This was a complex project where we had to remove a lot of existing mixed flooring, deal with leveling costs creatively and work around our family while we lived in the space. The crew was exceptional. When there was problems that required creative solutions they figured out how to stay on budget and made custom flooring adapters to cover specific spacing issues. All of the flooring and baseboard install was done incredibly well. I still see little details where I'm impressed at the level of craftmanship they applied to getting tight corners, hitting rounds and hard angles. The floor has been in for some time now and we had absolutely no follow on issues.

We knew that we needed an expert to complete the job without the risk of damaging them. We had a difficult decision to make and for this project, we obtained 7 quotes. After looking into each of the companies through the CSLB website, we found out that only four of them had a valid contractors license. We felt very comfortable with George, the owner of Jace. He has vast knowledge of hardwood floors with years of experience, has a friendly demeanor, and is a fellow dog rescuer. One of the other reviews mentions a customer's satisfaction with Jace's refinishing of their 100 years old floors. Though his quote was not the lowest, we chose quality over price. And we are so happy we did. Carlos, the lead tech on our project is also very knowledgeable and approachable. He answered all of our questions, and explained everything they were doing throughout the various stages of the process. Carlos's assistant, Jair is friendly and a hard worker. After the work was completed, Mike came to inspect the work, and grout the transition from our Dining Room to our kitchen. I didn't even have to ask them to do this. George suggested it to replace the ugly molding that was previously there, and on which we would frequently stub our toes. Mike returned a second time to drop off a complementary Bona cleaning kit. From the initial Yelp request to the finish of our project, George and his team were stellar, exceeding our expectations. Our floors look amazing, as if they were newly installed! We added on a 200 sq foot master closet room and originally went to G & A to look at carpeting for the new closet. Not only did Brandon spend a lot of time with us on the carpet (which was a small job), he inquired if there was anything else they could assist with. We quickly learned that G & A does not just specialize in flooring, they provide a wide variety of services. In addition to carpeting, we needed painting, stone for countertops and expanded our project to replacing the tile in our laundry room (a long want on my wish list). I got 5 bids for painting and when combining all the above services, Brandon came in with the most competitive pricing. We went with G & A and are so happy that we did. I never felt like he was trying to upsell us and we felt their prices were very fair. In fact, Brandon offered us options with the stone that were more economical than other brands. Brandon was with us every step of the way! When the tile I picked out for the laundry room was discontinued, he found one very similar which I ended up liking better anyways. When they started the laundry room project, while removing the old baseboards, there was an issue with some of the drywall. Brandon quickly stepped in and had one of his guys perform drywall repair right away so as to not stall the project. They removed and reinstalled the washer/dryer as well. They also updated the 20 year old baseboards to match the rest of the house. All of G & A's laborers that worked in our home were courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. Brandon kept us advised every step of the way. I STRONGLY recommend G & A for any home improvement needs you may have and don't forget, they do way more than flooring! I am attaching some photos of the closet where they laid carpeting and installed quartz, the tile & painting in the laundry room and the painting of the living room/foyer where the new closet was built above.

I was shown around by a very nice man (Cesar) and found the perfect tile for our shower. He let me borrow the sample for the weekend which was incredibly helpful. I showed the sample to my wife and she loved it as well. On Monday I went in and purchased the amount of tile my installer recommended. On my excitement of buying I did not read and was not told that all sales are final. After finishing up our shower which by the way came out perfect, I called and asked if I could return one full box for a refund. No was the answer and I was out $75.00 and have a box and half of tiles that will never be used. My suggestion is be very certain of measurements because once you sign the invoice you have cross the road of literally no return. My shower looks fantastic I could not picked a better tile and my installer (FRG Tile Installation) did an excellent job, just be wary of the no return policy so your not overpaying with no option of a refund.

Where things fell short was communication and delivery...especially disappointing as this was our first time shopping here. When we placed our order, we specifically asked if the product was in stock and were told that it was. After we paid and left, we received a call saying the product was actually not in stock and would take about a week. Frustrating, but what made it worse was the response we got when we followed up. We spoke with Glenn and explained that had we known, we might have gone elsewhere. His response was essentially that we were free to do so. Having worked in customer service for over 10 years, I found that surprising and disappointing...there was no effort to retain our business or make things right. We decided to continue with the order since we had already paid. Fast forward about two weeks, and we hadn't received any updates. I called to check in and was told the shipment was still in transit and might arrive by the end of the day. I asked to speak with a manager, and Glenn called me back. To his credit, he acknowledged the earlier interaction and apologized for the delay, but there was still a lack of proactive communication or effort to improve the experience...especially considering we had already, made multiple trips for payment and a partial pickup. Ironically, I received a call just before closing that the rest of the shipment had arrived and would be ready for pickup the next day...but only after I had reached out first. I would still recommend this place for the showroom, selection, and the help we received from Polina. Just be aware that the follow-through and communication may not match that initial experience.

Having been told that, we decided to not do the garage floors and when Ray followed up with us about the quote we got from them, we explained this was our reason why. Long story short, they assured us that many of their clients have gym equipment and mats on their floors without any issues should we decide to change our minds. With that, and after being able to discuss our budget for the project, we went ahead and booked them. The process was very easy with lots of communication and reminders. The project was scheduled for the exact day we had in mind to do it and was done in 1-day. The 2 workers who came to do the garage itself were very professional and did an outstanding job. Overall, we are very pleased about having our garage floor done and could not be happier with how they turned out. A few pointers if it helps anyone else - I wanted to pay cash but had to use another method (no big deal). Also, we did not occupy the residence yet and it took us by surprise that we had to keep the garage cracked open for a few days - not a big deal either but would just have been helpful to know ahead of time so we could plan accordingly. We bought a few wood pallets and placed in front of the garage to protect the floor from any bugs, dust, leaves, etc. and for peace of mind since we did not live in the home yet.

I had asked them not use certain outlets as they would flip the breaker. They acknowledged the request and still used the outlet flipping the breaker. In turn shutting power off through my house. Causing food to spoil. After the service was complete the installers had missed several spots with their final coating. They sent someone out and they patched some of the spots. During installation I had also mentioned not to go over some fence holes we use for our garage. This fence is removable like a pool fence. We use it for our dogs when I went to reinstall the fence they had not covered the holes and material had gotten in the hole and now my fence won't go back in. I had text dialogue and the salesperson sam said e would send some out. Then crickets no response. I can't get my garage back in order. I will need to have another contractor come out which then I will need to make a claim on their bond with the state. I would stay away from this company.

The crew used heavy-duty, professional-grade equipment and materials. The technicians worked incredibly hard, spending hours on their knees to make every detail look perfect, including the stem walls and the step leading into the house. They thoroughly ground the concrete, opened and repaired all the cracks, filled them properly, then re-ground everything to create a smooth, level surface before applying the coating. The entire project was completed in less than a day, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the results. I've seen many do-it-yourself garage floor coatings over the years, (as an Real estate broker and Realtor for 27 years) and unfortunately many of them begin peeling soon after applied because the concrete wasn't properly prepared. The quality of the surface preparation is what makes the difference, and this company clearly understands that with quality material. They also completed a patio at one of my listings in Laguna Woods. They applied a finish with just enough texture to provide excellent slip resistance while still looking attractive and easy to maintain.
