The biggest selling point to me is that people said on Yelp that the ciders are not too sweet, and that's EXACTLY the case. I'm so use to every cider I have always being really sweet, but these are not, just really good flavor. There are multiple ciders on tap, each one having their own backstory. You might think, cider is cider, are the flavors really that different? But each one comes from a different varietal blend of apples and they're also brewed using different methods. There's a menu that tells you about the apples of each one. Each one has a different alcohol content, and they have very unique flavors. I highly recommend getting a sampler flight, then getting a glass of your favorite one. Just be careful, some of them are pretty strong haha so uber or have a designated driver. I also want to add, the bartender was extremely friendly and loved talking about the ciders, and the entire room has a nice whimsical ambiance. The bar has an old-english pub feel to it, and there's a stage in the back of the room that I guess they do music performances on. We came later in the day and had just missed the music, the bartender said that they do a community jam every week where people just bring their instruments and jam out. Sounds really fun! Oh yea, I also forgot to mention as we were about to leave some locals came in and we were talking to them for a bit. Super nice people, this place definitely curates a really welcoming environment great for both locals and out of towners alike. And parking is super easy, it has its own lot, and there's also plenty of street parking because it's located in an industrial cul-de-sac.

Mead, dumplings & Mahjong!…read more I stopped by High Seas Mead specifically for their Mahjong Dumplings Pop-Up, and it was such a fun vibe! They have this event once a month, but it could vary in dates. I kicked things off with a flight of refreshing meads, including the Piña Paradise, Mystic Vibration Slushy, Sun of a Beach, and Frozen Espresso Meadtini. Every sip was perfect for a hot day! What I love most is their Meads & Ciders are gluten free and made with good quality ingredients. No artificial crap here. They don't serve food here, but they have pop-up events featuring local food. Check out their IG for more information @highseasmead On my visit, I ordered the beef-filled dumplings topped with chili oil and fresh green onions so delicious! The whole place was POPPIN' with great energy, and Mahjong was in full swing! I didn't get in on the game this time, but it was so cool to see everyone playing while enjoying their drinks and bites. We just came for a flight tasting, which is only $20 here. The nice part about the flight is that you also have the option to try ciders. They give you casino like chips here to use for each tasting. Great way to keep track! The reason for the three star rating is the lack of customer service. When I go to a winery, I expect the person pouring the wine to explain each one that I'm tasting. There was no explanation at all. Maybe I should of asked, but it was odd for a winery not to do that. The gentleman that poured didn't look too happy to be there either. I cringed each time I had to walk up to get my next pour. He barely said two words to me and I just got the feeling he was mad or upset about something. I wish I would have gotten his name! The girl that helped in the beginning was kind, but she also never explained each pour. Just a weird interaction overall. Would I return here? Yes! I loved the grounds and the peacocks. The wine was decent and I would like to try the ciders next time, but I'll probably go inside the store where they were also pouring wines. Hopefully they know what they're doing! Overall, a great spot to check out and next time I will make it a point to ask for a description of each pour even though I shouldn't have to.

So this was an awesome experience!…read more A friend had given me the name of the place and told me to call to stop by so we did when in town. Turns out we were a few blocks away and the owner was happy to give us a tasting. It's a small, newer business, owner operated and the owner, Rob, is keen on talking about his ciders. Not knowing much at all about ciders, learning about the process was fun - he explained a lot about the different fruits he uses (not all apples). Meanwhile he was offering us extremely delicious tastes of cider. He also makes wine, which we did not try. All of the ciders were very different in taste which was interesting - but none of them were too sweet which is what I worry about with ciders. We bought several bottles for home and he comped our tastings which was really nice. I loved the Big Tasty. It felt very down home energy wise but incredibly clean too - and the little tour was cool. Was a very nice stop to our trip and we picked up some nice gifts for friends. I highly recommend visiting if you are in to ciders. Also, it's a good hidden gem to visit if you are just learning, or, really in to cider (like the owner!)
