I highly recommend you find a job outside of hospitality...I'll start from the beginning of our terrible experience with this worker. We were not aware you need an actual key to exit the parking garage. I was using my phone as a key. Your phone won't open the gate. My husband ran into the lobby to grab a key, and was met with instant attitude. Programming a key is hard work I guess...let's go to Saturday morning. The hotel puts on a beautiful breakfast. My sister in law wanted iced coffee, so she brought a hotel provided cup to the bar and asked for ice. Again, was met with an attitude from the same worker. Was told she can get ice on floors 2,4, and 6. Again, i guess giving a guest some ice is rough work. Sunday she made sure to bring her own bucket of ice down to breakfast. Now let's go to the bar. My in laws went to the bar and asked for a manhattan. Guess who's bartending? Little miss attitude! Instead of nicely explaining the cocktails are premade, and they don't have manhattans, she went on a rant about how she's supposed to run the front desk, make food, and drinks, and coffee, and do it all herself. In my opinion, this lady should not be the face of your hotel. Doing her job is too much to ask from her. She ruined our experience, and next time we come to Lansing, we will look for a different hotel where we don't feel like a nuisance to someone that's supposed to be hospitable to your guests. I think they had a soccer team staying so all the players were there but the staff was working hard to make sure the food and plates and such were stocked up. The only inconvenience was that 1 elevator was working so it took some Time to wait on it. They do have stairs but depending on what floor your are On and how much luggage you have that may not be feasible for you. So just have a little Extra patience and you will be fine. Their generator lasted for about one hour with little power then everything got dark. No flashlights, no reassurances- nothing. When I asked to be comped for the night, they flat out refused saying they had no control over the situation. They should have had a generator that worked for many hours not one hour. They should have had the management team there the moment the lights went out at 5:30 instead of waltzing in 4 hours later! People in the hotel should have been treated properly for such an emergency. This is not a place you want to stay at- no concern for their guests, no amenities, terrible breakfast, poor location and a staff of one person for a shift that had a serious emergency.

Got to the hotel and up to our room and the room was not fully cleaned. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, and finger prints on the stainless steel refrigerator. The worst thing was the floors - the grout is BLACK throughout the hotel. Absolutely filthy. You can see some parts up against the trim and in corners where it is a light gray and what the color should be. There were also visible stains on the carpet in our room. Tried to get the dishwasher going and couldn't do so. Ended up having to call maintenance who then had to call someone else. Our room was poorly stocked. No sponge, no extra toilet paper, no extra dishwasher detergent, no shampoo or body wash in the shower dispensers. At one point during our stay our kid got sick on one of the beds. We stripped the sheets and called housekeeping. They arrived quickly but when I asked for new towels we were told they don't have any more. I still don't understand how that is possible at a hotel. We traveled with small children and many of the kids channels on the tv did not work due to "no internet access". Chrome cast also didn't work. One of the two tv remotes was out of batteries. You really can just see the half hearted attempted to keep the place running. And possibly what they did to finish building. A family member stayed at the same hotel in a different room and she had a different shower head than us which had no water pressure. The furniture is bolted to the walls with L brackets secured to the outside of the furniture and the wall. We all showered and washed everything that was in the hotel as soon as we got home. Spare yourself and find a different hotel.

Parking can be a bit of a challenge during peak periods when the valets get busy, but I've found that they are more than happy to give you your keys and point you to your car down the block if the wait is too long. The rooms are simply gorgeous, with so many little details like the local zip codes on the bureau. It really feels like someone who knows East Lansing carefully curated each piece for the rooms. There is a great restaurant and coffee shop on site and literally everything you could want within a short walk in downtown EL, including a Biggby Coffee next door. The overall value is extraordinary - for comparison, pricing is comparable or less than the Hampton Inn five minutes away but a FAR more stylish and upscale experience.

I used the gym which small but was an adequate size to get an upper body workout in and after I finished, I headed over to the the free breakfast. I got yogurt, eggs and water. But they had sausage, pancakes, bagels, bread, oatmeal, etc. Overal, the place was good enough for a quick stay, staff was friendly, and newer location.
