However, she recently moved to Santa Clarita to be closer to us and we took her to this office today. According to her, this is the nicest, most professional and friendly office staff with all the up-to date equipment. Her hearing aid stopped working. It was purchased at a different audiology department. Audiology Associates sent the hearing aid out for repairs and contacted the previous business where it was purchased to get the most up to date records. The staff communicated regularly with my mother-in-law and kept her informed during the entire process. The hearing aid was fixed a week sooner than expected. It was very easy to make the appointments. Once the new settings were dialed in they told her she could come in any time without an appointment for any type of adjustments. I can't say enough about how wonderful it is to work with such a professional and friendly business.

SO much so, I also brought my mother here. I have always been happy with the Octicon hearing aids (H/A) I had been getting from them over the years. So why the low rating? In between my first and second set of H/A, I was asked to try the Starkey brand. I was not happy with their tonality/sound quality or functionality. So, I went back to Oticon. Last year, I was once again asked to try Starkey. Even though my last experience with them was not favorable, I was told they were the latest and were very good. I tried them. Once again, I was not happy even after the issues I had were addressed they did not sound as good as I was used to. The audio levels were constantly bouncing around depending on the room I was in. It was very nerve racking, a constant headache. I was then asked to wait a bit as Starkey was going to release the latest and greatest they had. Once again, they pretty much sounded and acted the same. When I would get on a phone call the room mics would triple in volume and drown out the caller. Calling the tech support, the choices were blaring or nothing. They were stumped why this was. Went back to AA, and was told the issue was defective H/As. They would order a new set. The new set arrived, the phone call issue was gone, but constant bouncing of levels and the poor balance of sounds in the room continued. All pre-sets were just terrible. I also tried to set my own audio levels, and the H/A seemed to have a mind of their own and would start bouncing around. After multiple trips to AA and phone calls with support, I was done with trial and error. I was then told I was now stuck with these H/A! The only thing that can be done was to keep coming back for tweaks in hopes of getting things right! Since I was never offered an alternative like Oticon, it was obvious they have now gone all out on Starkey. That said, I will now have to find a new audiologist because I will NEVER get Starkey again. Even worse is I now have to wait for the next window that my insurance will pay for new H/As, as my last allowance was wasted on the Starkeys that now live in a drawer! Luckily my Oticons are still working. My experience has been, after I got used to wearing H/As, I would put them on in the morning and actually forget I was wearing them. When I would put on the Starkeys, there a CONSTANT, NAGGING reminder that I was wearing them. Not for me. I am sure there are people out there, that love and swear by the Starkey name and that's great for them. I am not one of them. I need an audiologist that offers choice and not just one brand.

FRONT OFFICE STAFF The front office staff was a pleasure to interact with on the phone and in person. They were caring, professional and efficient. Their professionalism over the phone and knowledge of which insurance providers would cover my audiogram was the reason I chose Sonus over two other facilities recommended by my ENT, who were neither professional or knowledgeable compared to the Sonus front office staff. The scheduling and initial paperwork was easy - they can mail or email the forms to you in advance and I appreciated that they do a follow up call one day in advance of your appointment. FACILITY AND PARKING Sonus is located in an outdoor mall off of Sierra Highway so there is free, ample parking. The office itself is bare bones, but very clean and well organized. AUDIOLOGISTS My audiologist who conducted my exam was very professional, thorough and caring - similar to the front desk staff. She listened patiently to the symptoms I've been experiencing and I felt at ease and confident in her capable hands. FOLLOW UP When I called Sonus to follow up and make sure my test results had been sent over to my ENT, they confirmed they had sent them over and they were able to send me a copy right away via email. It was such a relief, as I normally anticipate a lot of back and forth when tests are ordered by a doctor. From my first phone, to my office visit, to following up for results, I can say from experience that Sonus' positive reviews on Yelp are real and well deserved.

Disclaimer - I do know Dr. Kun personally however I am picky about my healthcare providers & have paid for my service. Recently I woke up with sudden hearing loss in one ear & I was so confused as it has never happened before. After some light research, I reached out to Dr. Kun as I knew she is an audiologist, I learned one should definitely get it checked within 72 hours or the risk is permanent hearing damage / loss. Dr. Kun was able to see me same day (thankfully) due to the urgency and performed a hearing test and confirmed my diagnosis of sudden hearing loss in that ear, and also checked it wasn't being blocked by maybe wax or something else. She referred me to another hearing doctor to get prescribed medication + a second opinion, which I did, and she prepared and provided a report for the doctor. Thankfully my hearing did back to normal & she followed up and confirmed with a follow up hearing test. I'm thankful for the quality of care & professionalism, and thankfully they do take my insurance so I had a small copay only. If you have any hearing concerns, I highly recommend Kun hearing!

They speak loudly which is very important in a hearing aid office, of course. They explain procedures out very thoroughly. They even follow up after receiving hearing aids. They help you with any issues with the hearing aids that can occur, such as filter changes due to wax filling them up. The most important thing to mention is the quality of their hearing aids. They last me years and make me hear so well, even having 80%+ hearing loss in both my ears. My experience was not a good one. From the beginning, I was taken aback by the cost--almost $500 for an audiology test, when I typically pay between $100-$200 at most. However, I was desperate because my tinnitus and hyperacusis had become unbearable, so I went forward with the appointment. Unfortunately, the most disappointing part was the doctor's tone and attitude. When I tried to explain my symptoms and timeline, he repeatedly interrupted me and dismissed my explanation, even accusing me of being wrong about when my symptoms began. As a doctor, having empathy, patience, and understanding is essential--especially when dealing with patients in pain. I left the appointment feeling unheard, rushed, unresolved, and honestly taken advantage of given the amount I paid. To clarify, I did not personally schedule the appointment, a family member did, as I was in significant ear pain at the time. My family member was aware of the pricing before scheduling. That said, I take responsibility for not reading reviews beforehand and assuming the experience would be positive since the doctor advertises himself as an expert in tinnitus. I am giving one star solely because the front desk staff were kind and professional.
