From start to finish she has been so incredibly kind, warm, and welcoming and made something that was pretty nerve wracking feel way more comfortable and fun. We had to reschedule our flight a couple times because of getting sick and weather, but she was very accommodating. She made it her priority that we got the most fun and safe experience that she could :) She did a very good job of walking me through what to do and was really patient with me and took the time to explain parts in depth when I was unsure about someone. She allowed me to take the lead when I was feeling confident but whenever I would start to get confused or too nervous being patient and helping me through those moments. Also I appreciate her reassuring me when she could tell I was getting nervous at certain points lol helped me feel a lot calmer. The entire time she always made sure we felt completely safe with her. This was something that's been on my bucket list for a really long time and it did not disappoint would highly recommend both the experience itself and the instructor! Also, I'm not sure if she meant to do this, but I think the experience cured my fear heights so that was a bonus lol! Definitely would highly recommend!!! So much fun! It's a memory we'll never forget!

They said that their pilot will call. A pilot called asking about my U.S citizenship and later offered illegal schemes for exchanging flights for weed. I do not know is it a new way of scammers but I am freaking out because their pilot keeps calling and harassing me. I blocked number but I left my address, full name and phone number on their website so I am terrified. I am this close to calling police.

I had a few e-Mail conversations with Red Sky including speaking with the owner Bob. This past weekend my wife and I visited the flight school and I spoke with Laura who is the daughter of the owner. She was nice and helpful and made arrangements for me to speak with a former student and my prospective flight instructor Pete. I was so happy Red Sky quickly connected me both with their former student and flight instructor. A company that says what they will do and actually deliver are already leap years ahead of many. Pete my future flight instructor sounded great! We had a very nice phone conversation and he seems to fit my ideal profile of a teacher perfectly. In less than four years from my first flight, NCSA took me from first flight to flight instructor. It's a club, so be prepared to pitch in and help maintain the planes you own a part of. In return for that, you get great tow rates, and the mentorship of being in a club with some serious glider pilots who regularly go hundreds of miles and stay up for hours.

There are plenty of other schools that won't turn their back on you if you have an accident.

Understand that less than 20% of students actually achieve their PPL. The challenges are cost, availability of instructors and planes, weather, instructor objectives, personal availability, and other minor obstacles. Instruction quality can be both lacking or superior depending on who is teaching. If your goal is to get your PPL quickly, a flight school is a bad choice. Do some research before you decide. I didn't and I've spent over 4 years, $90K, and have had 5 instructors in pursuit of my PPL. If you're not in a rush and are just curious, it will work for you. It isn't easy and requires commitment. Get some guidance and explore the alternatives. Instructors have to complete your training and sign you off for your check ride. If they leave for better opportunities, you have to start over. At $300 and hour for rental and instructor cost, it gets expensive fast.

I kept seeing Flyers Academy ads all over advertising multi rating in 5 days, so I started looking…read moreinto getting my multi done. I called around to quite a few schools and most were booked out a month or two, which actually worked out because I still needed to finish my instrument rating. Unfortunately, after my instructor left, things kind of stalled out. I wasn't making any progress, so I called Flyers Academy and explained my situation--that I needed to get my instrument completed and wanted to move right into my multi. Omar, the owner, called me a few hours later saying we can get it done now. They were able to squeeze me in, get my instrument wrapped up, schedule a checkride, then roll right into my multi and another checkride. It was a lot of work and definitely an intense 10 days, but the entire crew was incredible. From the moment I arrived, Omar made sure I was taken care of. The operation is extremely well organized, the airplanes were clean and well maintained, and everything worked exactly as it should. The instructors genuinely care about your success and put in long days to make sure you're prepared. Most days started around 7 or 8 in the morning and went until 10 at night. I'd like to thank everyone who helped me along the way--Sam, Sunny, Mike, Dom, and especially Vivian. Vivian was an outstanding instructor and went above and beyond every day to make sure I understood everything and was fully prepared. I honestly can't say enough good things about her. Seriously, thank you again Vivian. If you're serious about getting ratings done and are willing to put in the work, I highly recommend Flyers Academy.
