This hotel/condo space was set on a golf course in a rather rural (pretty) area of Illinois, off the beaten path.

As I walked to it I saw a really nice indoor pool that I found to be a lovely touch to my vacation. The bed was comfortable and the place just looked sharp! Put that in combination with the price I paid and it was a 10 out of 10. If you're looking for a clean, modern and well run hotel at a reasonable price with kind workers and a nice bed this is the place. Located right next to the mall there is plenty of shopping and I even was able to walk to Steak and Shake for a little dinner. Loved it. This is the place. I will be back.

This is a solid 2 to 3 star hotel…read more The building is dated, but has been renovated. There are foundational things that just can't be changed, but overall we found the hallways and the common areas to be kind of drag. The rooms we stayed in (we had two for our group) were clean, everything working properly and updated but not in a modern way. We stayed two nights and while the halls are pretty loud when people are talking or running thru, it was quiet and I got a good nights sleep. There is a fridge, microwave, small coffee maker in the room. TV worked great. Internet free WiFi was okay. One area that could make it better would be a bit of a step up on the free breakfast - it was busy in there and there are so many chairs and tables but they are large, heavy and awkward. The other area to improve would be the food itself - not much was offered (we were there a Friday and Saturday morning) and it could easily hold some more options such as more items to toast, hard boiled eggs, other grab/go options like yogurts, etc. Coffee station was stocked and decent. Key to this hotel is location - right off 94, next to Gurnee Mills and a quick walk/drive to many places to eat and shop. I likely wouldn't pick this again but we had a last minute trip and this worked for us.

This hotel specializes in hosting military families who are in town for graduation and do their best to help us make the most out of our time with our loved ones. Booked a room for my son after he had to leave his Airbnb bc of gunshots outside as well as a group of men approaching his car at the red light. It was the middle of the night so had to reserve room for an 8am checkin- it was only 3am at this point. He had not had any sleep and tried to wait in the lobby until check in and was screamed at by a hotel employee that he was not allowed to wait in the lobby. He called me, and I told them we are Marriott timeshare owners ( gold elite bonvoy) and asked if there was a resolution where he could even just wait in his car until his room was ready. ( I had already paid the $268 for it) was told no- they didnt care and if he was on property until his room was ready they would call the police on him. He is a mild mannered, quiet kid so he wasnt causing any disturbance, except for the hotel employee, when she started screaming at him. I explained that he would be unsafe driving without sleep and trying to wait for his room at a gas station at 3am in Chicago and they said that is not their problem. I told them to just cancel the reservation. He had to drive an hour and a half to find a hotel and we were lucky he did not fall asleep at the wheel. I called the hotel the next day and the manager, Robert doubled down and said they handled everything appropriately. Is this the way you treat your guest, your Marriott timeshare owners, bonvoy members? No apology, no care, no concern?

Got downstairs for dinner, was told that we could sit anywhere except for the one table the birthday boy wanted to sit at, got upstairs after dinner to find the bathroom sink wouldn't drain, there were swarms of mosquitos that got into the room somehow, and looked up to see dozens of mosquito corpses on the ceiling that were obviously never cleaned up. Oh, and when I called the front desk to complain, nobody answered. Went downstairs to talk to the front desk and nobody was there. Promptly packed our belongings, left the key in the drop box and left this dump. When I got home and tried to call and email, received no answer and a message that their system was down for maintenance. How convenient! It has been two days since I was able to successfully email them and nobody has even bothered to answer me. These people should be ashamed of themselves!!!!! I will be reporting this experience to everyone and anyone who will listen. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS DUMP!!!!!

Definitely outdated, a bit run down, and just not a very high-quality stay. The rooms are rooms,…read moreplain and simple. No special amenities, features, or even much in the way of conveniences. Ceiling tiles in hallways are broken or missing. There are extra charging ports and outlets on the end table near the beds. This would be helpful, except the outlets are so used, beaten and loose that my chargers and medical device wouldn't even stay plugged in. I had to go out and buy an extension cord just to finally be able to use my devices by the bed. Smaller room issues: The shower had hair in it when my family first arrived. The TV channel selection is mid with older style televisions. The air conditioner makes loud and odd sounds all night long. Crumbs and other debris were on the floor. Service is mostly okay. Counter people are usually nice enough, but service to the rooms leaves a lot to be desired. They only make beds, empty trash, replace towels/washcloths, and do any cleaning every other day. When people regularly use this hotel to go to Six Flags Great America, expecting everyone to use linens multiple days seems a little nasty. This especially rings true for the washcloths used to wash our bodies with. We had garbage and dirty towels piled up since we're on vacation and are eating out and shopping regularly. Eww. The Hampton Inn does serve free breakfast in the mornings. This is also generally just okay. You can make your own waffles, which my children do enjoy. There are also eggs, meat, and potatoes that you can grab, along with other assorted breakfast items (bagels, toast, oatmeal, etc...). The cooked items can vary from day to day on how well they taste or even look. I appreciate a free breakfast, it is available for 4 hours, and I mostly did enjoy the available items. There is a laundry room (also outdated), tiny fitness closet (technically a room), and a little pool. Nothing around here really stands out other than it's convenient proximity to Six Flags Great America and Gurnee Mills. This is our second time staying here, and I'm not sure I'll be booking it for my next family vacation.

Wow! Came across…read morethis hotel and thought it'd be worth trying something different. This is not your normal, cookie cutter hotel! The details in decor, the warmth and ambiance really creates an enjoyable experience. Other hotels are very sterile feeling, but this has small details that just make you say, wow! A kitchenette, stocked with dishes, bowls, pots & pans, a Keurig, 2 K-Cups. A dishwasher, microwave, 2 top Electric stove, sink with a small table and 2 chairs. Apartment size fridge too. Working fireplace, bookshelf with a small collection of books, huge closet, large daybed/couch and queen size bed. Bathroom is huge too. Very clean, stocked with toiletries and fresh towels. Two things I'd suggest; add more lighting, and a bedside table or two with capabilities to plug in cell phone or other items. Otherwise, definitely need to visit this Inn in Zion! It is completely offensive this place so proudly proclaims itself a women run hotel…read more Why? Because it is the worst run hotel for a hundred miles in any direction. Without getting into all the small things like only having two towels in a double occupancy when we all know someone's going to need to wrap their hair, like entertainment equipment so poorly cared for you're jiggling HDMI cables like it's a set of rabbit ears from 1978... They make you sign a form indicating quiet hours begin at 10p & then host private parties in the ball room which run until 11p with amplified music you can hear three floors away. Never mind the women they hire are precisely the sort which make it impossible for other women to be taken seriously in the work place because they're under trained, apprehensive, poorly spoken, surly, unable to make decisions, speak in a full voice with confidence in the knowledge of what they're saying... We've put up with the place for a few years now because they landed the Bristol Fair package deal & we really want shuttle service to & from an event involving alcohol, but at this point, I'd rather walk the two and a half miles from the fair to the Double Tree than put up with this place one more night.
