DO NOT BUY A SLEEP NUMBER BED. This has been the absolutely worst purchase. Save your money and buy a regular bed. Here's why: 1. It feels like an air mattress. You are literally sleeping on a giant air mattress. I thought that the store model was so comfortable, so I bought the same model but it doesn't feel the same at all. 2. Customer service is terrible. We have reached out to Sleep Number for a number of issues: our foot warmer stopped working, the app has a bunch of bugs, we have asked to return or exchange, and they refuse to help. 3. The features suck. Our foot warmer stopped working. When a power outage happens, you don't have control of your sleep number or position. My spouse and can't snuggle because of the split in the middle. Finding sheets is impossible. My app doesn't sync and doesn't set to my profile, so I can control my spouse's wife from my phone but not mine. 4. Regular beds are so much more comfortable. I am a believer in good sleep as an overall health benefit, and I fell for the Sleep number trap. But yourself a comfortable bed that is not an air mattress. Most weeks, I sleep in our guest bed because my sleep is sod bed in our sleep number bed. read more

I have researched online and decided to come here to try out their beds, seeing that their product gets tons of great reviews. We were greeted by Debi who is so positive and has an ultra lovely personality. We tried out the i10 and flex3 base and quickly fell it love. I just felt my back relaxing to any number she picked from 60 down to 10! I honestly can sleep on any number. We love the heating option because my husband has naturally cold feet. We decided to go for the split king i10 with flexfit 3 base. It did not cost additional money to have the bed split, so that each side can have its individual settings. I can use the app to automatically lower my husband's side down because he likes to fall asleep watching TV. For my side, I can elevate my feet after midnight to help with my diabetes, but I prefer to fall asleep with my feet flat to begin with. We also bought all our sheets here too. They felt luxurious and the colors fit both my husband's and my taste. Last but not least, Debi gave us the time we needed to make our decision and was extremely kind enough to call us or text us to make sure we liked our product. Additionally, she helped us with our app download and signed us up for 0% interest and financing for 36 months. I highly recommend everyone to come here. The manager, Jason, is a vet from Iraq and he keeps this place extremely organized and has everything in stock for you to purchase. It is always an honor to meet anyone that served in Iraq. I bought a bed from here about a year ago. The woman who sold us the bed falsely told us that we bought everything necessary to set up my headboard. When the delivery and installment men came, they said I needed a frame because all I had was the box platform and the headboard. When I told the woman at the store, she apologized and said she ordered the frame, but instead I received a duplicate box of the hardware that came with the headboard. When I went to the store to return the box and ask for a discounted frame (to make up for the false claims about having everything I needed), the woman tried to contact management, but her connection was slow. Her coworker told us that management would contact us later, but they never did. I'm only giving 2 stars because the bed is 5 stars, and the delivery men were kind and said to never hire someone from Sleep Number to move a mattress because they overcharge. Their 15 year limited warranty is a joke. They do not stand behind their very expensive beds. The warranty is a prorated warranty similar to tires where every year the amount covered diminishes. When I chatted with them for a covered item they viewed it as an opportunity to sell me replacement parts and service rather than solving my problem even though it was clearly a defect in the engineering of the mattress. I believe that any positive comments about this product is from customers that have not experienced any derive warranty related issues. Beware!! read more

I would be cautious purchasing anything from this location. It stands to reason why this location has low rating. The sales folks is more about making "hard sale" than help you. "you would be buying wring mattress if you don't buy it here". They lies and lies. Sold me a bed that is totally different than the one pitched and claim I did not select the options when complaint to Customer Escalations. Should have been free delivery but charged me for it. They also told me I need to buy sheets from them as no other sheet would fit, while I found other options on Amazon for 70% less cost. STAY AWAY! The ad suggest you can try the bed for 100 days free, mean while Customer Escalation suggested that there may be term about the base being non-returnable. WTF!! I have never felt so cheated and being scammed off my hard earned money. UPDATED: In reading the response, below, these guys has NO SHAME in their game. No one explained the base was non-refundable during my purchase, am I suppose to read the fine print?? The base is designed for their mattress with special magnet that controls the mattress. Be VERY, VERY weary of buying a Sleep Number bed. My wife and I have been incredibly disappointed with what has thus far been a super difficult experience dealing with the challenges of a flawed mattress we took delivery of in October 2020. What has made this an even bigger surprise and let down has been how Sleep Number as a company has responded to the challenges we have faced with their products. In fairness, we had a fine purchase experience at the Walnut Creek store. The sales staff were knowledgeable and we looked forward to a mattress that could deliver a variable level of firmness. We bought a premium mattress, that came with a premium promise, and at a premium price. Honestly, for the fist few months it really delivered against its promise and we were quite happy with our choice. Fast forward a few months, and my wife began to develop serious back pain and suggested that the bed no longer felt right. The mattress (an air mattress) leaks and does not hold air and her side has virtually no support. After a number of VERY difficult calls to Customer Service, we received a service appointment a few weeks out where the tech's flipped some padding, changed the pipes that bring air into the unit and placed her pump to fill the chamber on my side. They suggested that this would indicate if the issue was the chamber or the pump. However, after a night it was clear that it was both, as now my side now struggles to achieve and maintain a sleep number and her side literally loses all air before morning. Even more frustrating was to learn that our soonest option for a follow up repair was another 2-3 weeks out... and in this instance, they plan on changing out both pumps and both inner chambers of the air mattress. This is frustrating on 2 levels. 1st and most worrisome is we have to continue to sleep on an air mattress that does not hold air. The back issues we both have developed over the past month along with headaches from sleeping with next to no support has been horrible. Additionally, the idea that we as a customer should be ok with a product that has failed so catastrophically in its first months is absurd. The fact that they intend to replace all of the core mechanics of the mattress, IE both air chambers and both pumps indicates an awareness that the unit has failed on all levels. Upon learning this, I asked for a new unit only to be greeted by the response that we are outside of the product exchange window. However, our contention has been that we are not looking for an exchange because we have buyers remorse and want a different product.... but because the mattress we were delivered is clearly a flawed unit and we have no faith in it's longer term potential life span. Add to that, that they are ok with a customer waiting weeks at a time for any repairs to take place is simply absurd and unreasonable. When I asked why the company couldn't send a tech sooner to replace the parts. I was told that they dont carry these parts on hand because most people enjoy these units problem free for years. This response is even more frustrating because we are clearly an exception to their "normal" and yet rather then trying to replace a clearly flawed unit or fast repair... we are again greeted by the insult that we are outside of their "Exchange window". I can appreciate that any mass produced product, can have a situation where a lemon may potentially leave the factory. That being said, how a company deals with this is the opportunity to keep or lose a customer. Thus far, Sleep Number has proved itself to be incredibly uninterested in keeping us as a customer. We are eager (desperate even) to finally have a tech visit tomorrow... and hopeful to get some resolution. But the past 2 months have been absurd and I would suggest that for ANYONE considering a purchase, that I'll keep my fingers crossed for you to be part of the folks that apparently enjoy these problem free for years. However, if you are not... be aware. Sleep Number will NOT back their product and you will be left hanging. read more

UPDATED as of 07/06/18: I obtained my credit reports and the 2nd credit card (The Help Card), is shown in the report. This is the account that was opened WITHOUT my authorization by Sleep Number personnel. I had to file an identity theft report with the FTC and now I have to deal with the credit reporting agency to remove this unauthorized account from my report and also The Help Card. I received an email from Sleep Number Corporate Office, telling me that they are doing an investigation, but I never heard any updates from them. My email to this Sleep Number store in Walnut Creek went unanswered. BOTTOM LINE: be careful with this store and Sleep Number as a company in general. Being an identity theft victim is bad enough, but what is worst is that this store nor the corporate office care that someone that they employ committed an identity theft, seeing I never received an email response from the store nor updates from the corporate office. read more

Just walked into the store with my husband and got weird stares from a gentleman named David I think was his name and older blonde woman. I am pregnant and looking into getting new bed to help deal with my sciatica and apparently being an interracial couple they assumed we couldn't afford a sleep number bed. The attendant who took 5 minutes to address said he didn't want to waste our time being that these upper echelon beds that aren't your standard $800 bed. My husband and I who are both in tech make a combined salary of over 200k but being that as it may, no one should be profiled because of the color of their skin. Explains why there was hardly any customers in the store. Persnickety , biased rude jerks that just lost the shop a sale. My wife and I spent a long time working with Eric today on deciding to purchase a new Sleep Number mattress to replace our 13 year old model. We researched many other mattresses, most less expensive, but offering fewer choices of comfort for two people with differing sleeping needs. To our surprise and relief the new models are greatly improved and overwhelmed us during Eric's patient demonstration of each model. He listened to our comments and made recommendations, but allowed us to take all the time we needed to make our decision. I really wanted to stay the night and sleep in the model of our choice as it was unbelievably comfortable for me with all my back problems, sleep apnea, and arthritis. I can hardly wait for delivery. Thank you Eric. Five stars all the way. Update: It has been well over a month and with all the advice from Eric I now get out of bed with no back problems. Sleep is now a joy again. read more

Buyer's Beware. I bought a sleep number bed with the understanding that I have 100 days to return the bed. They should verbally tell you that the bed frame that costs over $4000 dollars is final sale when telling you about the 100 day return option. They didn't, instead when signing the final paperwork they disclose it in the fine print which you sign so legally they have you, but to me it is morally reprehensible and a sleazy sales practice. The bed is awful too, I knew after one night but thought maybe I would get used to it, I didn't! To top it off when I was upset and wanted to speak to upper management about their deceitful sales practices they didn't return 3 of my calls. Finally after the 4th call in as many days and an email they returned my call. They said sorry we have a legal contract and it is final sale no returns. Yes it is my fault that I didn't read the fine print and trusted the salesperson regarding the 100 day return so I guess this poor review is to warn others who don't always read the pages of disclosure. I recommend that if you really want that inferior product to have the salesperson read to you word for word all the disclosure pages, maybe this will teach them to be more honorable. In my opinion I don't know how they sleep at night with their inferior product and morally questionable sales practices. I recommend they go to Mancini's Sleepworld and buy their beds there, that would fix half their problem. I truly hope I saved some poor unsuspecting buyers over $4000 with this post. read more

Wow I wish I listened to all the bad reviews on here. We just received our i8 sleep number bed and didn't sleep at all last nigh. The pump isn't working properly, the sleep IQ that tracks your sleep is completely wrong and I feel like we were basically sold something that was not at all what we were told it would be. Now we have to wait over a week for them to try to fix the issue. I'm not even sure they can... I might as well begin the return process. So we bought a sleep number bed and adjustable base. Although we had been very happy with our Tempur-Pedic bed, we were really looking forward to the Sleep Number bed. We had heard great things about it. $4800 in total. 2 weeks in, my back was really bothering me. I returned to the store, where they told me nothing, really. Said if I had a bad back, it wouldn't cure it. I told them I wasn't expecting a cure, but was this normal. Not a lot of feedback. I waited another 2 weeks, and the bed finally broke in, but we just didn't love it. I called customer service to set up a return, spoke with a rep that was short with me, had an attitude about the return. They then charge $200 to pick it up, after charging $200 for delivery. So we paid $400 for delivery and pickup for the Sleep Number bed, and just found out that we were charged for the 2 pillows that out our salesman said he was giving us for free at the time of sale. They refused to refund that money. The new Serta Icloud bed we replaced it with from Mattress Firm on Broadway is phenomenal, super comfortable. We were instructed by our salesman that it can take up to 4 weeks to break it in (which it didn't), told to sleep in different areas of the bed to break it in right, to turn it head to toe after 30 days, and he threw in 2 free really comfortable Columbia Cool Sleep pillows. We were offered free return pick up if we didn't like it. Overall, a very different experience. I would not recommend Sleep Number, and would highly recommend Mattress Firm. read more

We purchased a bed three weeks ago. Leroy was a great salesman, but so far dealing with the company has been horrible. I waited 4 hours for a delivery: a part was missing and no one called to say it wasn't coming. I called Leroy, who said he would call me back. He never called back. I was left to deal with home delivery which average wait time is 45 minutes on hold. After 3 days of calling, Julie finally called with a new delivery date in 3 weeks. I was promised free shipping for my inconvenience on my first call. Suspiciously, it was not in the notes? I decided to Yelp sleep number and found a case of black mold, problems of bait and switch, AND a problem with returning beds. I was particularly surprised by the problems with the broken air chamber. If I have problems working with the delivery, I am wondering what it would be like to deal with them if I have a problem. Since I have three weeks until delivery I bought a bed. I left three messages at the store and none were returned so I had someone else call and they were told we would have to call customer service. After being on hold half an hour the person asked us to hold and we were disconnected so we called again and hope this will see a refund as promised. read more

Although my experience in trying out the bed in the store was good; no pressure to get moving, the rest of it was awe full . She would not give me a quote of total cost unless she had my name and address .Saw the quote in the shop and was surprised by the high home delivery charge, was not explained that I had a choice until I almost walked out and then was told could have it delivered by UPS. Once home discovered that they charged sales tax on recycle fee and UPS ground delivery. It always has been my understanding there is no sales tax on delivery. the store told me to call the corporate office, so I did and the person was quite rude, told me they would not charge it if it was not allowed. so I asked if I just pay for ups and not home delivery then he said I would save $90.00. It all sounded very fishy. I wonder how they would be if something goes wrong, besides after reading Lea's and Jody's review I think I ought to explore my other options read more

Would you like to trade back problems for respiratory problems? Not only does this mattress give off a serious amount of off-gassing when it is new, it has developed mold...twice. When we moved last year, we took apart the mattress and found mold on the underside of the foam. It was replaced, but now when I went to do some deep cleaning and lifted up the new foam mattress, it has the same black mold on it. So far they said they will only replace it once, but even if they finally replace it a second time, what will happen in 6 months? Who wants to sleep on mold? You can't even sell a house with mold problems. I enjoyed our previous Heavenly mattress, but we originally purchased this to deal with back problems. I was waiting a while to post a review, hoping to share the good and bad details about my new bed that I purchased in May. The truth is, there is nothing bad to share....except maybe that my bed is so comfortable that I have to force myself out of it each day! This is my first time owning a sleep number bed. I stumbled upon this store by accident, thanks to some signs posted in the nearby parking garage. I had seen commercials, but didn't get what the big deal was all about. I am so happy that I stepped into this store. My bed is so comfortable that my family members prefer to stay with me in my studio apartment while in town, rather than at a nearby hotel (perhaps my loss? But at least they are happy!). I bought the dual chamber bed which means that each side can be set on different settings, based on your comfortability. If you are thinking about trying one, definitely stop by the store to test one out. Leroy is wonderful at this location. I highly recommend working with him. read more

The bed is good. My customer experience has been horrible. I paid for the bed November 5, 2015. Today is March 28, 2016. The headboard is still not set up. They told us it would take one month. They took three months instead and then said they didn't have the headboard. We told them to wait until they could deliver and set it up all at once. They said ok, and then showed up a couple days later with the bed, no headboard. A month or so later, they Calle sand said the headboard was ready. They showed up with a second bed, the headboard, but no headboard brackets. (I wish I had kept the second bed.). So they set the headboard box in my garage and promised to get the brackets soon. And then all was quiet. I finally went back to the store, and they tried to help, but in the end, customer service called again and said they would come out in a couple of weeks and set it up. Then one day, the brackets were delivered by UPS, and no set up. And total silence. As compensation earlier in the process, they offered to cut $200 off the price of a $400 part. That's after having my $10,000 plus in cash for over four (now almost five) months. This company is failing at keeping up with its sales team. I love my sleep number mattress but have had nothing but trouble with the adjustable bed which is from Leggett & Pratt. Three service calls have been "cancelled" and now "maybe next week." I have told them for three weeks that my bed is in a half upright position and I can't sleep like this and I need it serviced. Appointments are not kept although I have waited at home for hours for appointments that were set up. The remote has been replaced and the new one doesn't work either. They say to check the batteries because the ones that they send although wrapped as though new, are old. Had already done that. Four service techs on the phone couldn't help me. I would like to return the adjustable part, but now I can't even get them on the phone. If you buy a bed, don't buy the adjustable one, and also check prices from other places because I was totally ripped off. The good news is that the people in the store are very nice but unable to help with the adjustable part since they don't own that. read more
