I've never been a big seafood guy but I just can't stay away from this place! Great food, fair prices, good service, and it feels as fresh as anything I had in Portland or San Diego, near the coast. Great atmosphere that makes me feel like I've taken a trip out of Utah, at least for a little bit. I usually get the Ultimate Fish Taco, but I have tried and enjoyed other dishes as well. Four for fabulous service. The food was meh today. I don't know what it was with the grilled shrimp but something was off-putting. I love grilled shrimp, so I know what it's supposed to taste like, and theirs wasn't it. If you go, stick with the unique classics-- the fried shrimp roll with awesome sauce and chowder fries. Cannot go wrong with those option. The fried pickles was a new item for me and the batter is lights and yum! I only would prefer the pickles to be sliced thinner for a more equal pickle to batter ratio. I'm all about equality. ;) read more

I really want to like this place, I really do but I struggle. I love seafood and good fresh seafood is hard to come by in Utah, especially Utah county. Something about being not near the ocean probably has something to do with that, so I really wanted a fresh fish option in my backyard. I miss having access to it regularly. Sadly it is just ok. I've been two times. I have had the lobster roll and clam chowder and chowder fries on one visit and the fish (one battered and fried and one grilled) and chips with a spicy fish appetizer on another visit. My wife and daughter have ordered various other items on our two visits. The biggest problem I have is that the food quality and prices are mismatched. The food is just ok but the prices are quite high. I would be fine with this place if the food were a higher quality to match the price, or if the prices were lower to match the slightly above fast food quality of the food. It's not that I'm cheap and don't like spending money on a good meal as I have no problem spending money on good food. Just the price/quality mismatch is too noticeable here. Ambiance is nice. I've been wanting to try slapfish for months so once I got the chance I didn't let it go to waste! I ordered the Chowder fries, Ultimate Fish Tacos, Lobster taquitos, and the clobster sandwich. I really enjoyed the ultimate fish taco the fish was seasoned perfectly and it was massive definitely would recommend it. Also the clobster was stuffed full of lobster and crab and was very tasty aswell. Now the bad news I really wanted to love the lobster taquitos it just sounds so amazing in theory but I wasn't impressed the taquitos were somewhat soggy from the sauces and juice not the crunch that you'd love to get from a taquito. Then there was the Chowder fries, sure it was loaded with bacon and who doesn't love bacon? But they are chowder fries right? Where's all the chowder? Ours were definitely skimping in that category and they would have been great if it had the appropriate amount All in all a happy experience and I'll be back to try the few items I didn't get the chance to upon my first visit. read more

First visit. Got the lobster roll. It was yummy but kind of pricey. They are "market price" on the menu but just wasn't expecting it to be that much even though there was quite a bit of lobster. The fries that came with the roll were seasoned and the fry sauce was Delish. It also came with a dill pickle spear. I also ordered the clam chowder which was heavy on the bacon and potatoes and not so much the clam. They have a Boylan soda machine which is yummy soda made with pure cane sugar instead of HFCS. We tried all of the flavors. They were all good. My sister got the fish and chips sandwich which looked good and she enjoyed. The restrooms were clean and they were playing good music. Unbelievable. After leaving Anstruther, Scotland, I thought I'd have to settle for mediocre fish and chips wherever I go..... UNTIL today when I visited slapfish today, for lunch. The fried batter was amazingly light, crispy and the fish was really fresh with a whole bunch of fries. When I took my first bite, I was speechless and quickly ushered my husband to take a bite of the fish and he too LOVED it. It was heavenly. We also ordered the lobster roll, it was good, wish there was more mayo but we both preferred the fish and chips. Single (one piece) was big enough for me. Can't wait to visit the one in Sandy next time since we frequent there more often than Lehi. Hopefully one opens in Salt Lake too and we will make it our regular eat out places! read more

I've never been more excited to write a review. I am still drooling over the dinner I ate an hour ago here. If you haven't tried this place then get your butt over there!!! I've been to Boston and tired multiple lobster rolls since I'm one of those stupid foodies who only eats the food a city is know for. THE SLAPFISH LOBSTER ROLL BLOWS ALL OF THEM OUT OF THW WATER. She told me about a seafood grilled cheese and I thought "what a better way to ruin the taste of the real star," so I just went lobster roll all the way. The roll was $25 which is kind of high for a roll that isn't fresh or "authentic," but I though what the hell good food isn't cheap. I made the smart decision to trade my fries out for fried pickles. I recommend you do the same if you're down for the best fried pickles you've ever had. The food came out and the presentation was enough to give them 5 stars. The lobster roll was perfectly stacked and the fried pickles even had pickled garnish on it. I'm getting sick of writing so I'm going to wrap this up. The lobster roll was the best I've ever had. In Boston I supposedly had the "best" Boston had to offer, but good luck beating Slapfish. The lobster was surprisingly fresh tasting and cooked perfectly. My first ever lobster roll and it was amazing! I love the grilled roll they load up with fresh, tender, flaky lobster. It melts in your mouth. The clam chowder was define. Yay there's more seafood in Utah County now! Been waiting for Slapfish to open its doors and it did not disappoint! I spent a long time reading every single review, combing through every pic posted, to learn EXACTLY what was worth ordering and what wasn't. We showed up with a big group for a birthday dinner. It was crowded and there were no tables big enough for a group bigger than 6. So we improvised and moved tables outside. The staff didn't seem to mind and were friendly to us regardless of our imposition. The line to order did not take too long. The cashier was nice to explain everything and offer legit recommendations. We came up with Chowder fries, Clobster grilled cheese, Lobster taquitos, and Lobster roll. The chowder fries were OK, I would've preferred more toppings and flavor. I think I'll just try straight chowder next time. The Clobster grilled cheese was good but I think I expected more lobster and got more crab and it put a damper on my taste for it. I LOVED the lobster taquitos. Idk, it wasn't like it was stuffed with lobster or was like SO innovative. But something about it made me fall in love. Finally, the lobster roll. Some say it's too small, some say it's overrated. For Non-Avid Yelpers (wind chill factor) Lobster Burger - the burger was well-cooked at a little above medium and was juicy and flavorful. There was a giant glob of lobster, and the garlic pepper sauce I put it was a nice addition. Coleslaw - More vinegar based than mayonnaise, which is fine. Great portion size for 4$ but wasn't my favorite coleslaw, wasn't my least favorite. Fries - They were yummy don't know if they're house made or frozen... but I couldn't tell, which means they were good with some yummy spicy sauce on top. For Avid Yelpers (a scarf to protect you from wind chill factor) Guess who doesn't like seafood at all? Me. In the words of Jimmy G (Gaffigan), "How do you know when fish goes bad? It smells like fish either way! 'Hey this smells like a dumpster, let's eat it!" I did not pay for this meal, because I would never pay money for a place that has one non fish based dish. And you guessed it... also one of the most expensive things on the menu. I was too scared to ask for no lobster and still have to pay, I think 16$ for the burger. The burger was good and I have no complaints about it but... this is for sure not a place for me, if you love fish, I bet this place is awesome. For you. Coleslaw was good with little flavor bites here and there and I am not sure what was everything in it. The fries were good and everybody could be happy with some fries. The coolest thing was they have an enormous selection of sauces that you can use. That is probably what I enjoyed the most, just trying different sauces on the chips we ordered. Love Slapfish but had not been in probably 10 months. Saw that they had rebranded and changed the menu and the dishes. Felt like the quality, uniqueness and the tastiness of the food has gone way down. My buddy and I both mentioned it seemed like they were under new management where squeezing every dollar out of the place was the primary goal instead of the past great food and great customer experience. If you want to drive to Lehi to stand in line for 30 minutes and eat your food standing, then you should totally go for dinner. You'll find Utah county's finest saving tables for their enormous families that haven't arrived or ordered their food yet. You'll also be spending quite a bit for small portions - which is understandable for seafood. I'm happy to pay up for fresh lobster and crab, but I'm not sure if this place is worth it for me. The lobster roll was very good, but the crab and lobster grilled cheese was lacking a ton. I'm pretty certain it was made with imitation crab from the way it tasted and pulled apart. The bread to filling ratio was off. I hardly had any melted cheese and there was too much of that sauce on top... but perhaps I just had a bad sandwich assembler because other pictures look better than mine. I generally try not to give out five stars, because, as someone who is reading the reviews, I feel like people are just shilling for the company. This is a chain, and it's in the ever growing Lehi area (Some of this seems to have just popped up overnight.) So, I was prepared for something on the side of hipsters-ish. On that point, I was not disappointed. We had to wait a long time to get in line, and when we finally made it to the front, I asked for the Market Price of the Lobster. It was high, so I decided to go with the Grinder (though, I've heard the grilled cheese sandwich is to die for). My group also got some fried pickles and chowder. When we got the food, it was amazing. The pickles were crisp, the fries were flavorful. The grinder? I was getting asked by the people in the line what it was that I was eating. The presentation was spot on, and once I started to eat it, the grinder was mouth watering. My wife and I were sitting, having been sated by all this food, and one of the employees came up and was talking to us, and we found out he was the franchisee. My wife let him know that it was my birthday, and he took care of us. I plan on coming to SlapFish when I'm back in the Lehi area. read more

My lobster roll was worth the tariff. Well done. It's prepared traditionally and didn't have a bunch of binder in it. It was all lobster. I won't be getting it all the time, but it's nice to know it's there. The fish and chips my friends had looked good, and the small piece I tried was well cooked and good. I was in town on business and looking for a restaurant near the hotel when I found this place. Boy was I surprised to find such an extensive selection of fish and other seafood. There is a list of international fish options that can be added to any dish. The decor was the typical nautical theme but the place was very clean. It wasn't too crowded either. I checked in on Yelp to get the complimentary lobster taquitos. I'm a Texan so I enjoy a good taquito but this what not it. I prefer my lobster unadulterated. I ordered the traditional lobster roll with fries. The lobster roll was perfection....toasted bread, sweet lobster meat tossed in butter. I'm drooling just thinking about it. The fries were good too. It isn't bad but just isn't worth the high prices. The ceviche is bland, no taste. The oversized taco is a great size but too dry. They need to add more sauce to it.
