Those damn seafood boil gets me every time. lol. Jared at the front desk is again AMAZING. A true professional, friendly, personable and so so nice. It's always so great coming in and receiving such a welcoming presence and personality. See you soon. Thanks again.

For the most part, everyone just kind of does their own thing which is good. Equipment looked a bit run down, rusty, kind of dirty, machine pads splitting and breaking apart. The gym itself is super messy, there are maybe 10 mismatched dumbbells on the rack at any given time because all of the equipment is just thrown all over the place - ex., one 30lb dumbbell here and the other is underneath a bench at the far end of the gym. The lighting gives you a Dollar Tree vibe - It's actually kind of sad and depressing. Locker rooms are a little crowded, maybe a bit less crowded during the day. Apparently this location will be going through a renovation period, so maybe it will be better when done. Overall experience? Wasn't terrible, I got my workout in, however, I think LA Fitness needs to hire better management and a better staff - a staff that will stay on top of certain issues and care about the overall gym goer experience. It seems like some of the complaints from years ago were never really addressed. A renovation would be nice but won't mean anything if you still have the same management and staff working there.

DO NOT ENROLL HERE UNLESS LIKE TO WORKOUT IN A SUANA!!!…read more THEY REFUSE TO FIX THE AC!!!!! Its been YEARS of the same lies and excuses... "Its an old system" "King Kullen (landlord) refuses to fix it" All complete nonsense. Any landlord legally must fix a broken AC. Do they go buy fans? (like youd see in a gymnasium) Nope, too cheap....or lazy. LA Fitness closed so months back enrollment went thru the roof, now all the college kids are back, when HS is out it will be a complete mess. So they have the money from all the new enrollment, its simply them being cheap. Go ANYWHERE but here. You will be DRIPPING SWEAT as soon as u walk in!!! I'll remove this IF they ever fix it....they wont.

I have been a member of UFC Gym for over three years and, until recently, I had never experienced…read moreany issues. Initially, the front desk staff recommended a personal trainer named B****. We spoke briefly and agreed on a time for a training session. He told me he would text or email me to confirm the appointment, but I never received any communication. When I saw him the following business day, he asked what had happened. I explained that I had been waiting for his confirmation. I chose to let the matter go and assumed it was simply a misunderstanding. The second time, we agreed on a specific training time, and he did email me to confirm the appointment. However, when I arrived the next day, I waited for nearly 30 minutes. I asked the front desk to contact him, and I was told he would arrive in approximately 15 minutes. He never showed up. I then requested to speak with a manager and was directed to R******. He apologized for the situation but also stated that, because it is the gym policy, the payment was nonrefundable. Although he offered to conduct the training session himself, by that point I was no longer interested. I was also told that if this issue were reported to his supervisor, I would not receive a refund. That left me with the impression that there was little interest in escalating or resolving my complaint, which was disappointing. I am sharing my experience so that others know what I encountered. While some employees at this location have been courteous and respectful of customers' time, I believe management needs improvement in management's handling of scheduling issues, customer concerns, and service recovery.

I wasn't planning to get involved in the Suzanne controversy even though I loved her class and…read morealways got a great workout. The gym is convenient for me and I hope that I will find enough alternative classes to make it worth renewing when my membership expires later this year. However, I feel the need to respond to Ken's response to Gina's post below. Ken states that the gym is in compliance with Nassau Co regulations regarding the need for life guards. That is true NOW that the pool was redone in December and the depth is less than five feet (and to save the gym money on hiring lifeguards). Prior to January the deep end was over my head and I'm about 5'5" so I really don't appreciate reading mistruths from management. Since I see that Ken is all of a sudden reading these posts I will share a few of my thoughts as to how the gym can be improved. 1. Why are there no cardio or weight classes after 6:30 pm? I have to rush out the door at 5 on the dot (risking the wrath of my boss) just to take a class that actually gives me a workout. Every single 7:30 class during the week is yoga (yoga/pilates). Shouldn't there be some variety? Do you not care about those that work late or commute? This gym is catering more and more to older customers. ***I should add that for at least 6 years I took a zumba class at 7:30 on Thursday that was always packed and for some reason was moved an hour earlier last fall. There are clearly people who are willing to take cardio classes later in the day.*** 2. Far too many of the tv's on the eliptical machines don't work. The channels come in fuzzy or the volume does not change. Time for some new machines. (While I'm at it why is Fox News always playing on the overheard tv's? Can't you stick to sports or something less polarizing) 3. I don't understand why there is so frequently a random woman selling pocket books, scarves and other nonsense right at the front of the gym. I'm at the gym to work out, not to feel pressure to buy stuff. This completely inappropriate for a gym. 4. The floor around the pool is very slippery. I know that at least one older woman had a very nasty fall there and an ambulance had to be called. I'm young and able bodied and even I get nervous walking there. Also lots of kids use the pool. In fixing up the pool, why didn't you do something about the crumbling concrete on the edges?

You get what you pay for, numerous dumbells of all sizes, space, good air circulation, modern and…read moreupdated equipment. There are no people with clouds of marijuana smoke walking into this gym or people that throw wipes on the floor. Pools, hot tub, steam room, dry heat room, paper towels, wipes, no loud music. This is a real gym that won't be part of the statistics of a place that grows viruses, mold, and other problems. Nassau County doesn't have a health department that inspects gyms, but if they did, this gym would be the only one in the area to pass inspections with flying colors.

The…read morecoaches, the people, and the atmosphere make it so much more than just a gym you go to before or after work. It's a place you look forward to returning to every time you leave. After feeling like I had reached the limit of what I could achieve on my own at a chain gym, I joined Crossfit516 after doing research into CF. After training at CrossFit 516 for the past 12 months, I'm confident it was the right decision. Many members have been here for over a decade, and it's not uncommon to meet people who have left other CrossFit locations to train here. One of the best parts for newcomers is the intro program, which is perfect for easing into the workouts. The coaches are experts and genuinely care about your progress. The workouts are intense but scalable, making them accessible to all fitness levels. I joined at 39, and there are members younger and older, so neither your age nor current fitness level should hold you back from checking out CrossFit516. One-on-one coaching is available, and training with Coach Ellen has been one of the best decisions I've made (and I've made a lot of great decisions). Initially, I planned to do a few sessions to learn more about Olympic lifting, avoid bad habits, and perform better in class, but I'm going into week 24 and it's far exceeded the goals and expectations I initially set. It's rare to get more out of something than you hope for, but that has defined my experience here. There's always something new to learn in CrossFit, and it's also a lot of fun. Whether you're in class next to someone training for the Open or "just" staying in shape, everyone is welcoming. If you're looking for a place to redefine your limits, achieve your fitness goals, and be part of an amazing community, CrossFit 516 won't let you down. The longevity of Crossfit516 speaks for itself. The coaches are incredible, and their love of CF makes training here nothing but a great experience.

I have been attending Crossfit 516 for the last year now. I'll try to make my review as objective…read moreas possible because after a year I have become friends with the people who run this gym. Also, since this is my first Crossfit gym I like it the most. The trainer/owners Tyler and Logan are excellent. They are knowledgeable, attentive and able to meet the demands of their clients. Now, don't get me wrong, they won't let you quit because you want to and they don't let you skip out on any of the fundamental movements. The beauty of Crossfit is that you engage in every activity. Gymnastics, Bodyweight, Olympic lifts, Cardio, Flexibility are all a part of it. The work out of the day is constantly varied, so you rarely do the same workout. The new trainer Sara is excellent, she is very determined and she commands the class well. So please, even though you hear loud weights banging and atlas stones crashes this is not a male centric gym. There are many women who are bored of the usual gyms who come to Crossfit and see results. No matter what shape you are in, this is a great place to start your fitness career. The environment is very motivating and no one lets you quit. This is common amongst many Crossfit gyms and I have been to seven different gyms now. But what stands out about Crossfit 516 is that we have really developed a family here. Everyone is your friend from the moment you come and in and the people. Also Tyler and Logan command a vision of expanding their space and giving everyone the best experience possible. They plan the workouts weeks in advance and they make sure that your entire hour is worth what you paid for it.
