Had a horrible experience at Skytop. We needed work done on our car. The transmission went out on us. It hesitated when the light turned green then wouldn't shift. We managed to limp the car home. Having been to Skytop a number of years back and happy with the service and pricing I decided to go back there even having been told by others not to and that they're very shady over there. I should have listened. We get home and I schedule an appointment for their earliest time slot which was about 5 days away. I explain what the issue was to the girl on the phone and she said basically no problem and would I need a tow? I thought I would so I said yes. Asked about the price and she gave me a tow price of $150 for only a couple miles town in town. We decided against it the day of the schedule. We get the car there. Drop it off and talk to another girl. Maybe the same one? She takes some more info and I talk about the tranny again. She takes down some notes. I then ask if they can take a look at the tire. One tire has a slow leak. She said well we can look at it but they don't do tire repair and to take it to another shop. Um... what? So whatever. We leave and she advised if they don't get to it today it will be the first one tomorrow morning. Ok fine. The next morning I receive a text message with a laughable inspection report. Regarding the transmission... "Possible transmission work needed - Take to a transmission shop." So naturally I call and question this. The girl on the phone said she can't help and quickly transferred me to the service department where another girl answered. I asked her to explain and she advised that their transmission guy left about a year ago and they no longer work on transmissions. UM SO WHY DID YOU TAKE THE CAR AND WASTE MY TIME?! Obviously at this point I'm prepping to go get the car and take it somewhere else. In the process of making those plans I get a text message from someone blaming me and telling me I was told on the initial call that they couldn't promise they could work on it but that they may have someone that could do the job.... yeah no thank you. Something's not quite right and since I was told they don't do transmission work I can't trust this. Who's this person that they may or may not know that may or may not be available for service? How is that anyway to treat a customer???? Naturally at this point I'm frustrated. So I declined and went and picked up the car. Never again with Skytop! I wouldn't have my lawnmower serviced there. read more

My Mercedes broke down on Farmington Avenue. Skytop towed her, diagnosed her and fixed her for an incredibly reasonable price! They quoted me on a full brake job, which she needs next. "Sadie" will definitely be back! Bonus: my car is a 2014, so no Apple CarPlay from the factory. I had a module added. For some unknown reason it stopped working. Skytop fixed it! Who knew that emissions are due 2 years before registration?! Yikes. Had one day to get my emissions done and this place was GREAT! From the receptionist to the technician to their clean shop, this place is top notch. I was in and out, with no appointment, in less than 15 minutes! I'd heard about this place on our local Bristol Talks page and everyone seemed very happy with their service (often above and beyond) and it's easy to see why! Did not meet promises or expectations. Charged plenty of money, took nearly a week than the vehicle was initially promised back, without any updates. It was partially already disassembled before they had the parts (there are only a dozen places to get them in this city.) Charged a lot of money, and the check engine light is still on, so it wasn't fixed. Go somewhere else for emissions checks, repairs, or anything else. read more

Big shoutout to Skytop Towing in Bristol and their crew!!! Professional, quick, and VERY knowledgeable! My pickup broke down on me on the side of the road and I called AAA. Skytop got sent the job from AAA and both the Dispatchers and the Driver reached out to me to let me know they had the call and update me on when they would be out to tow me. AAA told me 2 Hours, Skytop was there in 20 minutes!! The tow truck backed right up to me and the driver got out and came to my window and escorted me off the road and into his rig so he could load my truck. While I was waiting for the driver to load my truck, I couldn't help but notice the cleanliness of their truck!! Shiny from the inside/out. Once the driver got my truck loaded he explained that a friend of his had a similar problem with his pickup similar to mine. The driver put my truck right where I needed him to in my driveway, All I can is, WOW!! Thank you Skytop Crew and an EVEN BIGGER Thank you to Garret!!! I know people ask about the best auto repair shop in Bristol. I just wanted to share my experience with Sky Top. My mother Went there for an oil change and new tires and they lost my hubcap. Then Went on Jan 31st for emissions and next day noticed my car was hit in the back and big scratch on back bumper as well. Called several times regarding the matter and now they claim cameras were broken noting they can do. Won't go there again ever! Stay away. Put an engine in our Jeep. Never ran correctly - no power, stalled all the time, engine jumped all over the place. Jeep is now unusable. Brought it back many times to resolve but all they did was charge us each time for something that did not fix the problem - the bad motor which they should have known was bad. Stay away. read more

Best shop around! We started doing business with Jeremy and Rodney when they had a tiny shop at the top of wolcott road. We purchased a use vehicle from them and it was amazing. They made sure our car was all read to drive off the lot and ensured us if we had any issues they'd be happy to resolve them. We had no problems until a woman ran a stop sign hitting us and totalling our car. I suffered a broken sternum and was so stressed about everything. Jeremy stepped in and ensured us he would help as much as possible and he did. We ended upgrade the vehicle by 2 years and again the process was quick and easy. We have currently had the vehicle for 3 years and we have never had any major issues. The small things we needed done Tim and Chrissy gave a reasonable quote and made sure I'd be driving home that day. I bought a truck from them. From day one this truck had issues. They tried fixing these issues with cheap parts and for the first 3 months of me owning my truck I could not drive it because it was with them. I have had the truck for almost 2 years and have only put on 5 k miles in 2 years and now the engine is completely gone. According to my new mechanic which we picked due to their extremely high reviews my engine issue has been a hidden problem from day one before I bought the truck. Now still owing 7k on this truck I have to dump 6k to put a used engine in it to work. All I can say is stay away from this company. They are so good at making you feel warm and fuzzy and then sell you garbage. Then you are stuck with a payment and no vehicle. In fact when I traded my car in for the truck they did not even take it out or look at it to see if it was safe. I'm sure the cleaned it up and just sold it. Please take the advice stay as far away from them for buying vehicles. They have a very bad reputation with other garages in town because they are always sending these cars to them to fix. I only write this to hope this will help someone not get screwed over like I did. read more
