Came back yet again, but this time for the Whistle Stop. Another banger there. I didn't have much of an appetite so I chose something light and I was very happy with my order. At this rate, I'll end up trying the whole menu!

It's a tiny dive spot in Florida, but the food is always great! Usually a wait because it's so small inside, but a must stop for a unique experience. The menu is very extensive and everything is cooked from scratch.

Great hole in the wall. Don't go expecting 5 star accommodations but it has 5 star menu! The service is great, fast and friendly. Great place!

Stopped in here on my last day in FL, I have heard great things about the breakfast and had to try! Let's say what I heard was correct- the eggs were perfect and my waffle was amazing. It's definitely your whole in the wall type place, the tables were a bit sticky/not very clean and the waitress kept asking us what we ordered. But overall- yummy! I'd be back!

Skyway Jacks is legendary! You know you can always go there and get filled up with a huge menu...whether it be breakfast or lunch. It does get busy there on the weekends and can be a bit crowded inside but it's totally worth the wait. Staff always seems happy and helpful. It's a perfect pit stop on the way to Vintage Marche antique shop across the street!

Breakfast options are incredible here. I had a Greek omelette with potatoes and it was very delicious and filling! Hospitality was very nice here, the waitress was friendly and helpful.

Where else can you get a great breakfast in a kitschy, wonky, unique classic diner dive in St Pete? Who cares?! Come here for the classic fun happy egg sculpture outside! Come here for the prominent sign that says "Home of the 1 star Yelp review! For not cutting our toast diagonal!" Come here for the crazy unique coffee cups. No two are alike. Come here at 6am and see a slice of diner life in St Pete! Come here to be served by Jeannie who is on it! Fast, friendly, energetic and on it! Life is good with yummy breakfast at 6am in South St Petersburg! How do you like your toast?

Oh my skyway Jax! I can't tell you enough how much I love this place- so much so that I think I've written a review about them before, but I had to give him another one. It's always a friendly atmosphere when you walk into the spot,- a little off the beaten path so well worth the drive. My friend and I had corned beef hash, eggs over medium with potatoes and also the shrimp and grits. I've been craving both of these meals for the last 48 hours, I don't know what got into me! Skyway Jax never disappoints- the grits were cheesy and creamy and melted in my mouth the shrimp season to Southern perfection. I asked for my corned beef hash to be crispy and it was perfect even the eggs perfect temperature at medium. Bottomless cup of coffee, too - sign me up This is my go to breakfast spot in St Pete Number one Nobody better for breakfast or lunch Yum

Home of the 1 Star Yelp Review for not cutting our toast diagonally. T-shirt and Towel. I read that and had a good laugh.

Another stapler of the community. Great food and friendly nice atmosphere. We have been coming here for years. The previous owners were great and food also. The new owner had kept the same great food. Pancakes are my favorite. Moist, sweet batter (not to sweet) and no maple syrup that's not watered down to go with them. Today I enjoyed the shrimp and grits. I ordered my shrimps blackened. They were cooked perfectly. It also had tomatoes and mushrooms grilled and full of flavor. I'm a gravy person for grits so would have a liked a little more sauce to it but over all the meal was really good and a lot. So definitely a place I recommend, even if you get the toast and it's not sliced diagonally. Jeannie our waitress was very nice.

There's parking in this location. The space is very nice and homie. They are very busy every time we come but we have not experienced any wait lines as of yet. The staff is super nice and friendly. I have been here about three times now and I enjoy every time. Ofc is not perfect every time. But more times than not it is pretty good. The food is very nice. I have had a lot of issues finding a good liver and I think I found it. LIVER BREAKFAST- I love the liver here. Even if I am not a fan to the fact that they bread it. I do enjoy the liver flavor here. It is cooked perfectly. The only thing I must say is that my eggs were so raw I was scared of them. The place is nice and the overall experience was pretty good. I will keep coming back.

This place demands attention from the moment you walk in. My wife opted for eggs and bacon, while I went for the cheeseburger. We also shared a French toast, which proved to be the standout dish. Be prepared to savor every bite, as the food quality here is commendable. Service and flow are both excellent , ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Great experience with a twist!…read more Food 8.0 Vibe 8.9 Service 8.7 Overall 8.4 This place definitely has his own theme and vibe and it sticks to it. A straightforward menu gives a decent variety and the chef delivered on the flavor. We had the egg Benedict the Gudda grits, and the (not so) French toast. Overall, the food was delicious, but I was extremely disappointed with the "French toast" for some reason, the chef opted for not doing an egg/milk bath for their French toast, which to me is a grave mistake, who wants to dry French toast? This liberty could be excused, and tolerable for the sake of creativity and innovation, IF it was openly, shared on the menu, or by the server. However, this came to a COMPLETE surprise to me AFTER ordering and receiving it. I've never had DRY French toast, nor do I ever wish to again despite the tasty toppings and well executed cinnamon butter cream, it was still not an enjoyable experience, especially if you're expecting classic French toast. That said the eggs Benedict was phenomenal. The pork is perfectly cooked. The biscuits are light and fluffy. And the sauce was immaculate. The Gudda grits surprise me while not being creamy in the same way of grit, I've had in the past, these retained their grit structure, but it kind of melted in your mouth, providing that creamy texture and they add chopped bacon and a sweet I would guess type of reduction in just the right amount to balance the flavor of the Gudda. I do wish they had sausage and hash browns. But it's not that kind of place. My last complaint would be in the potatoes that come with the Benedict. Whatever other option, they have picked those get anything, but those ours came undercooked, and they refried them for us, and they still were just below average which for a place like this. I expected more. Overall, not a bad place. The coffee was phenomenal. I had a dirty Matcha, and it was perfectly executed. Prices aren't terrible for what you'd expect from downtown St Pete at a fancy place, so I was happy. Service was good and friendly. After I expressed my dissatisfaction with the French toast, the manager came over and offered his apologies and remove the item from my bill, even offered to bring us something else, and to have a beverage to go to make up for it. However, I was at the end of our mail and I was ready to get going with the rest of my day, so I said thank you and we departed. Overall, I will not come back for French toast but that eggs Benedict. I would definitely come back and try something else as well. Give it a shot. Just DONT get the French toast. If you like normal French toast.

The Wooden Rooster: Where My Morning Got Its Life Together Before I Did…read more Listen... I came here expecting "just a crepe." What I got was a full-on personality upgrade. First off--the vibe. Somehow it's better than Kraft (yeah I said it), but like... calmer, cooler, and not screaming at you before coffee. It's peaceful, shady, low-noise... the kind of place where you feel like you should start journaling or making better life decisions. Now let's talk food. I ordered The B.E.A.S.T. and I'm not exaggerating when I say this thing deserves its own documentary. Bacon. Pesto. Sun-dried tomatoes. Eggs. It was like every breakfast all-star showed up and said, "Let's absolutely dominate this guy's morning." Perfect balance. Crispy, creamy, savory... I took one bite and immediately forgave myself for everything I've ever done wrong. And honestly? This is a WAY better place to start your morning than the bagel place down the street. You know the one. We've all settled for it. We don't have to live like that anymore. Also--huge shoutout to the service. These people were so nice I almost asked if they wanted to come manage my personal life too. Fast, friendly, and somehow still chill. Bonus points for the menu because where else can you go from a Nutty Joe dessert crepe to a Cubano crepe to a PB&J throwback without anyone questioning your life choices? Final verdict: If you're in downtown St. Pete and not coming here, you're making your mornings unnecessarily harder than they need to be. Wooden Rooster didn't just feed me-- it emotionally supported me.
