Horrible experience at The Container Store in Nashville TN two months ago…read more I went to pick up some things and was going to talk to someone about elfa closets. Saw only two people on the sales floor in the Elfa area who both ignored me. I finally stopped a lady who walked past me to discuss the plans I had for my closets. She acted like I was bothering her. I frankly gave up on buying elfa. I then went to go pay for what I intended to purchase and found only one register open and 8 people in line. At that point I decided to seek out the manager. I went back into the store and now found that NO ONE a was on the floor. Looked in every nook and cranny and found no one other than other customers wandering. I then found what appeared to be magnetic access cards and a Zebra hand held device laying in the open on a display rack! I waited 15 minutes for the manager to finally appear. I asked why I had found no one on the floor to help customers. I also handed her the security tags that were left behind. Her response? "we are badly understaffed and working to unload our truck". I asked her if customers spending money were not important? She barely responded and could have cared less. (she did not even act alarmed or concerned about the security tags and the zebra device) I called their headquarters in Dallas and have never had any response from them. Two weeks ago I was in one of their stores in the Denver Area and experienced the same thing.... only two people on the entire floor in Elfa both involved with customers... Sad to see a company I have shopped at for 35 years go down hill so badly. This company consistently ranked top on "Best Places to Work" years ago and now could now care less about their customers. I just looked at Fortune Magazines top places for 2024 list .... 100 companies and Container Store is not even on the list. Sad. I left my cart behind and ordered on Amazon....

We narrowed it down and she took down all of the information and told me that I would have a proof via email by that evening or Monday at the latest. I reminded her again that I was in a hurry to get them and she said they could get them done quickly, no problem. She also told me that they would cost about $2 - $2.25 each, which was perfect. I didn't hear from anyone so first thing Tuesday morning, I called and left a message. Layne returned my phone call and told me that the owner had tried to email me and had the wrong email address. (Hard to believe since I saw her write it down on Friday and they had my phone number as well...). She gave me the new quote for the invites which was now over $4 each- almost double what I was originally told. She asked for my approval to move ahead and CREATE a proof.... they hadn't even started. So, not only did everything about our original discussion change, but they had put me behind by almost 5 additional days. Luckily, I was able to get great invites on weddingpaperdivas.com and pay a rush fee to get them quickly. The sad thing is, the shop is very cute! I am in the period of life where I have all sorts of showers, parties, etc and I'm always in need of invites. However, I will take my business elsewhere and encourage my friends to do the same. They don't seem concerned about their customers or making right on their promises. I wasn't even offered an apology! Oh, and I got an email right after my phone conversation with Layne so I guess they did have my correct email address... Don't waste your time here.
