    I had one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had at the Ashley Furniture store in Mt. Juliet, TN, specifically with an employee named Marland Young. His behavior was rude, disrespectful, and downright unprofessional. On my first visit, I was ready to buy a dresser priced around $1,100, but noticed over $500 in unexplained fees on the receipt. I told Mr. Young I'd come back later and left. My wife later ordered the dresser online instead. A few days later, I returned--not about the dresser, but to exchange a table we had previously bought from him for the same one in a different color. Mr. Young immediately brought up my earlier visit and accused me of being "rude" just for walking away. He repeatedly said he "shouldn't even be helping me" and made a public scene in front of other employees and the store manager, who stood by and didn't say a single word throughout the entire incident. Mr. Young even showed something on his iPad to his coworkers while looking at me, and they laughed--completely unprofessional. When I tried to end the interaction, he told me to take a picture of him, grabbed his nametag, and said I could go ahead and file a complaint because he didn't care. His exact words were, "This isn't customer service--this is sales." The entire experience felt hostile and retaliatory. The lack of professionalism from both Mr. Young and the store manager was shocking. When we later visited the Franklin Ashley store, they immediately offered 25% off everything and treated us with respect--something Mt. Juliet could learn from. If he's going to make that big of a scene simply because I changed my mind about a purchase, he needs to get thicker skin if he's going to work in this industry. It's no wonder this location only has 1.5 stars--it's clearly well deserved.

    So I'm sure folks have figured out by now that I could write a novel about my experience with Ashley. I want to say that the people at this location have been nice and always have tried to help me. Corporate offices are difficult to work with. You'll see from my precious posts that my sofa was purchased in 10/19 arrived in 01/20 with damage and was finally just repaired in 7/20. My dining table that was also purchased at the same time is literally peeling. I showed this to the tech who came out for the sofa. He said "yep they'll have to replace it with another". But I can't get anyone on the phone, ever. I just spent another 15 minutes on hold. Nobody ever picks up their phones. I have complained here until someone from corporate reached out to me, but they just say someone will call you. They never do. The customer service here barely exists. If you have any question about whether you should buy furniture from Ashley, I ask you to please spare yourself the problems I have experienced with them and go elsewhere. The products are cheap and the service is not good. It appears that they could care less about their customers. I'm sure nobody goes back a second time.

    Worst furniture buying experience in my life. In January, we purchased 3 mattress sets and two bedroom sets, which included head boards, foot boards, side rails, night stands and chests/dressers. The invoice stated that "due to covid-19" (which seems to be an all-too-convenient go-to excuse for businesses to use these days, as justification for bad service) the average turnaround time is 10-12 weeks from purchase. However, their call center customer service staff gave me earlier delivery dates for all items, when I called them for updates. Three weeks after purchase, they delivered head and foot boards for the King bedroom set (no side rails and slight damage to the headboard), as well as the King mattress but not the foundation. They delivered side rails for the Queen bedroom set, but no head or foot board, and 2 Queen mattresses without foundations for either. They also delivered night stands. Then we spent the next 5 weeks with no further deliveries; we slept on mattresses on the floor. When they showed up with the mattress foundations, they refused to take them to the rooms where they were supposed to go, claiming I hadn't paid for the "white glove" delivery (meanwhile the furniture they delivered 5 weeks prior was delivered to each of the rooms where it belonged, because we had indeed paid for "white glove" delivery. Ashley uses a third-party delivery system, meaning they farm out their deliveries to day laborers who don't actually work for Ashley, so they are non-responsive to anything you tell them. We had (2) Queen foundations and (1) 2-piece King foundation standing in the entryway inside our front door. As of today, we are at 14 weeks since date of purchase, our mattresses and foundations are still on the floor, with no delivery scheduled for the remaining pieces we purchased. A couple of weeks ago, the call center gave me delivery dates, but those dates came and went with no deliveries. When I call the Mt. Juliet store, the phone just rings and rings, and nobody answers. Very unprofessional. I recommend you steer clear of Ashley HomeStore for your furniture needs. They are impossible to deal with, don't answer their phones, items arrive damaged, if they arrive at all, and then they leave them at the doorway, the delivery dates they do give you are not accurate, and the estimated 10-12 week turnover time is a blatant lie!

While it may not be a huge spot, it is filled to the brim with goods of all varieties and is certainly still a store that I can and have easily been entertained at for a while. We popped in looking for some furniture in the form of a dining table set and we ended up leaving with a candle, some outdoor lights and a cooler...none of which we were after or truly in need of. Back to the table...they had a table we loved, but they had it due to some damage on it and unfortunately the scratch was a little too deep to fix so we sadly passed. Most of the items are new in package, but they do sell second life items that feature some variety of damage. Nothing glaring, but enough to be noticeable on most of these items. Overall, The Yard Sale Store was a cool spot to spend some time on a weekend afternoon. While we do not find ourselves in Mt. Juliet too often, when we do...this place with be on the radar!

    Amazing customer service!!!…read more After a horrible experience with Mattress Firm, I started searching for somewhere else I could purchase a mattress. I came across their website and decided to visit their Hermitage location. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a delightful gentleman named John. I explained to him what I was looking for and the issues I had with my previous mattress shopping experience and he was happy to help me. Even more impressive was that I showed him the tag from the mattress in my guest room that I really like that was 10+ years old, he was able to tell me all about it and while they don't make them anymore, he was able to tell me about all of the improvements they have made on the current models. They had a large selection of mattresses and John was able to show me the ones he thought I would like based on my preferences, and even explained the differences between the various options. He was very knowledgeable and not pushy at all. *Tip* If you sign up for their "Outlet Pass", they'll email you a voucher for an additional discount off of your mattress. Mine was already marked down to a great deal (less than half of what you would pay elsewhere) and they were able to take an additional $100 off. I highly recommend this place and will encourage all of my friends and family to check it out.

Boy was I wrong, and my back paid the price. The next day, I showed up to Marks Mattress Outlet and was greeted immediately upon arrival by Jerry. He asked me what I was looking for and was able to find the perfect mattress (pillow soft, firm, mix, etc.) for me. Not only that, but when he heard I was in pain from sleeping on an air mattress, he called his delivery people to see if they could deliver the same day (unfortunately they were booked with deliveries all day which speaks to how well the store does). I thought I would be dropping thousands of dollars for a brand name mattress, but it was incredibly priced and next business day delivery was impeccable. Highly recommend this store for anyone looking to buy a new mattress, and DEFINITELY recommend for any newcomers moving to Nashville. I can't express my gratitude enough for the kindness and professionalism Jerry and the delivery men exhibited in finding and delivering my mattress.
