Chris came to the house, gave a quick inspection of the foundation of the house and then set the radon test in the basement near the radon pipe. We mailed the test to CM Burrows as we were instructed and he sent it off to the lab. We received a very detailed report letting us know that we were in the safe zone and had nothing to worry about. The test was inexpensive for the peace of mind that we have knowing my family is safe. Definitely worth the money to get the test done.

He listened carefully to all the information I gave him. From the start he seemed like he cares about his work and wanted the best solution for me. He was also kind enough to look through a couple of other rooms in my home to see if he could spot any hazardous material as well as give me some suggestions for keeping my toddler safe from lead. I 100% recommend Chris and C.M. Burrows Enterprises!

I've had 5 home inspected in my life; Clever Inspections in by far the most thorough I've ever had…read more Our inspector was Andrew, he showed up on time and spent about two hours inspecting our two BR two Bath home from top to bottom, inside an out - roof to crawls space. He then went over the key points with us and provided a detailed 95 page report with pictures and description of each and every issue, as well as a separate short 7 page summary report. I would recommend Clever Inspections to my relatives and best friends. I am sure you will be satisfied with the service. I compared prices with three other providers and Clever Inspections, though not the lowest, provided the most thorough estimate and they more than lived up to their promise. A few of the many photos provided are attached.

He came on time, communicated clearly, checked everything in the unit very carefully, and delivered us a high quality report with not only a list of any things he found but also recommendations on how to maintain or fix findings. On top of this, once we moved in to the unit we had some questions about his findings and tips for fixing some home issues and he thoughtfully helped advise us. Value (5/5): The value and price for the service was competitive and I highly recommend him.

Recently, I hired James Desir to inspect a co-op apartment I'm purchasing in Brooklyn, NY. James…read morewas thorough, knowledgeable and very professional. He took the time during the inspection to explain his findings as well as afterwards on the phone once I had the written report. He also made a point to be flexible enough to fit a 2nd visit into his schedule to return to the building and inspect things & areas that he didn't have access to during the original inspection (Note: I did have to pay extra for the second visit). I highly recommend James and Desired Home Inspections. If I buy another property in New York City in the future, I would definitely hire him again.

When he arrived, he really took the time to listen to our concerns and even asked to see some photos to get a better idea of what we were dealing with. After taking a look, he explained that the issue was actually outside the scope of what he usually inspects. But instead of just walking away, he stuck around, explained everything clearly, and gave us some super helpful advice. You can tell John really knows his stuff. He was professional, honest, and didn't try to sell us on anything unnecessary. In fact, he insisted on not charging us, saying he likes to "sleep peacefully at night." That says a lot about his character. He even sent us detailed suggestions on how to handle the problem--what kind of work would be needed, the materials to use, and even what kind of handyman to look for. He also gave us a few referrals to get started. We were originally planning a much more expensive fix, but thanks to his knowledgeable advice, we are able to switch to a more practical option and hence cut the cost in half. We really appreciate his honesty and guidance. He is the kind of handyman you would like to work with, especially for people like us after working with various dishonest handman/plumbers...He is definitely someone we'd trust and would go to for our future home improvement projects.

Just a quick update to my previous review written on 9/26/2021…read more First, NOTHING HAS CHANGED about the positive review I wrote about John's services, however after some time has passed since we first met John, I do want to add that John is absolutely and truly one of those people who keeps his promise of "feel free to reach out to me in the future and I will get back to you on it". Despite having completed our home inspection many months ago, as we settled into our home, we realized small things here and there that we didn't notice earlier. Every time we encountered something new, we thought any one of these questions - What can be causing this? How did this happen? How can we fix this? Will this cost much? Is this a small or big problem? The bottom line was where do we go from there?! ... JOHN to the rescue! Every time we had a question, not often, but the few times we did, we took John up on his generous offer of reaching out to him and, NOT ONCE, did John fail to respond within 1 day! Not only has John been extremely cordial and professional with every communication we had with him, but he takes the time to write out detailed, technical and specific instructions on how we could resolve our home issues. Honestly, we would be so lost without his guidance and advice, but he has made our transition into our home less stressful. Like I said in my earlier review, John was recommended by our realtor and we truly believe this was, hands down, the BEST recommendation out of all of the recommendations we received.

We had a really solid experience with Gotham City for our condo inspection…read more The inspection itself was extremely thorough and thoughtful, not rushed or checkbox-driven. The report went into real detail--electrical, plumbing, moisture readings, appliances, and building systems--and, just as importantly, explained what actually mattered and what didn't. As first-time buyers, that level of clarity made a big difference. They were also very responsive. We called on a Monday, had the inspection scheduled for Tuesday, and received the full report just a few hours after the inspection was finished. Pricing felt fair for the amount of work and detail involved. Overall, it was professional, efficient, and genuinely helpful.

We had another inspector inspect the same roof - he disagreed and said the roof was in need of replacement.
