Beware of the service department! My husband called and made an appointment for 10:00 on Wednesday to get a recall fixed on our Jeep Wrangler and was told the repair would take an hour. I was surprised he had more luck making an appointment than I did, because when I had called up there several months ago, they had told me the recall was no big deal and it would take them months to get parts. So since we only live fifteen minutes away, I had the day off, and had errands to run that afternoon, I was going to wait on the vehicle at the dealership. I arrived at 9:45 and checked in with a servicewoman. At 11:15 I walked outside to make a phone call and saw our Jeep still sitting where I left it. I kindly asked an employee for my keys back and was directed to the service manager who said they had been having technical issues all morning long and that they were sorry for the delay. Then the lady I had talked to that morning came back from talking to the mechanics who said other recalls came in that morning and were bumped in front of me. She told me that had they known I would wait on it and that I had other things to do that afternoon that they would have made sure to work me in. So, what was the purpose of calling in advance to make an appointment? Also, we were told it would only take an hour to fix. Don't tell customers an approximate time if you can't adhere to it. These problems could have been easily avoided had someone just made a courtesy call or told me when I checked in that there would be a delay. I told the woman that I had planned everything around what we were told on the phone when we made the appointment and that it was pretty crappy business to bump people in front of a scheduled appointment. Her reply was, "Yeah." That's all you have to say after ruining someone's morning? I also had to ask to get my recall paperwork back, and all the lights in our Jeep were left on. Thanks goodness I had gotten it when I did! Needless to say, I'm calling a dealership in Little Rock and will just drive an hour away to get it repaired. read more
