of his way to set an appointment for me later that same day. This time I walked in and was greeted by John! He is just as friendly in person as he was over the phone. I ended up getting a cut, color and style. The stylist was very exuberant and did not force me to follow the styles she was suggesting. Which is highly annoying! My hair looked amazing not only when I walked out of the door, but weeks later. I will be going back....actually that reminds me- I need to call them to schedule an appointment right now!

The reception girl was very sweet and warm... all the people that I encountered were friendly. They were not snobby or rude at all. It's a real girls girl salon environment. A lot of the salons that I have encountered throughout my career as a hairstylist as well as getting my hair done in DFW area feel like walking into a mean girls club and you can always sense drama and tension, but this was not that way. I asked for curtain bangs and the fact that she didn't know how to do it and asked other stylists if she should accept me and they said yes I blame the whole salon for my experience and do not recommend coming here at all. I asked for a trim and the girl that was doing my hair confirmed with me an inch to be taken off... my hair was barely cut and I still have terrible dead ends. Once it came time for my bangs she asked help from a third girl who was frustrated that she even needed help. She came over instructed how to cut text book curtain bangs and cut way too short. It's just even more aggravating that this happened to me considering the original stylist my stylist was asking advice from had spoke with me about my textured hair which I was aware of (I mean it's my pride and joy.) and then all of a sudden my texture wasn't taken into consideration when actually cutting my hair. I asked for my hair to be styled and as you can see in the pictures they did so... in the front. Because they didn't care about me after they realized they f*cked up.. they let me walk out of the salon with my whole back side still wet. They didn't finish styling my hair, they didn't cut enough dead ends off and they cut too much off on my bangs. They didn't get a single thing done right. I was just a waist of time and a waist of space to them especially as soon as they figured out they would have to not charge me for their f*ck up. I now don't know what to do with my hair besides maybe get a proper trim. I have also included a picture of my hair prior to show that I had the perfect pallet for this style and knew that if done properly I could still rock my curls like I do on the daily. Now if I want to even remotely want to look decent I have to style my hair on the daily, on hair that is still dead on the ends!

I drive 40 min to the salon and get there 10 min early. She is washing someone elses hair and hasn't started the cut yet. Jennifer then comes over to me and tells me she is running an hour behind. She asks if I have something else to do while I wait. Umm, no. I am 40 min from my neighborhood and planned my day around this hair cut. I am new to TX and haven't had my hair cut in a few months and really need a hair cut. I wait the hour and then go sit in the chair to tell her what I want. She tells me she is running behind because she woke up not feeling well. Ok, I understand people get sick- call your client! Take 2 min and leave a voice mail that your appt will be an hour later. Give the client the choice to either cancel or come in later. While getting my hair cut she is talking to me about dying my hair and mentions she is a color specialist and can dye my hair. Im waiting to see how the haircut turns out before I decide anything else. I got a new client deal that was a little cheaper for a cut but still expensive. With tip it was $48 for a wash, cut, and blow dry with a round brush. My hair is short, right above shoulder length. Anyway, we get to the cut I show her the photo(a neck length bob, not a drastic A line but very slightly angled in the back, a popular cut right now.) and I had had a similar cut in the past but it was grown out. I had some damage from my hair being blonde. I told her I wanted a minimum of 1 inch off and if needed 2 inches was ok. She said she would do that and do a few long layers to help with volume. People, I ended up with layers right below my eyes, a weird shag type haircut and then she round brushed it. I ended up looking like Monica Lewinsky from 1998. I was so disappointed. Now I have to grow it all back out and Im stuck with it because to fix it would mean cutting it really short. I fear if my hair grows half an inch I will have a mullet.
