Definitely outdated, a bit run down, and just not a very high-quality stay. The rooms are rooms,…read moreplain and simple. No special amenities, features, or even much in the way of conveniences. Ceiling tiles in hallways are broken or missing. There are extra charging ports and outlets on the end table near the beds. This would be helpful, except the outlets are so used, beaten and loose that my chargers and medical device wouldn't even stay plugged in. I had to go out and buy an extension cord just to finally be able to use my devices by the bed. Smaller room issues: The shower had hair in it when my family first arrived. The TV channel selection is mid with older style televisions. The air conditioner makes loud and odd sounds all night long. Crumbs and other debris were on the floor. Service is mostly okay. Counter people are usually nice enough, but service to the rooms leaves a lot to be desired. They only make beds, empty trash, replace towels/washcloths, and do any cleaning every other day. When people regularly use this hotel to go to Six Flags Great America, expecting everyone to use linens multiple days seems a little nasty. This especially rings true for the washcloths used to wash our bodies with. We had garbage and dirty towels piled up since we're on vacation and are eating out and shopping regularly. Eww. The Hampton Inn does serve free breakfast in the mornings. This is also generally just okay. You can make your own waffles, which my children do enjoy. There are also eggs, meat, and potatoes that you can grab, along with other assorted breakfast items (bagels, toast, oatmeal, etc...). The cooked items can vary from day to day on how well they taste or even look. I appreciate a free breakfast, it is available for 4 hours, and I mostly did enjoy the available items. There is a laundry room (also outdated), tiny fitness closet (technically a room), and a little pool. Nothing around here really stands out other than it's convenient proximity to Six Flags Great America and Gurnee Mills. This is our second time staying here, and I'm not sure I'll be booking it for my next family vacation.

The lobby is very contemporary with working stations and seating areas. The reception desk is to the left as you walk in. The agent, was very friendly and helpful regarding directions to Gurnee Mills. She also went over the amenities of the the hotel. The room, pre-selected prior to arrival, is well layed out. The room has a great sitting/working area. For convenience, there is a compact refrigerator and a microwave in the room. The hotel amenities include a fitness center, laundry room and an outside pool which is closed for the season. Of course, there is the complimentary breakfast, is served to the right of the main entrance. Overall, a great hotel stay at with friendly staff.

What is troubling is that the walls are so thin that I actually thought someone was in the room a few times an it was next door neighbor. Also this neighbor microwaved chicken that made the entire wing smell for hours -is there no insolation in these walls? I chose to come here because they accept dogs. Is there no understanding the nature of dogs? I had dental surgery - informed them of this and the male person who was at the front desk in the morning who was not friendly did not say good morning or any other acknowledgement was informed of same. 1/2 into the surgery he was complaining that the dog was barking. There is a dog next door and all over the facility did he honestly think that the dog would not bark. I was gone a total of 1 hour! Please educate yourself on animals and not just collect the pet fee. I know that not everyone loves animals. But if you come to work and know that they will be there perhaps some education is in order.

Once the kiddos were down the adults had the pleasure of hanging out at Twyla's the in house bar. Which is where we met his amazing Bartender (Steph), (Chris) the server and (Jorge) the bar back. All of them were great as well as the drinks. We even felt a little chilly in the pool area and the housekeeping guy (Oscar) turned up the pool temp and the area. My family is already looking forward to returning once the renovations are done. Can't wait to see the upgrades. Mr. Khayat also bought my son a few pizzas and chicken from his restaurant (Fatmans) which my Autistic son loved so much we had to stop there and get a few before we went back home to Milwaukee. Definitely a 10/10 Thus place is definitely worth trying out. Oh yeah and Kala at the front desk rocks. We WILL BE BACK

Stayed one night so didn't have much time to use the outside the room facilities, but the room itself was exactly what we needed. There is plenty of parking all around the facility (it is quite large in terms of area, not so much in terms of floors). Each of the entrances are controlled by key card, and it makes sense to move your car to the entrance/exit closest to your room, once you check in. The bathroom had one sink with plenty of counterspace, tub/shower combo. They do expect more than 2 people staying in the suite, so provided 4 towels. Water pressure was barely adequate and temperature was good, but easy to control. Dove products (soaps, lotions) were provided, which I hadn't realized was a thing. The temperature was a bit harder to control. Each room had its own floor climate control unit that could be used to turn on/off, but there was also a wall thermostat that seemed to be on. We just used the floor unit and the rooms got quite cooler, even with the hot outside temperature. Everything was worn, and could use a facelift...but the location is really good, and the charged price is commiserate with the value given. It wasn't very crowded (probably because of the newer hotels closer to the Mills)...so probably a good choice if needing a quick place to turn down without much notice.

My kid graduated and they were very accommodating and with last minute add of a room. I travel a lot for work and customer service is key! I also had a great experience with Chad on the phone, who was also very helpful and patient! I again recommend this hotel!

Thanks Sabrina Nicole four showing great leadership in your Inn. It shows through the staff. Keep up the good work.

First visit back in March 2024 was a pleasant one, so decided to try it out again at this hotel after finding a reservation with very good rates a month ahead of time. When checking in at the front desk at 2:40 PM on Wednesday, 8/21/24, was greeted right away by the employees. I received excellent service for my reservation booking and even got complimentary bottles of water along with some information regarding the Navy Boot Camp. The packet contained important timings and directions for the graduation ceremony as well as places nearby to eat at and visit. In addition, requesting for extra bath towels, body lotion, and some toothpaste were met with care and in a timely manner from our hotel room. Requesting for toiletries and bath items from Housekeeping when they came by to clean the room was met with great expectations! Amenities around the hotel and restaurants, retail stores nearby was a plus, as they were walkable and very accessible! We really enjoyed our stay once again! Good service. Parking spaces are kind of narrow, though. If there are inconsiderate people who park outside the lines and are too lazy to fix their cars, it is hard to find a nice space to park correctly in.
