This is not your 4 or 5 star place but it was not bad for it being paid for and only staying a few days. I came here for a training event and stayed here for 2 nights. It is not a spot i would have picked but it was better than i thought. Checkin was quick and easy. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. They have a TV, microwave, fridge, iron and safe in the room. It is pretty quiet at night also. They had breakfast in the morning but I did not partake as the training started early and they had breakfast. The shower was good too. There are also plenty of restaurants and shopping in walking distance. They even have an outdoor pool. One downside was no workout room. The towels and beds are only done on the 3rd day unless you request otherwise. Staff was friendly. I would recommend it for a brief visit or if you need a room. It was good for a brief stay. If I was in the area again I may stay as there does not seen to be many other locations around. Overall it was ok. read more

One of the worst stays in a decade. In town for my son's graduation from MSU with my parents, who chose the hotel. Started off by pulling in the wrong drive, the sign is next to a bank exit drive. Checked in in afternoon and asked if our two rooms could be next to one another. I was told "they'd do their best". My parents checked in about an hour after us and evidently, the "best" was half a building apart but on the same floor at least. We did not see nor hear anyone in room across or next to us the entire evening or the next morning. All the lights and appliances were unplugged the parents' room and once I plugged in the TV it would not connect to the satellite. No response from mgmt. until after 11:00 PM obviously didn't need it fixed at that point. No desk chair in our room, asked twice after check-in and was told first "we'll get you one", then told "let me see what I can do." Chair never came, ended up borrowing my parents chair. The toilet paper holder was broken. The sink vanity didn't seem too sturdy. No tissues in room. Mattress were cheap and thin. The rear stair security card reader didn't work. We were driving and desperately needed to stop due to terrible road conditions. The rooms weren't much, not super clean and they smelled like smoke. The staff at checkin was friendly and the water pressure was absolutely fantastic! Breakfast was a decent array of muffins, waffles, bagels and yogurt. This "hotel" has a musty odor as soon as you walk in. I tried to stay there but when I went into my room, maintenance was finishing caulking the window and told me to stay out until they finished vacuuming up the GLASS on the floor. My dog had to use two towels as it was wet outside and they considered the room unusable to resell so they were adamant that they would not refund the room. I didn't stay there as they tried to get me to go somewhere else in the hotel (even though the whole hallway smelled like chemicals). The hotel staff was really nice except for Miranda. read more

Employees are very unfriendly starting at the front desk! Rooms were fine but for 300 for the weekend I expected more. Continental breakfast is over at 930, but make it before then because they don't replenish. Only 2 towels in the room. The lady at the desk did find me some however. Lobby was clean. Rooms were clean except the first one, which had some stains. Moved to another room. Housekeeping was nice however. Just very overpriced and junky hotel. read more

Our room was clean, in good repair and comfortable...can't ask for more than that on a quick overnight trip. The carpeting in the hallways and up the stairs was a bit tatty, but I wasn't sleeping out there, so I didn't care. Complimentary "office" space is tiny and exposed to all the noise of the lobby, but clean and neat. Free Continental breakfast. Small dog friendly, with a fairly modest $25 surcharge; spacious dog run out back. My only real complaints about our room involved the acoustics, which seemed to amplify hallway noise; and a TV remote whose volume button seemed to have a life of its own. This is a great place to know about if you're headed to MSU for a game or have other business in greater Lansing but want to avoid the traffic and sketchier neighborhoods in the city...very convenient. This was one of the only hotels available for MSU move in dates, so I booked it based on price, free breakfast, free wifi, and the decor of the room. The location is in the middle of what appears to be nowhere. And G-d help me if I have to go back there; however the place was everything it advertised it would be. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, the curtains closed completely, the breakfast was edible and the staff was pleasant. There were some infants howling for an hour in a neighboring room that I could hear faintly, but they weren't my problem, my son is a freshman in college now, I have different issues. Not a destination, however if you don't want to "sleep in" a cornfield try this place. read more

This is a great hotel. It was normal priced. No elevator though. The breakfast could have better. The rooms are standard Sleep Inn rooms. The rooms was comfy and bed and bathroom were standard and nice. read more

Bugs. Bugs. Bugs. When we got to our room the bed skirts had stains on it and there were someones fingernails in our bed. They then switched us to another room. My brother was in a room across the hall and they had stains on their bed also. My other brother checked in to his room down the hall and found bed bugs in their room. When we tried to complain and vet our rooms refunded the manager happened to have just left to a conference on an Saturday!??????? Very rude front desk clerk and very nasty hotel. The lights in the room were all fluorescent and the rooms were very small. Any time some one walked past my room talking I could hear them as if they were in the room. Not a good value for the money . read more

The walls were extremely thin, and the 'Non-Smoking' room reeked of cigarettes. They switched us to a different room, and while it smelled less like cigarettes.. the AC in the room didn't work. read more

This place is a joke and run by jokers who do not seem to understand how important special days, like a wedding, could be to a whole family. My friend was getting married in near by Bannister. This Sleep Inn was the closest and we thought it would suffice with respect to clean affordable rooms. The rooms were fine, the management of the hotel was the problem. I and my friend had secured discount rates months in advance, which were ignored when our guests checked in. The parents of the groom lost their room reservation because they weren't able to check in until after the rehearsal dinner. The bride had reserved a certain type of room for the photographer months in advance; when he got there, it was the wrong room. It was upsetting to see the mother of the groom crying at the front desk-- this hotel's management nearly ruined the weekend. We arrived in the halls smelled musty. Went in the room and it smelled like it had been smoked in before. Stay 2 nights- Internet was impossible to get which made it very hard for me. The not so funny part of this review is our son and daughter in law got married on June 21, 2014. The reception hall was across the parking lot. What could be easier? We filled every room in this place with friends and family. I'm not a big fan of budget hotels like this one in the "Choice" chain of hotels to start with but though it was only for two nights. What could go wrong? We check in on Friday afternoon 6/20/14. Immediately my wife called the desk and had them replace the filthy blankets on the beds. We unpacked and headed out for the evening Shortly after we returned we discovered the toilet was plugged from the previous people that stayed in the room. Okay... ya think no big deal, call the desk and they will get someone up to fix the problem. NO. I went to the desk where the desk clerk proceeds to tell me to use the toilet in the lobby. When I tell her this is unacceptable, she'll need to call a plumber or a manager to get this fixed, or move me to another room. She says no and that they are all booked up. Eventually a new desk clerk checks on late that night and my wife refused to leave the front desk until they fixed the toilet. He finally relented and came to the room with a plunger around midnight. When my wife answered the door he was verbally aggressive and began to give her a lesson in plunging a toilet.... until he realized she was not alone in the room. He shut up real quick and cleared the toilet. Good for him, because he would have looked funny wearing it as a hat if he kept on with his insulting rhetoric. The next morning the power went out. We left immediately because the room was getting hot. When I went into the hallway it was pitch black. The emergency lights were off! When I confronted the manager (Mike Patel) on Sunday about the trouble we had and the fire code violations he was very rude and just blew me off. I asked for a refund on the room for the first day for the aggravation and time spent pleading with the desk to get our toilet unplugged. His response was, did they offer you a plunger? Really??? I'm giving you over one hundred dollars for the room and you want me to unplug the toilet from the last persons visit??? My only response was are you F#&$ing nuts. So, my only resort is to dispute the charges on my CC. They frown on this. Oh ya and for those you that still think it would be okay to stay here, I'll call the Fire Marshall on Monday and report that little fire code violation. read more
