    It's nice and cozy overall.

I only visit Chicago as of now to see my wife at Great Lakes. This hotel is in a great location. The base is less than a 15 min drive. Then Libertyville is right up the road with great places to eat and some shopping. Gurnee mall and Hawthorn mall aren't far from this place either. The room has all that I need, as I travel alone. It is clean and doesn't smell. Isn't loud and I haven't seen any dogs! Free breakfast. You get the money's worth if you are going to visit your Sailor!!

We had a great stay during our recent trip to Great Lakes for my sons bootcamp graduation. Great location, close to NEX to pick up tickets and the base for pick up and drop off of my sailor. Easy check in, cozy room, small beds (full size), good continental breakfast, coffee & tea 24/7. At check-in we were told about the hotel shuttle service to graduation and figured they'd know the best way to get us in and out quickly. They have two time slots available and they have several pick up times also, your soldier rides free if he's off immediately after (most were not). After graduation we were greeted with celebratory chocolate cake, cookies & coffee/tea. When we realized my son would be staying with us we were given extra blankets, sheets and towels to accommodate him. The room is to small for a rollout bed. I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

For the cost of this Sleep Inn it was great. Complimentary breakfast is not bad. Scrambled eggs and sausage. Cereal and cold milk. Several baskets of fresh fruit. Special recognition to Andy, I believe he was the manager, who saved my professional piece of equipment I had left behind until I was able to come back. Very satisfied with my stay here.

Nice place to stay if you're visiting for graduation. Upon check in, the receptionist gave us a welcome bag with snacks and information about the graduation; it was a pleasant surprise. The hotel provides breakfast in the morning (starting at 6am on regular days and 5:30am for graduation days) and coffee and tea is provided throughout the day. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. There was even cake being served at the lobby during our stay. The rooms are decent and pretty clean, the only down side of the stay was that the walls are pretty thin. But overall we had a good stay here.

Sleep Inn recognizes Navy Bootcamp graduates w cake & posts pictures on the lobby tv screen. Family door decorations are posted as well!

Plenty of surface parking right outside.

Check-in was quick and friendly; staff were warm and helpful from start to finish. They keep things professional without losing that personal touch. Big appreciation for the shuttle driver. I didn't catch his name. We booked the 7:00 AM shuttle and rolled up to the gate 8 at 7:09. By 7:13, we were seated inside the venue. Meanwhile, we passed a line of cars at least 100 plus deep--easily an hour + wait, maybe more. If you're attending graduation: don't drive. Seriously, you'll regret it. The shuttle is reliable, fast, and way less stressful. The rooms were neat and functional. Pillows were firm, which we appreciate. Nothing fancy, but comfortable and clean, with solid Wi-Fi. It's quiet, pet-friendly, and perfect if you're bringing a four-legged sidekick. Continental breakfast is basic. Boiled eggs, package slices of bread, bagels and fruit,. Basically, grab-and-go items to start your morning, but don't expect a full spread. Still, it's convenient for early starts.

ATTENTION NAVY FAMILIES! STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK, NOT…read moreRECOMMENDED!!!!! We book our stay two months prior for our sons bootcamp graduation, we went by the list that the Navy recommended. I was so excited that forgot to yelp this hotel and boy did I regret it. We stayed 6 nights and here is our experience. The day we arrived, I was asked for my DL and credit card, which it was already paid in advance, it was a few of us so we had to get two rooms, when we booked our rooms, I requested for two adjacent rooms if possible with a door in between if not next to each other, two queen beds each. We arrived and at the front desk a man by the name Mike was there, he told me I was getting one room with two queen beds and one room with a king size bed, I said no there must be a mistake, I specifically ask for two beds in each room. He then proceeded to say no you get what I have for you. Very rude disrespectful voice. I tried to explain to him that it was a few of us and two queen beds was needed, he started raising his voice at us and I told him to calm down. At one point I was like WTF is wrong with you?! Cause I was done listening to his screams. He went to say he had been working there for more than 30 years and I did not have to curse at him, I told him I wasn't cursing at him but to the fact that we had a few family members and needed two queen beds in each room, he tried to kick me out of the hotel, not wanting to give me access to the rooms that were already paid for and refuse to give me my money back. I told him if you are not giving me a refund then I need the two rooms I already paid for two months ago. He wanted me to apologize to him. He then threatens to call the Navy police and "other connections" that he had. I told him to go ahead and call whoever the F*** he wanted to call; he would either give me my money back or give me the keys to our rooms. He proceeded to tell me to leave or apologize, I told him look, at this point we are tired, jetlagged, hungry and I have children with me and my senior parents that need their daily prescribed medication and oxygen tank. After 20 minutes of back and forth, he finally gave me the keys to our rooms, but as we walked away, he was still screaming at us and demanding an apology. Not only that, but our rooms were not ready, we had to wait for 2 hours in our rental. We get to our rooms and one of them the TV was not working. They tried to figure out what was wrong, and they couldn't figure it out, it took them two days to replace the TV. The rest of our stay we encountered cockroaches, flies, cigarette smell when we requested non-smoking section, the keys stop working after the third day, we had all sort of bugs in our rooms, clogged sinks, water leaks coming from the tub and toilet, beds were never made, no microwave. And the night before we checked out, we were awaken by the same employee Mike arguing with another family in the lobby, couldn't make out what they were saying but as I proceed to get closer to the front desk (I had to go to my rental and get something) I can hear them arguing in Spanish in regards to some issues with the guests room. He was yelling at them like he did to me and my family. I have never felt to threaten in front of my children and senior parents. Sorry for this long review but I felt like it needed to be told. We couldn't book other rooms in another hotel since it was graduation week and all were either booked or way overpriced for last minute booking. If you are here to stay for your child's bootcamp graduation, congratulations but I recommend you stay elsewhere.

First visit back in March 2024 was a pleasant one, so decided to try it out again at this hotel after finding a reservation with very good rates a month ahead of time. When checking in at the front desk at 2:40 PM on Wednesday, 8/21/24, was greeted right away by the employees. I received excellent service for my reservation booking and even got complimentary bottles of water along with some information regarding the Navy Boot Camp. The packet contained important timings and directions for the graduation ceremony as well as places nearby to eat at and visit. In addition, requesting for extra bath towels, body lotion, and some toothpaste were met with care and in a timely manner from our hotel room. Requesting for toiletries and bath items from Housekeeping when they came by to clean the room was met with great expectations! Amenities around the hotel and restaurants, retail stores nearby was a plus, as they were walkable and very accessible! We really enjoyed our stay once again! Good service. Parking spaces are kind of narrow, though. If there are inconsiderate people who park outside the lines and are too lazy to fix their cars, it is hard to find a nice space to park correctly in.
