BEST TATTOO SHOP IN SB/VENTURA! Went to this shop after researching basically all shops from Santa Barbara to Ventura. They have the best reviews and I can see why. The shop is clean and professional, and the artists were super down-to-earth; no pretentious vibes. Felt totally welcome here. Their prices are also without a doubt the most reasonable. Unlike other places I got quotes from, here I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of on pricing just because it's Santa Barbara. Enrique (@enriqueillustrates) tattooed me. I got the text "AMOR FATI" in black Times New Roman on my left arm. (Full phrase was 6" long; 1" in height; 1mm in thickness/boldness of letters.) If you're looking for text, go to Enrique -- but honestly, I'd say go to him for anything. His line work and shading were so clean! My go-to tattoo artist from now on. Another artist named Brenno (@ressarectink) was also super kind and helpful. The shop is on Instagram under @slang1ng1nk. Such good vibes from this place. 10 OUT OF 10 IN ALL THE WAYS! (P.S. Got my nose pierced. The dude didn't tell me how to take care of it but to be fair I told him I had already gotten my nose pierced before so I know how to care for it. Definitely ask how to care for it and your research if you don't know how to care for piercings. They were friendly and it was very affordable. Major plus is they are open late. I'll have to go back to get more piercing. Bring cash. There is plenty of street parking. read more

First off, I hardly ever post reviews but I have to share my experience at Slanging Ink. About 5-6 months ago the owner tattooed my first tattoo, a Phoenix on my ribcage. He was calm, diligent and understanding of what I wanted. It came out beautiful and clean On Friday I received my third tattoo, a red hot chili peppers lyric by Brenno at Slanging ink. Brenno gave some of the best customer service I've had in my life. He took around 90 minutes to prepare my image stencil exactly; the ideal size in proportion to my body, the placement of the birds, and was determined to find the exact Navy blue I invisioned for the birds. He didn't half-ass anything during the preparation or just grab any navy blue. He researched birds online to find the most simple one (I wanted simple). He made my vision come to my life. The actual ink only took 24 minutes because he is quick. He was warm and had a great personality. I will specifically go back to Brenno for any future tattooing. We went in super last minute, we were in town for just a few days and my cousin, sister, and I wanted matching tats. They had us come in and gave us a good deal. We tried to get the same thing done at Golden Eagle and they wanted to charge us twice the price for the same tattoo. Don't fall for the main street glamour of tattoo shops when there's great places like this that can get what you want done fairly. I haven't gotten any work done here but after seeing my three friends get tattoos, I just might. Slanging Ink just really went out of their way to make getting a tattoo a great experience. Not only did they let us come in on a day of the week they're normally closed, they offered us an amazing group discount. Mogli (and let's be honest, who wouldn't want to get a tattoo done by the kid from The Jungle Book!) does great work, he extremely sweet, and very receptive. You can just tell he wants to give people great tattoos for the sake of loving what he does. He even offers free touch-ups on any of his work if you ever need it. On the more practical side, everything is very sanitary. Gloves, alcohol (of the sanitizing variety), brand new needle right out of the packaging, the works. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants an intimate, friendly, and just plain fun tattooing experience. read more
