My name is Lynda Zackary, and I go to the S4L center in Heritage/ Alliance in Fort Worth/Keller. I started my weight loss journey at the end of October last year, and by March I had lost 36 pounds. There were a few times along the way - Thanksgiving, Christmas, a trip - where I gained a little and had to work hard to recover what I had lost, but overall I stayed on the weight loss path. Was it easy? No. Was it hard? No. It was some of both. The counselors are GREAT! They coached and encouraged me all along the way. The program is very specific and most of all, it works! It does take a little time to adjust, but once you've understood the program and follow it, it really isn't hard. It's a matter of determination and doing what you're told to do. I've learned the importance of eating the right foods and not eating the wrong foods. I learned that the supplements really do help. I've learned, most of all, how great I feel and how much energy I now have because of losing the extra weight, but also because I eat healthy now. I have the freedom to get off the "plan" and pretty much eat whatever I want, within limits ... but I do not want to. I feel too good eating lots of protein and fresh veggies and some fruit. No matter how good it tastes for the moment, I don't need the junk food any more, and my body doesn't want it! This was one of the best decisions that I have ever made for ME! I've struggled for years trying to get healthy, and have never been able to do it. I have been working on my weight loss for 9 months, and have lost more than 45lbs! I still want to lose 35 more, so I purchased additional weeks. Although the Slim4life program is a bit expense with purchasing snacks, shakes and supplements it really works. When I stick to the plan, I can lose up to 5+ pounds a week. It is just a bit restrictive, but the staff really work with you to help you achieve your weigh loss goals. I am happy with my results so far. read more
