Where to begin. We started out with a unique situation. Our son spent the first 6 months of his…read morelife literally sleeping ON me and never slept more than 3 hours at a time, until he started waking up every hour or more. We were both against sleep training and thought it was best to just push through this phase. But after weeks of waking up every hour and no end in sight, we were exhausted in every sense of the word and just not functioning well. Our son, who is literally usually the happiest baby alive, was a cranky emotional mess like his parents. Out of desperation, we hired a sleep consultant (not through Pam Neese) and had an absolutely HORRIFIC experience. I was so put off by sleep consultants. But then after another couple miserable sleepless weeks, my boyfriend found Pam Nease Sleep.  We worked with Sophie and I cannot speak highly enough of her. After a horrible first experience with a sleep consultant, she blew me away with her attentiveness, thoughtfulness and dedication to helping restore our family. She was with us every step of the way, answered all of my questions thoroughly and even helped with things I didn't think of. And contrary to what I originally thought, the phone calls were sooo valuable! I needed that support and reassurance. Now at first, I couldn't believe the price and thought there is NOOO way we are paying so much for a sleep consultant- ridiculous!! But let me tell you, you get what you pay for and the service they off at the level they offer it at is worth SO MUCH MORE! This is coming from someone who was totally against sleep training and thought the $300 I paid the other consultant was too much. Ha!  Sleep training was not easy- it was a Rollercoaster of emotions and bad nights. I hated it to be honest. But I would do it again (only with the help of Sophie though lol)! Because now our son sleeps through the night, takes long naps consistently and is back to being the happiest baby alive. (It turns out sleep training doesn't ruin your baby or your relationship with your baby!!) And as new parents, we are much happier and healthier, better rested, back to working out and spending more time together because now we have the energy. Moving forward, I know we have the tools for great sleep and so does our son. Priceless.  Pam and Sophie, I want to thank you both for helping my family. It is very obvious you are passionate about the work you do and helping struggling families like mine. We are forever grateful! My only regret was not finding you first.

I really thought my kids (2 and 6) were going to stump our sleep consultant, Jessica. We literally…read moretried every single trick in the book (co-sleeping, sitting, lullabies, CIO, even making the room freezing cold so they would stay in their beds) but my kids were still taking almost 2.5 hours to fall asleep very night after lots of threatening, screaming, and crying. We hesitated for 6 months because we didn't want to spend the money on something that wasn't guaranteed, but we finally gave in when nothing was getting better and I figured I could at least say that we tried everything (and maybe they'd return my money when they realized my kids were "lost causes" or the worst they'd ever seen? It was that bad...). Jessica was very friendly and understanding. She spent a lot of time asking questions about each child. Even she admitted that we had tried everything! I think some of the big tricks were setting our kids up for success even if it felt like we were doing the opposite (like moving the kids to sleep in separate rooms) and CONSISTENCY between both parents on the bedtime routine (from MOTN wake-ups to consequences). The biggest value to me was having Jessica there for specific questions at each phase of the sleep training process. You can read all the websites and books, but with no one there to answer your questions when your kid throws you a curve ball, you end up questioning/doubting yourself and, in our case, spouses may want to respond in different ways. Jessica was always flexible with us if we weren't comfortable doing something and was great with pivoting the plan to accommodate the progress of each kid. By the end, she really knew our kids and was as equally proud of them as we were! It took about 12 weeks but both of our kids sleep in their own rooms now and are quietly and willingly in bed by 8pm (just like in the movies!!!!!) I honestly never would have imagined how much my kids completely turned around like this! It is a LIFE CHANGER. I was having so much mom guilt and I literally DREADED bedtime every single night. Now the whole family knows what to expect for bedtime routine, my kids know how to fall asleep on their own (which is an important skill that they will have for the rest of their lives!), and they're overall happier kids with less meltdowns, outbursts, and midday crashes. I VERY HIGHLY recommend Pam Nease Sleep (and Jessica!) even if your kids aren't as bad as mine. Initially it felt bad/weird asking for this type of help because it's like admitting that we didn't know what we were doing and having to reveal all the wrong ways we were doings, but there was never even a judgmental tone from Jessica. She was so patient and kind and understanding through every step of the way. And there's nothing wrong with asking for help! Each child is different and teaching kids how to sleep is actually NOT innate or obvious, so if you're at your wit's end and about to lose your @*!@$@&@# like I was, I highly recommend hiring a sleep consultant and Pam Nease will not disappoint!

I liked the first doctor I went to at this practice a lot. I was seen for sleep issues and possible sleep apnea. However, after completing an at home sleep study in early October and returning the equipment, I heard nothing back. So, I followed up. The person I spoke with said it takes "2-3 weeks to download the results" - sounded suspect (nothing takes that long to download these days, but maybe it needs to be sent off somewhere and a report generated, so fine). I confirmed the practice would call me back with the results when available and was told yes, absolutely. Again, I heard nothing for weeks, so I called back. The next person I spoke with told me my results were in but I would have to schedule an appointment to get the results. As if it's not frustrating enough that the first person didn't tell me this and schedule an appointment during my first call to follow up....Im told the next availability for an appointment is APRIL. APRIL TO RECEIVE RESULTS FOR A TEST COMPLETED IN OCTOBER!!!!!! Madness. As if that wasn't bad enough, I asked to be put on a cancellation list and was eventually given an appointment in December. But then the practice called me a few days before to say something had come up and the doctor could no longer see me in December - and now the date to see the doctor was even further out in April. Frustrated at this point I asked to be squeezed in or if there wasn't a way to see another doctor I could see. I was told the office manager would call me back the next day to figure something out. No one called - so after a few days I tried back. I spoke with yet another person, who said the office manager was out that day but he would leave a note for her to call me the next day when she returned. Well, it's been weeks, yet again, and here we are: No word from this office. No returned call and no appointment for a follow up. If and when I do get someone on the phone it'll probably be May or June before I can see the doctor for my results. Again, for a test completed in October. It should actually be illegal to offer a test you can't provide results on for 6+ months. Had this been a more serious issue I'd be dead thanks to the negligence of this practice. I rarely ever write reviews but their lack of care is so egregious that I truly hope to prevent others from having to deal with this when in need of timely and thoughtful care. Find another spot!!

Upon finding Dr Patel, I really had no knowledge of his background or simply the mere fact that he is one of the Round the Clock intensivist at the ICU at the Huntington Hospital. when I first met him my first reaction was that this man is just all over the place with patients and medications and I mean this in a good way because he's trying to fit in so many patients and he does a thorough job on diagnosing their apnea or whatever pulmonary issue they might have and unlike some of the not so nice reviews about him especially being on his computer he is actually typing away and double-checking the patient's information on the electronic medical record system so that he can get everything straight from front to back. well couple of my friends went there due to their asthmatic issues and they were prescribed a few medications and were told what types of environmental hazards to get rid of from their homes such as plants and possible animals and quite frankly they are doing great and rarely even touch the meds. would I recommend him? absolutely as well as the other fellow pulmonologist there who I met on separate occasions which are all great and super friendly and very young but extremely knowledgeable. About the front office staff, I have noticed that because these doctors are on call at any given time at the hospital the staff need to be on their toes and then some at any given time and at every single moment. I have seen the two people in front check patients in and check patients out as well as scheduled their procedures such as bronchoscopy or whatever Surgical Necessities have been ordered, at the same time they are putting on an average of two to four calls on hold and trying to keep everything intact and I was observing everything and I noticed that everyone takes care of the patients with a smile regardless of how big of a load is on the plate. the front desk girl by the name of Esther is very on-point and very organized and extremely knowledgeable in answering any questions a patient might have and then you have the I want to say head medical assistant by the name of Marlene who is also a close friend of one of the doctors I heard and she was helping with my friends spirometry test and doing the vitals and she is such a cheerful person that really calm down the patients prior to seeing the doctor especially if it's a first-time patient. now as for the office manager who I believe her name is Jimi, was helping one of my friends with a billing issue and cleared it up and explain everything thoroughly to a point that after two minutes we had absolutely no questions of how the HMO insurance was working and on top of that she is such a bright cheerful person and I can understand that as the office manager she must take on a lot but as crazy as it was with all the patients coming in and out and the phone calls coming in and out she took the time to explain things without any Rush and quite frankly she is keeping the place intact. long story short ,Dr Patel as well as the other fellow pulmonologists, are the go-to people for anyone with any type of breathing disorders and yes they are all very busy and take their time to get to know their patients and thoroughly go through all of their issues in order to make a proper diagnosis so you might have to wait an extra 5-10 minutes but by the end of it you probably will not have to come back for another 6 months to a year because the doctors have already put in a game plan on how to treat your issue and how to manage and take care of it therefore I would totally recommend coming to the Huntington pulmonary Medical Group, so much that I am actually going to bring my loved ones there because many of them have asthma and severe allergies and I would not trust any other doctors but these so go ahead and ignore those other reviews but take it from me who just saw them about a week ago that they work there butts off and they all do it with a smile. and in case if anyone is wondering there are three women who work billing up in the back by the names of Vanessa and Sophia and I think her name was Rebecca who speak Spanish and I've seen them drop what they were doing and go and act as The Interpreter for patients and by the time the appointment was over everyone came out arm and arm laughing and smiling like family so you really can't go wrong by coming here.

Too many hours have been spent - yes hours - trying to sort out the mistakes caused by poor organization and communication within his team. They have dropped the ball on prescriptions, sleep studies, office visits and equipment suppliers. I have tried to get past it but over time, it all adds up. I have mentioned this to Dr.Patel directly. I believe he knows yet over the last few years he has not made patient care and communication a priority in his practice. Sadly, looking for a new physician to treat sleep apnea diagnosis.

We walked all the way back of the building and found a way in. Once there, it seemed to be highly disorganized. No real information given. I had to pry the attendants for simple facts. The place was cold, and in a very sterile office building. The room he was given had broken window slats. Once we turned the light off, the street lights were very bright and right in his eyeline. Since it was cold, we asked for another blanket and they said they weren't allowed to give us any more blankets. When I grilled her on why, she finally succumbed and gave him one more. They were the super thin ones like the ones the hospitals use. Like previously stated in another review, the bathroom didn't have any toiler paper. The walls were so thin, that he could hear all the conversations outside his bedroom and hear all the footsteps of other people going to the bathroom. On top of that, there was an announcement "Main Door Open" anytime anyone entered or exited the office. Suffice it to say, my fiancé wasn't able to sleep at all. So at 2am, he left. This was a colossal waste of time. When he complained to the staff as to why he couldn't get to sleep, the staff replied, "Yeah we have a lot of complaints."
