I went into this establishment a little over a month ago. There was a sign on the large seedless…read morewatermelon that read $0.99 each. As my son LOVES watermelon I got three. When I went to pay the watermelon rang up as $0.99/pound. I explained to the cashier, Carol, that the sign stated they were $0.99/each. Carol said she didn't know what to do and called the manager. I believe her name either Victoria or Veronica. When she came up I asked her name. She stated "I'm the store owner," and pointed to the sign hanging from the ceiling with her picture on it. I explained the situation and she said she would not honor the price advertised. I explained that it was false advertising and she laughed and began to walk away while laughing. I told her I was going to report to the BBB. I went back to the register and Carol began to be rude and making little side comments. While I was talking she yelled and told me to "BE QUIET, STOP TALKING." I went to find the owner and she came to the register. She asked Carol to take a break and she was still yelling at me. She rang me up and honored the advertised price for one watermelon Today, I went in to get a few things. The Poppi sodas were out front. The advertisement on the pallet stated $1.99 for a 4 pack. I did not see that it said "for a 4 pack." However, all the cases of Poppi were in packs of 8. There were absolutely zero 4 packs, all the boxes were boxes of 8. I guess they want you to open the boxes up and take out 4? This is false advertising and completely misleading. Additionally, there was a box of soup with about 12 bowls in them. They were labled as $0.99 each. This is also misleading as we thought the box was $099. Again, the boxes that were with the advertisement were all packaged in boxes of 12. There were no individual soups out. When I tried to explain to the cashier she stated "well don't get mad at the cashier." I replied and told her I wasn't mad, I was just trying to explain. She laughed in my face multiple times, then another man at the register chimed in. He stated I was mad being mean to the cashier. He said I was raising my voice and continued to threaten to kick me out. He stated I was making a scene. The conversation went on as he said multiple other things. I asked for his name and he said "I'm the manager, I'm Albert." Okay- I didn't ask his role there, just his name, but he thought it important to flex his managerial position. At one point a customer chimed in and began making comments. This man stated "well if it's too good to be true, it probably is. Mind you, this man had two boxes of the same soups that we were getting but decided to put them back when he heard the price! lol! The manger Albert kept talking and telling me to leave and that I could go to another store. All I was doing was explaining that the advertising was misleading. Before I left I asked for the female cashiers name. She kept laughing then said her name was "Ms. Janice." After, she asked me for my name. I stated that I was just a customer and did not need to provide her with my name. This is so misleading! How are they going to Price things individually but have them put in a whole package...? Lastly, I don't believe that either of them were very professional. Albert, as a manager, should've stepped in when the customer began making comments, instead of letting him chime in and potentially escalate the situation. As a manager, he should've been able to talk to everyone calmly, apologize for the misleading information and fix the signage. Instead he proceeded to be rude, unprofessional and demeaning. This man is never happy or smiling when I go into the store- I don't think he likes his job very much. He is never warm or inviting to the customers. Mi would stay away from here if you like honesty, because they definitely are not that.

As an item I wanted was not in store, I ordered for pickup. First time I have ever done so. I was not sure where to go, what to do etc so I approched the associate who seemed to be handling that area. I saw he was busy so I politely apologized for bothering him and explained I was pretty much clueless on where to go, what to do etc. He told me to check in. I asked him where to do so and he told me to do it the same way I ordered. I ordered on Amazon so tried to open it. Well that store has horrible internet so it took a minute but the only option was curbside vs in store. I again apologized and explained. He told me he wasn't familiar with the app and turned away. I just stood there. Another woman arrived and seemed to be helping out but when I tried to ask her for help, she rather abruptly told me they were busy and other people were waiting. I would not have flinched if she, in a semi polite manner would have simply said something like, "we have quite a few orders but if you don't mind waiting a moment, we will help you." Instead I felt awkward and embarrassed. She did find my order which was handed to me in an efficient but not warm and friendly way and that was it. Both employees seemed irritated that I did not know the "lay of the land" I get the store was busy. They seemed to be short staffed. The woman said they were having technical issues which I totally get and I am sure they were both tired and frustrated. I've been there. But I left feeling ashamed for putting the employees out. Whole Foods - your Oxnard internet is awful so looking for instructions in an email or app is often fruitless. Maybe some clear signage like you have at the Amazon self serve? A simply thing like that would go a long way. I won't try online pickup again. If am item I want is unavailable I will skip it there and purchase it somewhere else. Even when we were checking out, she was watching us intently while being rung up. I don't understand if she thought we were going to steal or something while simply just browsing. It's just not right to treat customers like that. If they've had others do that to them well I understand but don't assume everyone who goes in will steal.

I've never been to a General Store that is so incredibly great. The owner and the employees…read moregenuinely care about the community around them and they're polite and courteous as can be. They have a large section designated for organic products and have just about anything you can imagine. They even have fresh baked sweet bread delivered fresh on a daily basis. If they don't, just ask and they'll try to order the product or a similar one for you. The prices are very affordable for a convenient store. If you're a stickler for cleanliness, this is the destination for you. Pride in ownership definitely shines through. Stop in and see for yourself. They'll welcome you like you were their family.
