It has been 28 days since we closed on our house. It was a horrible frustrating experienc. We have bought and sold several homes in our lifetime and this was by far the worst experience we ever had. The selling agent who looked like he was about 20 came to our home and had this huge presentation he laid out talking about how the Sloan method would be the best for selling ou hous. we listened to his speech and decided to sign on with him. I made it clear from the start that we wanted the freedom to cut ties with Sloan if we were dissatisfied at any time, it was told to us that we could leave anytime we wanted. After a period of time we didn't feel we were getting enough activity on our listing and we informed our selling agent that we wanted to move on to someone else, it took him 3 days to get back to us and he said you signed a contract for 6 months and we're going to hold yo to that. Just FYI during the entire time with Sloan we saw our agent 2 times, he never answered his phone and sporadically responded to texts. Our agent never came to a showing or a home inspection. It felt like once they got you under contract, they washed their hands of you. There only concern was getting their cut from the sale. When we weren't getting any offers, the agent automatically said well you need to reduce the price by 10,000. This was after we made it clear we wouldn't sell for less than full asking price. When we finally got an offer, it was for 13,000 less than asking price. The agent recommended we accept it. Clearly he wasn't listening to us and had no interest in fighting for us, he was only interested in selling as fast as he could . We finally agreed to reduce the price by 5 000 but even after that the agent said we can ask for that and accept 8,000 less, again he wasn't listening to us. Once we did accept an offer that was very close to our asking price , the agent tried to take credit for negotiating on our behalf. If we hadn't stuck to our guns, he would have accepted any lowball offer. We were then assigned to a closing coordinator whom we never met and she also didn't return calls or texts. the home inspection was done by the buyer himself and then at the final walkthrough he decided to check things again and he said he found a leak in the kitchen sink . They refused to close one hour before closing unless we had it fixed by a licensed plumber . Again we had nobody from Sloan present for this to represent us. I would not recommend this realtor to anyone. If it were my business I would have made sure the customer was satisfied . I read more
