I came across their website and decided to visit their Hermitage location. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a delightful gentleman named John. I explained to him what I was looking for and the issues I had with my previous mattress shopping experience and he was happy to help me. Even more impressive was that I showed him the tag from the mattress in my guest room that I really like that was 10+ years old, he was able to tell me all about it and while they don't make them anymore, he was able to tell me about all of the improvements they have made on the current models. They had a large selection of mattresses and John was able to show me the ones he thought I would like based on my preferences, and even explained the differences between the various options. He was very knowledgeable and not pushy at all. *Tip* If you sign up for their "Outlet Pass", they'll email you a voucher for an additional discount off of your mattress. Mine was already marked down to a great deal (less than half of what you would pay elsewhere) and they were able to take an additional $100 off. Boy was I wrong, and my back paid the price. The next day, I showed up to Marks Mattress Outlet and was greeted immediately upon arrival by Jerry. He asked me what I was looking for and was able to find the perfect mattress (pillow soft, firm, mix, etc.) for me. Not only that, but when he heard I was in pain from sleeping on an air mattress, he called his delivery people to see if they could deliver the same day (unfortunately they were booked with deliveries all day which speaks to how well the store does). I thought I would be dropping thousands of dollars for a brand name mattress, but it was incredibly priced and next business day delivery was impeccable. I had previously requested to lower my insurance coverage to reduce the rate, and I even signed the form to do so, but that adjustment was never applied. When I finally noticed the massive charge and contacted them, I was told I would have to either cancel insurance entirely or continue paying the inflated price. The issue isn't the dollar amount. It's the principle of raising rates significantly without notifying customers and making it difficult to adjust coverage that was already agreed to. It feels predatory, especially for anyone who is out of town or in a situation where checking every monthly statement isn't immediate. To be clear, the staff I spoke with were professional when I finally got someone on the phone. But the pricing practices here are the problem. If you store your belongings here longer than a couple of months, expect your rate to spike and to have to chase down explanations. I would strongly caution anyone considering long-term storage at this location. The business model appears to rely on increasing rates once you're already locked in.

There is always also a large sale/clearance area that is easy to look through. I am also always more pleased with the selection at the Gulch than I am at Green Hills. Parking isn't too bad either because the garage parking is free for the first 59 minutes.
