We came here on a whim for the sole purpose of grabbing a cup of coffee, but when we took a whiff of the scent of their baked goods, we could NOT resist getting some sweets as well. It was so hard to choose, because everything looked so good and the variety was insane. Donuts, cookies, cupcakes, ice cream, GIANT COOKIE ICE CREAM SANDWICH. I truly felt like a kid in a candy shop, but we had to restrain ourselves and ended up getting two good looking cupcakes. Now let me say this. My fiancé doesn't have even a miniscule of lust for cupcakes. In fact, in the entirety I've been with him (long time), I've never even seen him eat a cupcake before. One bite, and I heard a lawnmower leveled "MMMMM" that could have vibrated the entire cafe. When I tried them, I could see why. Red Velvet Cupcake: Typically what you would expect, except VERY fresh. Sometimes the cream cheese frosting has very overbearing cream cheese, but they balanced it very well so that you can still feel like you're eating a really good red velvet cupcake and not just a solid block of cream cheese. Red Velvet enthusiasts won't go astray if they chose this. Wedding Cake Cupcake: It was hard not to replicate my fiance's lawnmower reaction when I tried this one. So tasty, so fresh, maybe my fiance and I could have gotten married right then and there with this wedding cake cupcake. So crazy delicious and those pearl sugars (?) just made the whole experience a fancy one. Definitely my favorite flavored cupcake. I've decided that we will return to try the other goodies. Most expensive throw away ever. This was pretty terrible. We were walking around, looking for ice cream at this end of our really fun night and came across the spot... The "homemade ice cream" sign won us over, but, unfortunately, all of the ice cream was made in the wrong home I think - icy, not creamy, not tasty at all... Had a bad experience this morning with this business. I came in to quickly pick up a cupcake for my mother and sister's birthday. On Google the store listed their hours as 8 am to 8 pm. I walked in after 10 and was told they were closed but the coffee store was open. This was not a big deal to me and I left quickly so they could continue to open. My husband and I walked around the shopping area until they re-opened after 10:30 am. When we came into the store, we were ignored by the employee running the front of the store. We patiently waited for another 7 minutes before being greeted with a rude look and loud sigh to signal us to make our order. I understand the worker was still opening up, and probably needed some time to finish her opening duties, however the way we were ignored and were not even given the equivalent to a "how may I help you" was incredibly rude. Additionally, I find it odd that the store is connected to a coffee shop. We were confused by the hours posted online. read more

I've been to the Smallcakes in Alpharetta, GA, so imagine my surprise and delight at seeing a Smallcakes in Rosemary. I have a huge sweet tooth, and I have to say this place hits the spot. In my opinion, it's one of the better cupcake places out there. I decided on the chocolate fudge cupcake, which was rich and filling. It had creamy fudge in the center. It was not my choice pick, but I shared it with a friend, and she's a die hard chocolate lover. It was good, but not as fresh as the ones I had back in my home state. If you really want to be indulgent, you can get your cupcake with ice cream. I guess if you like ice cream cakes, this might be the way to go. I prefer mine solo. Oh, and for the dog lovers, they offer treats for the dogs too! Mine is on a diet, so he can't have one. :( I found out that this franchise bakes and frosts daily, fresh from scratch. I also heard that the franchise was on the fun show on Food Network, Cupcake Wars, as well as being featured on the View. Even the ever-popular newspaper USA TODAY listed them in the top ten cupcake places to try in the country. Pretty impressive. With that said, isn't it time you tried one? read more

I'll never come to this chain or this town again. They are so unwelcoming to tourists! To think you're a customer and cannot get access to a restroom is unfathomable! Bad judgement and bad attitude, in a town that exists because of tourism. Pretty good stuff--had ice cream here a couple of nights, and every flavor was spot on. The cookie sandwich was amazing, too. I had high hopes upon entering and seeing cupcakes and ice cream that looked very appealing...but then we could not find an employee to wait on us. When we looked closer, we could see an employee in the back room, clearly asleep leaning with her head against the wall. We tried gently to get her attention - I coughed, my wife opened and closed the door, I said "hello" loudly...nothing worked. Some other guests entered, saw there was no one behind the counter and left. As they were leaving our sleepy hostess woke up and wondered out to "greet" us. I use quotes here because she just stood there and said nothing, appearing to be in a daze. It's a shame that I'm literally writing this review because of a cherry. On Sat, Oct 6th at around 2pm, my 6 year old nephew asked for a cherry to go on top of his ice cream. He was told by the very low energy and unfriendly girl behind the counter, "we don't put toppings on ice cream, only milkshakes". Seriously?!? Then we ordered a Hot Fudge Sundae cupcake which has a cherry on it; we asked for an extra cherry for it and were told, "no, this is how it comes", by the other miserable girl behind the counter. The customer service, especially in a place that attracts kids was just awful. To top it off the cupcakes tasted like they were previously frozen. Not worth it! If you're staying in Rosemary Beach, everyone goes to Sugar Shak and, not to hate on them, but their Eddy's ice cream is definitely not as good as Smallcakes in-house made stuff. The raspberry, specifically, is SO good. So if you're going to spend $4 on ice cream, go here for sure. read more

Great cupcakes but terrible customer service... we went to celebrate a birthday with family and the employee was not at all friendly or helpful. Immediately after we ordered she went straight to the back room. After eating our cupcakes one of us needed a togo box so we walked to the front. She was sitting in the back room where we could see her. We made eye contact and she didn't move, we waved at her, she still didn't move, and then we tried making some noise and she finally came to the front. When we asked for a box she made a face at us, rolled her eyes, and finally gave us a Togo box and didn't say a word as she handed it to us. I do not know what we did to make her upset, but she made my entire family feel uncomfortable. We thanked her anyway and left. A few minutes after leaving we realized that one of us had accidentally left a phone on our table (mind you there was no one else in the restaurant at all). By the time we went back to get it, it was no where to be found and we asked the same employee if she had found a phone in the store. She proceeded to tell us no and that she didn't see one. After checking find my iphone it was clear that our phone was in the store so we proceeded to dig through the trash as the employee watched. We didn't find it in the trash and we checked the entire store with no luck. We asked again if she had seen a phone and she told us no. Meanwhile the find my iphone is still telling us the phone is in the store.. My sister then said to open the life360 app because that will tell us the EXACT location of it in the store. Upon hearing this, the employee immediately went to the back and brought the phone out to us and pretended she didn't know it was back there. Great place for sweet treats on 30a. They have a variety of ice cream flavors which are all soft serve. They also offer a large variety of cupcakes. Prices were great considering this is a tourist area. The restaurant was clean with plenty of seating. These cupcakes were exquisite. We stopped in on our leisurely bike ride through 30a and sampled 4 flavors: Red Velvet, Cookies and Cream, Birthday Cake, and Wedding Cake. The Wedding Cake was my favorite of the four, but the Red Velvet was a close second. But actually all the flavors were simply delicious, it's just that I have a penchant for all things wedding cake and red velvet. I can't complete this review without addressing the moisture level in these cupcakes. Super moist is an understatement. They all tasted as if they had been baked minutes before we arrived. Cute little cupcake shop in a great location, but the taste is pretty much the same as a grocery store bakery for 3x as much. With the exception of red velvet they have 2 options for the base, and 2 options of frosting that they just decorate in different ways to create different "flavors." They are all the same and fairly bland, which is what my rating is based off of. That being said, if you are looking for the experience, it is an adorable set up in a fun little area right off a lovely pedestrian trail. It's really a one man show based on the size of the shop, so expect a line and a slightly stressed hard working young kid in peak hours, but they are still very friendly and helpful. read more

We stopped by at about 6:30-6:45 and they didn't have much left which is understandable but they had vanilla, red velvet, etc. My issue was that they had clearly doused the place in pine-sol or some industrial cleaner and it was so overpowering that I felt strange. I ended up getting cupcakes anyway because I was on a mission and when I got them home they smelled and tasted like pine-sol. SICK. How about cleaning when the restaurant is closed like most places do, especially when you are a restaurant basically marketed to children. read more
