Expressway Animal Hospital - Olaf doesn't go there. However, I thought he deserved a shout out.

Even if you can't do that, the wait times are not long. We live in Philadelphia and come South half the year to visit our daughter. Our dog is a 14 year old rescue who seems to have a lot of skin and other health issues like arthritis. Each time we bring her to Expressway, her issues are resolved and we are given good meds that help the condition to go away. Dr. Louviere and his staff are so knowledgeable about animal problems. So fortunate to have a place like this. The prices are beyond reasonable. We are used to veterinary offices that are owned by private equity companies that seem to want you to get a multitude of unnecessary tests.

From the first visit I could see how much he loved animals and also there was a feeling true kindness of spirit that I would continue to experience from him over the next 40+ years. My first time it was ChoCho a female Doberman and Rottweiler puppy bred by request after the first oops happened and she was the best of both. Then Sasha a "Shar-pei puppy who the always made Dr. Louviere laugh then remark that she was unusually friendly and social next to any others he had experienced. Sasha spent five days a week at our Taeknondo school where she was loved by many children from the age of 4yrs. to 16yrs. plus parents. She was "very social" but as her breed is known for she was very protective of our home and family. Many years later there was Baby a male Moyen Poodle of 40 lbs. was born in a rescue after the mother dog was separated from her owner in the evacuation of Katrina. Baby was my sole companion for 16 years and the first male canine I ever had. Today as I write this I have Jacques a red male Standard Poodle I am taking in to get his five year annual check up. Thank you Dr. Louviere for all the love you gave every animal who comes through the doors of your hospital.

She set up some in-house consultation time with me to meet her (Sarah) as well as the pet-sitter that would be responsible for my kitties. They were both lovely and I felt comfortable with them. I booked ( through the online portal) the days I needed her to visit the kitties ( I have 2 persian cats). Each visit is 30 minutes and costs around $20 per visit and then an extra $3 per cat. I document each cats details on the portal as well as instructions for them to follow. Updates are sent through the customer portal. I always feel as ease knowing that my kitties are being taken care of. They send daily updates through the portal with cute pics of your pet. I Just have to mention that when Hurricane Barry was said to impact New Orleans, my hubby and i decided to leave because we have a newborn and couldn't risk staying in New Orleans. I called Sarah the day we left and asked her if she could see to the cats while we were away and she agreed too. She is truly our life saver. We played it by ear and because the storms weren't too bad she was able to check on them daily keeping me informed the entire time. She even picked up my packages for me at no additional cost as this was separate visit. If you are considering their services, don't hesitate and book it now. As you can see from this post I have been using their services for almost 4 years now and going strong. My persian kitties just love them!

I worked at Ashland Jail and the inmates have better living conditions than the dog cages they have back there. The entire back area of that place looks dirty. And speaking of dirt, when I picked my dog up he had some dirt on him and he smelled like urine and feces. He was peeking over the jail-cell like blinds on his kennel door, and I could tell he was shaking in fear. The room had no outside view, no TV, no radio, and was cold. Most boarding places I've used will give him a bath, trim his nails, and put a cute bandana on him. None of that is true with Cajun Canine. I kind of believe they just tossed him in the cage and forgot about him. He ate like a wild beast when I finally got him home, and he downed almost 4 cups of water. That's also unlike him. They also tried to rush me to pick him up because they have really weird hours. I was in Lafayette when I got a call asking me to pick him up at 1pm instead of the agreed upon 4pm because they had a bunch of cancellations today. I was trying to work with the woman and we ended up agreeing to 3pm. Which means we had to cut our plans short. Well Lafayette traffic is insane and I ended up being 30 minutes late. I was in Gibson at 3pm when the girl called and said she was there waiting for me and wasn't going to be there much longer. Her reason was that she had plans and she was very adamant in saying she wasn't going to be there much longer. So what am I supposed to do? Pay for another night because your day was slow? You have a business and it provides a service. I paid for that service and I expect you to render it. You having personal plans is none of my concern and it shouldn't affect anything. Finally, she mentioned that she doesn't think he'd be accepted back there anymore because he was too scared and didn't want to interact with anyone. Which is really unlike my dog because he loves everyone and is a playful, happy, and social puppy. That was just her way of trying to get back at me for ruining her Thursday night plans by 30 minutes. Heaven forbid. But... you know the saying. If my dog doesn't like you - neither do I. One star.
