Over the course of 3 months I tried to cancel my membership. I could never reach a human. During that time they charged me my annual fee. Eventually someone answered my email and canceled my membership. What they really did was sandbag me from canceling until they stole my money. They have admitted "their policies were terrible" but have "improved" but I'm currently going back and forth with someone over email who has yet to give me their name saying there is nothing they can do. Stonewalling me. "They can't do anything". YOU ARE A BUSINESS. You have the ability to work with customers and provide a refund. But you choose not to. I'm not going away. Going to corporate. Stay away.

You want a gym where people socialize and wear makeup to work out, I want a gym where I can get to all the equipment and free weights I want without having to have a four minute conversation. You want a basketball court, sauna, swimming pool and an adult jungle gym, I want a gym's gym - free weights, machines and no excessive crowds. P.S. - You also want to pay like $150/month, I pay $25/month at Hardbodyz. The fact that my gym ends in a Z is only the cherry on top of the sundae. Hardbodyz is a gym for people who like to work out and who like to get in and out of there with a great workout. I never go at peak time (5pm-8pm), but all the other times I have been I have never been inundated with crowds or an excess of meatheads.** The equipment is always working, always clean and the gym goers at Hardbodys do not leave messes everywhere. In general, the patrons here are courteous and respectful, which can not be said for all gyms. The pods are dumb and makes me wonder what would happen in an emergency because you have to scan to get in and scan to get out. They also increased my monthly membership fee with no notice which seems incredibly sketchy. I do not like or recommend this chain.

I visited this gym on a weekday morning to take a cycling class. It is a big gym with lots of…read moreequipment and a huge parking lot. Staff seems to be friendly but since I don't work out at this location on a regular basis I can't comment on that. The cycling room is big and I liked the fact that that each row of bikes is in a different level (similar to a theater) which allows whoever is sitting towards the back to have a better view of the instructor. My complaint is that the cycling instructor wasn't very good with 0 enthusiasm. There were no hills, sprints and other standard spinning activities. All the instructor kept a saying was "add 2 gears, remove 2 gears, stand up, sit down". Just multiply this by 20 and that was basically the whole class. My membership allows me to access all LA Fitness locations in NJ and I've been to at least 5 of them to take spinning classes and this was definitely the worst class.
