Because of Mike at the register, this review is for the store you represent. Age does not discriminates against good to poor, even rude customer services. The cart was loaded of my family and I camping goals, approximately $460. We could have went to another market, just that the convenient location of our hometown, we frequent this market. Rarely do we encounter such audacious display of rude and disrespectful behavior. Leading up to my turn in line, while being the only one left at the time, I asked Mike if the heavier items, such as cases of drinks should remain in the cart and that i can bring it around to his side for his convenience to scan, he graciously accepts. It was then when just the fact that I may have not strategically faced the barcode that his behavior changed from nice to rude. His comment, "I don't see the barcode, well now I gotta take them of the cart." I offered to help. Instead, he ignores me and begins slamming most of my groceries. I wasn't going to care much, maybe he just having a bad day. So I tried to lighten the mood with small talks. Tells me, "hold on a second." Alright, I continue to let it go as he continues with the slamming. When he asked how many bags I need, I told him, "not too sure, just enough to carry the small items." He bag some, then chucks others at me to ask, "you got those right?" Again, just going to rolled with it and politely agreed. Then he makes unnecessary remarks, "do you want me to bag the larges one too?" No it's okay.. but then he chucks a gallon of milk and said, "well, not going to charge you for this bag." Ok, I'm still chill.. that's until a customer finally lines up. When he was done processing my payment, he said to the customer, "all that wait when you only have one item huh?" She laughed to say, "no, not at all, just got there." This is when I had it. Aside from me placing items on the bottom of the cart his wrong way, I do not know what I did to deserve this treatment. Absolutely ridiculous behavior. I do not want any retribution because this behavior can be corrected. Even if I was wrong in anyway, you'd only have to deal with me for no more than 5 mins. So please, find someway to handle your frustration elsewhere. This is unacceptable. read more

They do not honor their sale prices. I bought a case of Monster and was charged full price, in spite of the sign at the front of the aisle stating it was on sale for $39.99. I pointed it out to the gentleman at the cash register, but he "couldn't see the sign." The woman at the other cash registered called out that "whatever it scanned is the price." Neither one would would walk the 10 steps it would take to stand in front of the sign and read it. You know, it's bad enough that they close an entrance/exit in the evening, or they are putting more and more items behind locked cabinets. This is in a low crime neighborhood, so maybe those were corporate decisions. But the more inconvenient they make shopping, and the more often they cheat their customers like they did to me, the more money they will end up losing. Albertsons, Stater Bros., Aldi, etc are just a couple minutes drive in any direction. read more

Not sure why this supermarket got down to 3 stars, but when i shopped here, the market appeared very organized, easy to locate items. When i used to work in the City of Chino Hills, CA., area, i used to frequent this supermarket because there was Wells Fargo inside. While running convenient bank errands, i would check out their sales items. This business offered free plaza parking of course: there was always convenient parking spaces to 'Smart & Final Extra,'. Prices were reasonable here: from what i recalled so was service. If i'm in the area again, i'll be back. Since it's a 'Smart & Final,' supermarket, they sell by bulks. Stock up on daily needs such as water bottles, tissue boxes, rolls etc. Can't go wrong with these bulk deals if you need them daily? Love the convenient location: there existed ton of other businesses to support around here too. It's been awhile so will update. This is a Long overdue review for now. read more

Needed some things for a gathering that we have coming up. I was able to get everything I need here! I'm responsible for the beverages so I got iced tea, country time lemonade mix, a big thing of Folgers coffee and 4 of the Crystal Geyser gallon waters for $5. The prices here are not the best, but the fact that it's a one stop shop is what makes it worth it for things like this. The lines were getting long so they opened up a new line and I got out of there pretty quickly with no issues. read more

I love smart and final! They are so convenient and they have big buys and small buys. They have things that a regular market doesn't have and it fills in the gaps from Costco and Sam's club. I love the new "Extra" , they feature all kinds of beans, grains, candy, different melting chocolates, and all kinds of granola!! I can lose myself in all that! And if you're not into portioning and weighing yourself, they have regular boxed products too! Love having that option. I also love, love the many different containers, especially the clear round measures out ones with the lids. I know it's normally for the venders and restaurants, but I use them to portion out our food, because in my house, everybody eats in different times. I try to reuse my containers, I just put them on the top rack of my dishwasher and they come out fine and reusable!! The employees are always helpful and nice! read more

i'm really bummed because i've never had a bad experience at this store until last night. I was purchasing a small $5 bottle of wine last night with my boyfriend. The cashier looked at my ID and proceeded to smirk, and call over 3 other people to look at my ID to confirm that it was me. It was clear that the cashier just didn't want to serve me the alcohol and wanted to "catch" me in the act. I understand that checking ID is protocol, but the way the cashier spoke to me was very condescending. It wasn't until a younger female cashier came over to look at my ID and said, "Yes that's her she just has different hair"-- so thank you to that girl. read more

Typical run of the mill smart n final. The lines aren't very long whenever I come, and one of the days I came was the day before Thanksgiving, and as soon as there were more than 3 or 4 people waiting, they would try to open another register, so they pay attention I guess. Located close to work, so I can run in and get things as needed. The plaza parking lot can get pretty crowded though, esp around lunch time, because there are a ton of restaurants that all share this lot, and there are basically 2 main entrances/exits, so it can get jammed up pretty easily. But staff is pretty nice and helpful and I've never had any issues here. read more

I haven't been into a Smart & Final in a few years. I moved out of state but was home visiting family. My mom sent me out to get a roasted chicken. I had to wait about 15 minutes for the chickens to come out from the roaster, so I wandered around the store. I got a cheesecake for my sister's birthday too. It was delicious. Soon enough, the chickens came out and the guy who cooked them picked out a big, juicy chicken for me. Customer service was awesome here. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Appreciate staff working through covid-19. Because of that I'll give three stars. One suggestion... please have cashiers change gloves more often. You touch groceries all day long. I can wish for one thing it would be to have Vons back. This has got to be the worst smart and final I have ever been to mainly because of customer service. I hate to single people out but the cashier by the name of Bic, is the grumpiest non friendly person I have ever encountered. Never says hi, never asks if I need bags or anything. Just checks my items and hands me my receipt. The funny thing is I've seen her interact with older customers and she tends to be a little more helpful. Whatever she has against younger people she needs to let it go. Then when I do come here, I find long lines since they refuse to have enough cashiers, and the ones they do have are slow as molasses. When this covid started this store had trouble keeping up with the volume of customers. Understandable Fast forward a few months. I came in today around 1 pm. There was 2 cashiers working and the line to get to a cashier was all the way to the back wall!!! This is unacceptable. I am voting with my pocketbook. They lost a customer I walked out of there and walked in to my trusty Stater Bros where they were happy to have my business. Horrible staff. Angelica racially profiled a nice young black man for the color of his skin right in front of us. We were shopping and noticed from the moment he walked in she was eyeing him and talking amongst her co workers when all he did was spend 2 minutes at the ATM getting his own money out. The managers did not once correct their employees for racially profiling or also for cussing at the customer. This incident could have escalated and could have ahead this young man hurt for getting his own money out of the ATM machine. So today I walked in to Smart & Final for some fruits and vegetables, my day was great up until I got there, this gentleman from produce by the name of Joel was picking up apples off of the floor and putting them back with all the other apples, I was pretty disappointed I expected to find fresh produce but instead came across bruised apples & lack of maintenance they didn't have many good options due to produce not being fresh and low in stock. So I was quite disappointed and mad cause I ended up having frozen pizza for dinner! I did not have a good first impression by smart and final. This place is terrible. I'm standing in line writing this review because this is the 6th time I've been here and had the same experience. I usually come for 1 or 2 items and there is always someone with a cart Full of groceries in front of me. Many times there is a really long line and only one person on register. That is terrible customer service! I used to work at Trader Joe's and our policy was to open a new register if anybody was waiting. If they didn't leave people waiting in line for so long they would get more business out of it. They are losing out on thousands of dollars instead of paying somebody an extra $10 an hour to be there. It's kind of dark and dreary in here as well and the customers are kind of strange. I'm glad smart and final is there when I am in a pinch but it is such a dreadful experience going there. read more

Chino corn used to be sought after. This store had a sale yesterday pf 5 ears for a dollar with a sign that said, 'No Chucking' This is not fit for human consumption. The corn is not edible. I can't imagine how it was placed out for sale without inspection. With corn like that in Chino, the remainder of their produce must be of equally high standards. read more
