We wanted to ride at night to see the lights on the Falls. It was a rainy kind of day but it was still nice out. We bought tickets at the kiosk there were some other options for other places on Clifton Hill. We opted to just get a ticket for the Wheel. There was a bit of a line, but the wait was minimal. The nice thing with it being a little busy, they still let you just be with your party. They didn't mix others in your pod for the ride. It is a climate control so you won't be cold or hot depending on the day. The view is great but on a rainy day I couldn't get any great pictures of the falls even though we would see them. Great experience for anyone young or old. And you get to see all of clifton hill as well. read more

The SkyWheel is Canada's largest observation wheel towering 175 feet. We purchased our ticket in the booth out front of the attraction. There was not a line. Then proceeded to the SkyWheel where we boarded a climate controlled glass enclosed gondola. We got to ride 3-4 times around and experienced breathtaking views of the Horseshoe and American Falls. We were able to easily board and unboard the gondola and there were comfortable seats during the ride. There are some obstructions to the view because of the design of the gondola, but overall great view and experience. read more

When I was planning my trip to Niagara, I knew that a ride on the ferris wheel was a must do for the views alone. I bought a ticket at the kiosk and it being off season I only waited a few minutes before I was asked to hop on. You are given your own pod and aren't asked to share with strangers, so that was a plus in my book. The ride lasted almost 15 minutes which was plenty of time for pictures, videos, and to sit back and enjoy the ride. The pictures I took did not come out very clear do to the glass being a bit dingy with water spots from recent rains. I felt safe and secure on the ride. I did see a button that could be used to communicate with the operators if necessary and I do believe there were cameras that they could use to keep an eye on the riders. read more

I was pleasantly surprised that this ride was so good! The ride cost $15 per person and the cabinet fits four. There are excellent views of the Niagara falls and the surrounding city, we caught our cabin right before sunset so we had spectacular views. The cabin is conditioned and clean and the staff were super friendly. You go to the top 5 times and stay there for a minute or two before going back down and the ride last between 15-20 minutes. In many ways this ride is much better than the one we have in Orlando at ICON park. The smaller cabinet makes it more intimate if your on a date, the ride goes to the top more than once, and of course the view of Niagara falls can't be beat. I recommend buying the Fun pass so you can go on more rides at a discounted rate but if you have the choice of going on one ride this one should be it. read more

To ride the ferris wheel cost $15 or you can get the package deal for $40 and that includes five other fun things to do like the wax museum and the putt putt golf. Each cart fits about four people. We had three in our party and was able to have one to ourselves. It went around about six times or about 15 minutes. This gives a great view of the Falls and also Clifton Hill. We got on just before sunset and was able to catch a few good photos. We have one here in Florida called the Orlando eye it is about 400 ft tall and cost about $90 million to build. The biggest Ferris wheel in United States is in Las Vegas ..the High Roller coming in at 550 feet tall and a cost of $300 million! Make sure you check it out if you're in the area. read more

The line goes by very quickly. I went on at night so I was not able to see far but was able to see all the holiday lights from high up which was enjoyable. I've been to Niagara Falls many times in the past and not sure why I haven't hit up the Clifton Hill attractions until now. This is definitely one of the highlights, Clifton Hill attractions, something you should do once. Currently the price sits at $15. Great view to the Falls. Lots of space inside each ride to fit at least 4. A better value if you get the package for $35, which includes the few other rides, mini putt, wax museum and a several coins to the arcade. You can buy it there. Even better deal is if you plan ahead and buy at Costco and get a $20 for the pass. I think the pace of the ride is good, enough rounds so you got your picture perfect shot but not too much that it gets boring. Hot tip, if you want to avoid the wait go when it first opens at 9:30am or during the day. We find that the lineup at night much longer. read more

It's something you probably need to do once in your life. If you're going for the views, I prefer the Skylon tower. If you like Ferris wheels, this is a big one. You will wait. It took us 40 minutes at 7:30 to get on. However, add 15 mins to buy tickets. They load and unload the entire wheel, add another 10-15 minutes. If you don't love being stuck in fixed positions around the wheel that long, this ride isn't for you. I'm that person so I'm reviewing based on my son's experience. Then they go around twice (a few more minutes). When we got off after 8:30 sometime, the lines were FAR longer. The area gets really crowded in that hour. I was told they go through about 500 people and hour and they are sanitizing after each person. The views are nice but the windows inside are a little cloudy and in need of cleaning. I bought a ticket online before I arrived to ensure that I'd be able to ride. I got there and went to the booth only to learn that they'd refuse to print out my tickets (that I had already purchased.) The reason was because I recently bought a new house and I have a new address. So the address on my license didn't match my ticket. So even tho I had my license, credit card, email, barcode etc, they refused to print my tickets. They asked me for my passport to verify my identity! Who carries their passport around when walking down the street?? They refused to refund my tickets at the booth. They told me to do it online. Tried to get a refund online but was not successful. You can't visit Niagara Falls without staring at the SkyWheel and going "wow" at least once. This massive Farris wheel sits in the middle of Clifton Hill and for either $10 or $30 for a Clifton Hill Value Pass (Includes a ton of other fun activities) you can see everything you could possibly want to see. My girlfriend and I came on a Tuesday since the crowds are dead and we hate waiting in lines. This Ferris wheel is actually enclosed so it could also run during the winter. Once on board, you get 3-4 loops around and get some truly amazing views of the city of Niagara Falls (well, as amazing as this could be) and Niagara Falls itself in the distance. Had no issues with the line as the wait was only for 5 mins on a late Sunday afternoon. Check some of the local magazines as My daughter and I got a $2 per person discount from one of the local free attractions magazines. We went on the SkyWheel on our last trip to Niagara Falls and had a really good experience. The ride is about 10 minutes long and they play really nice classical music in each gondola during the ride. The SkyWheel provides an excellent view of Niagara Falls and allows you to see the city lit up at night. The line looked really long but I think it took less than 30 minutes to get on the ride (they quoted us over an hour). It has a great view and if you can time it right, it would be amazing to be on the SkyWheel right at 10pm so you can watch the fireworks from the ride. It's definitely worth checking out! read more

There's a lower price for children. Experience: The wheel does 3 full rotations per ride not including 1 for loading and 1 for off loading - so expect about 5 times where you'll be at the top to take some great photos. We found the booths to be clean, the glass had minimal glare which is nice for photos. For maximum value, suggest going as Max of 2 people per booth if you can. The booth has a pre-recorded speech that gives you details of the wheel and what the view is like. You can always turn it off with a press of a button. Service: The employees running the wheel were nice enough, efficient at their job. Nothing to complain about. Unlike your typical Ferris Wheel the SkyWheel features fully enclosed gondolas, each equipped with heating and cooling for year-round comfort and enjoyment. Large UV protected, non-reflective glass reduces glare - perfect for Niagara Falls picture taking. The staff here is extremely friendly and efficient, loading six gondolas at a time - each capable of carrying up to eight passengers but don't worry about being crammed in with a bunch of strangers, no matter the number in your group they allow you to enjoy the ride alone even if you're a single rider. The ride duration varies from 12 to 15 minutes the wait time early evening during the crowded 4th of July and Canada Day holidays was about 20 - 30 minutes it's seems daytime rides are much less. I'd say it's ranks somewhere between riding the London Eye and the Coca-Cola Eye in Orlando, wait a minute it easily tops the Coca-Cola Eye, since there's actually something to see from the top here and it much cheaper. read more

This was, by far, one of the highlights from our recent trip to Niagara Falls. We purchased tickets on Groupon and used them the first day. In the daylight you can see so much detail of the Falls and their surrounding areas due to the sunlight, which may even present beautiful rainbows! I've taken a ride on this Ferris wheel a couple of times before, but holy mother was it so hot inside the cubicle. I thought I was going to get heat stroke. Me, along with my husband and three year old were literally cooking in there under the sun. And it was already 6pm, so it shouldn't have been that bad, but it was BAD. For the love of all that is holy, please increase the air conditioner in these pods. It was dangerously hot inside. I thought I was going to pass out. Other people felt the same way, so it was definitely not just us. The water was dripping from the ceiling because it was icing. Please, if you have issues with heat and whatnot, please do not ride in these pods. We were in pod #11 and pod #10 also had the people run out of there thanking sweet Jesus they were out of that pod and able to breath again. read more
