First of all, this was 10 years ago and I had just gotten out of the hospital and I was on oxygen and diuretics. Asked them if they had O2 and they said yes so I only brought 1 tank which was used up the first hour prepping the electrodes. I asked for O2 and tech said no, not till the test starts! The bathroom was out the back door and down an alley which was spooky enough. I collapsed once coming back without my O2. I was so uncomfortable that I tossed and turned all night. She put a cpap on me around 4am and I fell right asleep. She woke me up 30 minutes later saying test was over. She wouldn't let me leave till I turned in a review. Never got the results, they wanted me back to re-test! Uhh no way Jose. Do not recommend. Find another place and take the testing machine home to sleep. read more

Wish I had read the reiews and gone to Kona! (Although I can't vouch for that facility but I assume it has to be better.) The Hilo facility feels like you are in someone's basement, dim and dingy, and furnished with old garage sale furniture (as noted in another review). The bathrooms lare basically high school stalls from the 50's and have no not water, which is a problem considering that's what it takes to get the gunk from the electrodes out of your hair and off you skin. The person on the phone had told me there was a shower but there was not so I was unable to go directly to work in the morning as planned. Alghough he eventually warmed up and seemed very efficient, the tech guy initially made zero eye contact which added to the creepy vibe. I really wanted to leave but had already invested my time and energy so I stayed. I will say the bed seemed fresh and clean, but the experience as a whole was skeevy and creepy. read more

Person answering the phone did not get forms to me so I was almost denied my telehealth appointment which they changed at the last minute. Once my sleep study got scheduled. I went there and encountered a very rude tech named Rafael. I've forgotten my flex card and he Told me I may be responsible for the whole visit because of that and conditionally was going to let me stay, but then kept asking me rudely if I was gonna get my payment in and finally due to my annoyance and saying yes, I could handle that he canceled my appointment for that night. He refused to have a supervisor talk to me and said someone would reach out, but no one did but instead threaten to have the police remove me. I will not be going there to get my sleep study at all as this man was a very condescending and I would not let him care for me at all. During my pre-appointment the provider was fine but again the support staff is seriously lacking. I also have concerns about leaving my expensive vehicle on the street in hilo overnight in that area. But most of my concern comes for the ill treatment I received and poor customer service from Rafael, the tech. luckily, I have a choice in where I go for care and will be flying to Oahu to get my study. I am also a healthcare provider so I will be advising others to be wary.. read more

Tried explaining the situation to the Receptionist and she just oh I'm just going to transfer you to our other office..She had just push me off on someone else only to get a not available answering machine..Crappy service.. Got my cpap machine 2 days ago and already feeling the difference. Decrease daily fatigue, better concentration. Kaailee helped me go through the whole insurance process. She provided so much information on products and how to used them. She provided info on selected the best mask for my needs and the care of my cpap machine. She sized my headgear and taught me how to get in and out of my headgear. I highly recommend them. read more

Their phones have not worked since December 2022 when I became a patient. I advised staff and doctor. When you call a recording comes on and then you get disconnected. No option to get an operator. Had to call the Kona office to get transferred. In addition I was approved for a titration study in early January but was never called to schedule the study until I went to the office on February 15th since the phones still were not working. left numerous messages for Crystal Hust to complain with never a return call. So thankful my primary care physician recommended I visit Sleep Center Hawaii for a sleep assessment. After almost 10 years of not being able to change or upgrade my machine I would finally be getting the help I desperately needed. My visit was scheduled by Tristyn who was friendly and knowledgeable. She answered all of my questions and helped to get me scheduled right away. Because my last sleep assessment was so long ago and left me with a bad impression I wasn't sure what to expect when I got there. When I arrived they made me feel at ease. The room was warm (not cold or clinical) and the machine I was set up with was very comfortable. It was my best sleep in a long time. I have been going to the Sleep Center since I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. Kaailee Pacatang, and everyone else that works for this organization, has treated me in a very professional way. I was originally scheduled for an appt two years ago. But they had a computer issue and lost all the info. I called back and asked why they never called me back and didn't even know who I was and I had to go to the doctor again to get another referral. Finally, in June 2019 I was able to meet with them. Four weeks later Mid July I had a sleep study which went well. The problem is with there office workers. I called July 29th to see when I when would get my machine and they said my insurance did not send anything yet. I called my Insurance on august 7th and said they sent everything over on August 6th, 2019. I called back the Sleep Center and they said they would check. Two weeks later August 16th I called back and she said the same thing, nothing from my insurance and she would call my insurance and call me back before the end of the day. She forgot to call me back and I called before they closed and she still didn't check with them. I told her it has been 6 weeks since my sleep study and that I will buy my own machine and need a prescription. She said my prescription is the sleep report. Instead of helping me she was glad to get me out of her and just buy my own. She promised two times she would call my insurance and call me back but weeks went by. Bad customer service. You are better off doing a home study and buying a machine from Walmart online since they do not require a prescription. read more
