You feel like you're hanging out with friends and then all of a sudden you end up with an end product that you might have thought you'd need a critical and disciplined instructor to create. Nay! You can have fun learning to create and also be quite surprised at what you're capable of at The Make Den. I have done their macrame and leather fundamentals class, and was actually kind of drunk for the macrame class (wine was provided for my group due to the occasion) and still created a work of art. The format of their classes are great too, chunking up classes and projects. It flows nicely and you walk away feeling accomplished with lots of goods to show off. However, we are very disappointed with the service we received from the receptionists. After the third class, the receptionists asked us to change the class time to accommodate another student who wants to extend her class time from 30 to 45 minutes. When we declined the request, they continued to pressure us saying the other parent brings in more business with two kids and longer class times. After we reminded them about what we agreed to, they finally let us keep our time slot. However, we don't feel they valued our business and will consider going elsewhere.

The first class moves slowly to give students plenty of time to practice each step. I was pleasantly surprised to find I still remembered what I learned week after week. Main drawback is that cost of materials for each project is extra. I bought materials from Make Den directly (decent fabric selection) and it cost about $15 each project.
