I thought about writing this review for quite a while. I went to Bill Melson the store manager…read moreonce in person and then following up with email but when I saw a similar review of the store not supporting people with disabilities, I decided to post. We have gone to Sentry for years and have a child with a severe disability. We never feel welcomed, getting stares by several employees and also recently being followed up and down the aisles by and older woman employee and most recently by Blake Daniels. Blake followed my family for so long that it made both of my daughters significantly uncomfortable. It is CLEAR that they do not care about physically and neuro-diverse people and have no willingness to accept and accommodate them. And when I sent a few emails directly to Bill, I NEVER received a response. You have to be a horrible person to discriminate against anyone overall but it takes a specific type of terrible to do it to a child. I will not shop here anymore nor will any of my family. I encourage everyone reading this to take the same action. Vote with your $'s or there will never be change.

Your fruits and vegetables are gorgeous, huge selection, even strange stuff. And my rosemary and basil starters are all going strong. The meats. Today I picked up some drumsticks to spoil the new (geriatric) pound puppy with. He couldn't believe it, was thrilled. But - where were the dog bones? It's been awhile since I picked up any. Friendly staff person stopped what she was doing. Was cheerful, chatty, accompanied me to the place where they belong. Oops. Nothing there. No problem! Went to check in back. (How really, really nice.) Returned with an armful of fresh, huge bones that any dog could happily spend hours chewing on. Continued with my shopping. Found everything else I needed (of course.) Picked up (my favorite!) jelly donuts. They may be inexpensive, but Woodman's are the best. Filled up with gas. Lately has been consistently less expensive in Beloit (compared to Rockford). Oh! And the NO FEE ATM. T w o of them no less. That is really considerate. And smart. Encourages more shopping in their stores. Woodman's is just the best place to shop. And you feel good shopping there, too. Thank you for respecting folks - your staff and customers.

My husband and I were staying at a nearby hotel and needed a gluten free lighter option before a spa day. I'm so glad we found Green Grocer. It was packed. Not an empty seat in the place around 12:00 on a Saturday. We did have to circle around for parking as well, but only had to walk a short distance from across the street. I got a drip coffee with blueberry waffle flavor and cream. The coffee was very good. I believe they use Collectivo. The gluten free raspberry financier was even better. It was similar to a Madeline cookie, but larger and raspberry in the center. I would drive back just for the pastry. We also got sandwiches from the deli and two fountain drinks from bar. I loved my build your own turkey and Swiss with sprouts, lettuce, tomato's pickle, onion, mayo, mustard, and sub sauce on gluten free bread. The bar service was great too. I definitely recommend Green Grocer for sandwiches and coffee, especially if you want to avoid the craziness of downtown Lake Geneva. Seems like the locals know this place is fantastic as it was non stop busy.

First visit, the bar wasn't open. The lower bar bartender told us we could go up to the roof top but needed to bring our own dishes down. Second visit, large sign at entry said roof top bar was open. Several tables and all seats at the bar were full but no bartender on a very warm day. It rained earlier in the day so many of the tables and chairs were wet. We were able to go behind the bar to grab paper towels to clean off the seats. Again had to bring up drinks from the lower bar. Lower bar tender moves like a snail. After about an hour, a bartender shows up to the roof top and says she was watching the weather and decided to come to work. The lower bar is nice but why offer a roof top bar if you cannot service it. There were many customers that left frustrated at the lack of service. Hopefully management will get it together. This could be a great asset to our small town.

No trip to Wisconsin is complete without a ceremonial smuggling of a trunk-full of New Glarus beer…read more This magical brew is only available in the cheese state and in high demand around the country. When visiting family in Milwaukee, you MUST make a stop to stock up on this craft brew. The New Glarus Brewing Company was founded by Deborah Carey as a gift for her husband, Daniel. Before starting the New Glarus Brewing Company, Dan Carey was an experienced diploma master brewer. Today the company brews a variety of beers, with its Spotted Cow label leading in sales. New Glarus brewing employs about 90 people today. The brewery made the choice to pull out of Illinois sales effective 2003 leading to the sale of New Glarus beer 'Only In Wisconsin' for all time. So enough about the beer now on to Piggly Wiggly. First off, that name is amazing. I've heard of the chain before and know that it's quite reputable. On our drive from Milwaukee to St. Louis, this particular Piggly Wiggly is the PERFECT stop for a beer pickup. The alcohol selection at Piggly Wiggly is amazing! There were so many amazing craft beer selections, all of which were Wisconsin based! The Piggly Wiggly had every selection available from New Glarus. From Spotted Cow to Moon Man, we had so many options. There were also so many other brewery options. We got beers from Point brewery and also from MKE Brewery and Great Dane. Loved their focus on local. As for the actual grocery portion of this store, I can't comment too much. We walked around briefly and it was... a store! We did want to buy some pretzels for our journey, but there were only two lines open and they were packed. Would have loved to have seen more lanes open to get patrons through quicker. At the end... my biggest feedback is that if you're driving south from Milwaukee and are looking for a quick stop to get New Glarus beer to enjoy at your final destination, Piggly Wiggly is your best bet.
