I checked in yesterday for a 69 cents per pound Cabbage Run for my Mom and had a lovely and energizing experience! This Cave is so clean, inviting, and neatly organized to make the shopping experience feel effortlessly smooth and enjoyable. I love how there are plastic bags directly above the garden produce for me to wrap my Cabbage fast and responsibly, and the selection of delicious flavored Coffee Creamers helps me start off my morning with a rich Hazelnut sip of mindfulness restoring gratitude too!! I also stocked up on my favorite Yoplait Harvest Peach Yogurt and some Alta Dena Milk to jazz up our Hot Chocolate Selection at home. The Cashier who helped me was really nice and responsible and using her downtime to clean the nearby Checkout Stations and tidying up her workspace! She scanned my items quickly, offered me a bag to carry my items efficiently, and wished me a nice day with a warm and sincere attitude! I always look forward to returning to this store because of it's reliable efficient systems! read more

On July 12, I bought 5 pieces of Mexican squash at 99 cents per pound. Checked my receipt on the way out and found out I was charged $1.49 per pound. Approached cashier Tessa and was nonchalantly told that since I bought more than 1 piece, I will be charged more. Duh, I am not dumb. Told her the cost is per pound and not per piece. OMG it looks like she doesn't know how their produce is priced. As she was busy with another customer, she asked Celeste to help me out. From here on, it got worse. She looked at my receipt and said the higher price charged was due to tax. Told her that vegetables are not taxed. Then she said I shld have used digital coupon. I told her it's not subject to digital coupon. Then she said maybe it's not really 99 cents a pound. To expedite things, I volunteered to go back to the Produce section and I took a picture of the sign. Still she was not convinced that it's the correct price. She got one of the flyers to check the price but I told her it's not in the ad! Oh my gosh, this is so frustrating! At this point I told her I will just return the squash and just please refund my money. Finally, it was Tomas who figured things out...the cashier Tessa charged me was for Italian squash instead of Mexican squash. He was apologetic and very efficient, obviously knowledgeable of his job and what customer service is. As I was leaving, another lady was in line for her peaches being charged the wrong price (again). She informed me that this happens more often than not. I wasted some 20 minutes in the store when I had better things to do! this is the second time I've used their pick up function and they are horrible. They have no idea what customer service is you call them they say OK we'll be right out. No one shows up. No one comes. I already paid them. I have a sick person at home that I'm trying to take care of so I wanted to run real quick and not get distracted and pick up items. I even told him I was coming. I've done everything that they've asked me to do. I told him how long it was gonna take me to get there. I turned on my GPS. They still haven't brought me my items. It's been 22 minutes. I have shopped at this store many times and I have always brought my own reusable bags. I was shocked when I went there recently and the cashier asked if I needed bags and I said I brought my own. She looked at me horrified and said "I just can't touch those bags. I had a bad experience once." I was stunned at her rudeness. I politely told her that my bags are very clean and I certainly didn't appreciate doing her job for her. I suggested that perhaps she should wear gloves when performing cashier duties. This is the worst smart and final location ever avoid at all costs. Nothing ever scans correctly. The lottery machine is always broken. (even though they got one of the new ones in it's still broken.) there is never any one at the express lane so if you ever get less than 10 items, you wait a long time because they never have registers with enough people. There is no self service checkout. Gift cards don't scan correctly even, lines are always getting backed up because somebody has to wait for something and some manager to go check on something because it never goes through. (None of this are the employees fault, nothing wrong with the employees their service or attitude they're just stuck with this disaster, I feel bad for them) I keep trying to forgive this place, but after years of coming here, it's just such a joke every time I do, even though it's the closest place to to me I'm avoiding it at all costs read more

Extremely rude older white lady cashier. I clipped a digital coupon and when she scanned my member card from the app the coupon did not adjust in the total. She told me I have used it and I had to point out to her that it was never used because if it was it would be in the redeemed category. She talked to me like a child. This smart and final in Eastvale is probably one of the worst. We love shopping at smart and final normally. This one is always out of stock, rude employees, and extremely slow checkout lines. We live less than three blocks away and my wife refuses to ever go back in there again. Their employees have gotten a little too power-hungry when it comes to their ability to enforce Covid rules such as wearing a mask. A lady in front of us was checking out and pulled her mask down away from her nose but still covered her mouth as she was checking out. The checker was extremely rude and told her she had to have her mask over her nose or she couldn't continue. Note the checker is behind plexiglass Nowhere near the lady. The lady politely told her she had to wear her mask like this so that she could see to checkout because her glasses were fogging up and she couldn't see what was being rang up. The checker was extremely rude and somehow the transaction finished. These are tough times for all of us. There is no need to treat your customers so rude. They will remember this when this is all over. Can't see the lady in front of us returning. Now I see why my wife will never shop in this location. I have to say this is no longer my favorite location and will not be doing any big shopping here. read more

So not sure what triggered it but it seems that literally tossing tomatoes in the bag the avocados on top of them and then bananas on top of both is that checkers' method of bagging groceries. Toilet paper is one per household there. My niece is on hard times and I wanted to pay for her groceries. Separate carts, separate items ring separate. I am buying toilet paper for my business (large industrial rolls) and she for her home smaller home rolls. In addition two different addresses on our driver's license which I offered to show the cashier but NO I am a liar. We came into the store together so they consider us one household. I have my business card but NO the cashier considers us one household. She called the floor manager who made me feel like a thief until I finally said to put back the box of industrial toilet paper I do not need it that bad. What does one household mean? The fruit at this Smart & final location on Limonite in the city of Eastvale is always dry, wrinkly, old. It's too bad because the rest of their store is good except for their produce section. Very rarely can I find fruit or vegetables there that look fresh. Take a look at the photo of the apples. There's no reason why all these apples should be available for purchase. Zoom in on the photo and you will see how dry and wrinkly they are and dark spots where the apples are rotting. read more

Horrible experience with shift manager Karrie tonight. She gave me and my husband a hard time when we requested a refund for being overcharged. This is the second time in 2 days in a row that we were overcharged. Instead Of reimbursing us and giving good customer service, Karrie refused to do the refund unless we had them items in hand that we were overcharged for the previous day. The items did not ring up the sale price. We were overcharged a total of $24. When we told her we didn't have the items we purchased yesterday, she said she won't do it. She told us to go get the items from inside the store but she won't do it without a barcode to scan. I told her she's the employee and she should help us by going to get them or sending someone to get the items. She said in an aggressive tone,"do u want me to help you or not?" I said are you not going to help me?" She said " well you keep talking?" I said " you're not doing your job, you're rude and combative". I told her that she knows there's another way to handle this situation and she can complete our refund easily but she's being difficult. She goes on to argue and act unprofessional making a scene that at least 10 other customers witnessed. She refuses to start the transaction and calls me rude. Then asks me for my first and last name. I told her my first name and don't worry about it and do her job. When she finally completes my 1st refund, she shorts me $7. She gave me $6.95 instead of $13.95. Then she completed the second transaction but left out the $2.99 because my husband couldn't find the item so she wasn't going to reimburse me what I overpaid for. so Karrie tried to cheat me 2 times in the same transaction after I already overpaid and received UNEXCUSABLE customer service. Poor management. They had 8 gallon bottles of rubbing alcohol. Priced at 8.69. When u for to the register it came up at 17.78. The cashier told me to go take a picture and she will honor it. I have been coming here for awhile to buy items in bulk for staff and community members. I found Amanda an employee to be extremely rude, dismissive and argumentative. She had me wait for 30-40 minutes instead of assist in solving an issue. It wasn't until a manager was called when things actually progressed. A huge thank you to Max the manager for assisting me with an order today. As well as another employee whose name I didn't catch. However Amanda, should be fired for arguing with a customer, being rude, and not assisting with someone who is simply checking out items and trying to do so in a short amount of time. read more

One of your cashiers needs to be informed that just because customers bring their own bags, doesn't mean they want to do THEIR job and bag their own groceries. If this is what you are training, then put a self check aisle in. Us customers were trying to pay and struggling at the same time to get all our groceries in our bags, so we could get out of the way, since the cashier was ringing up the next customer. 6:30 pm Tuesday 5-26-20. Im in the meat department with my daughter trying to buy my ribeyes to bbq. The supervisor/manager tells me "sir you can't shop in our store unless you have a mask on". I was scolded by the cashier today for using a coupon from my phone! I was told she would let me get away with it this time but next time I would need to bring the ad in that it was company policy. Well suggestion maybe corporate shouldn't put the coupon on it's website so that when you click on it it enlarges and allows the cashier to then scan it just like any digital coupon any other grocery store does. Disappointed in this store. Today's trip was a waste. Starting in the bread aisle- all the sourdough bread expires today. On to the meats- looking for a pork tenderloin, found one unfortunately it expired on December 23rd. Too bad we're in February. Then the whole chickens, they all have expiration dates for 2/4 but smell rancid as all get out. Ended up leaving and heading to Ralph's. There are some incompetent people at Smart&Final. The store manager did not accept coupon from the internet through phones from their web site. Why even provide coupons that they do not honor? Their policy did not state that Internet coupons need to be printed, which make sense because its on their web site. But no honoring it, is wrong and falsified information. This is my second review for this location. My first review was about the management at this location. I think the management is awesome! But the cashier named Peter.....is awful. I have gotten him several times. At least 5 times now, EVERY SINGLE TIME I go down his lane....he NEVER acknowledges you, never talks to you, looks at his phone and will say NOTHING and just hand you your receipt. I know this cashier is fairly new at this location. Take care of this Smart & Final. Train this cashier to do better. A smile and a simple, "Hello!" doesn't take much effort.
