Given my horrible experiences with other area chains, I decided to pray and go to this location after seeing Jenteel P's review. This location is the best one, honestly. Front desk is nice and communicates like normal people, it's clean and smells nice, you don't wait forever for people to get ready. I can honestly say that Tyasia is the truth, you could fall asleep and wake up 7 minutes (!) later completely done (it is really that gentle) and it lasts. If you have coarse hair it you will not be disappointed, she knows what she is doing and is very thorough. I am grateful for Jenteel's review, and hope you will patronize the Hamden location, they know what good customer service is.

My waxer was phenomenal, made me feel so comfortable and kept me laughing the entire time! She truly is great, which is why I won't include her name. However, right when leaving I already noticed my legs felt stubbly, and now that I'm home I've noticed just how stubble covered they are, with strips of hair still present. My Brazilian feels more smooth overall, but there are multiple strips of hair left as well. Very disappointed as I definitely will have to shave again before this weekend.

I haven't gotten my nails done in a long time however I had gone quite frequently in the past to an amazing nail technician and place. One - it's very cold in there. Not too pleasant when you're sitting there for nails, and wearing fairly warm shoes. Two - the "quick dry" spray doesn't dry. Not to put your coat on isn't an option in the winter in New England. Having a place to dry your nails needs to be in place or atleast communicating to your client just sit here for x more minutes then we can check them. And lastly a smooth looking nail is expected when you pay for nails. I do my nails all the time at home the only different is that smooth finish you hope to achieve by a nail technician. The simple nail art did come out beautiful. Honestly, the salon itself is a no for me altogether with a less than average experience. I don't recommend it. I can be more specific of other issues but I honestly don't like leaving these kinds of reviews. I think the salon owner needs to pay more attention to details while there are far too many nail salons to choose from that capitalize on one of these issues. Her space is well maintained and she is nice but the five stars are for the extremely (and I mean *meticulous*) thorough Brazilian wax she gave me. I am not a stranger to waxing as I have done it for at least a decade, but she made sure no hair was left behind, using hard wax and then strips to ensure my happiness. I was thoroughly impressed. I prefer sugaring but I didn't have any of the skin rawness that sometimes happens with rushed jobs. She is on par with other waxers in the area like Tommy's. I highly recommend her.

I don't come to this area of Universal Drive that often so was not very familiar with the place and google map led me to the other side of the road and it took 4-5 minutes for me to figure out where exactly the location was. Upon entering the main entrance, there was a receptionist who helped me find the salon as there are a few salons/stores inside the building. I think they all charge a bit higher than other local salons. The place itself was super clean and I was in and out in no time. The salon is more like a small room with just one person working and she can accommodate only one customer at a time. When it comes to the service and the overall waxing experience, I found it pretty average, and would say I have got better services for much cheaper price.

Fabulous. I've now had two brow wax-and-tints, with different aestheticians (whoever happened to…read morebe available) and in both instances, though hair was certainly removed, my brows looked fuller and absolutely more organized. I feared they had perhaps put makeup on them to make them look so great but nope, it was simply a deft hand with waxing and obviously-excellent knowledge of how to appropriately tint eyebrows. They now require zero am manipulation as part of the rest of my makeup.
