Fast and convenient way to get around DFW to easily maneuver between gates and terminals in a very quick way. It is much faster than it used to be in a great way to be able to travel consistently and dependably. It's also very clean and well maintained and it's very comfortable.

What can I say? This is a very efficient transportation system between concourses at DFW. They always seem to run on time: one every minute. Signage is very clear at each stop to direct you to the right side to enter. There is always a loud, clear voice announcing the arrival and departure. Inside you can follow your progress on a map near the ceiling on both sides. Typically they are pretty clean too. My recent experiences have shown this to be true.

Skylink is a light rail train that takes passengers to each terminal at DFW. This option is for travelers who have cleared security. If you need to transfer terminals outside of security, they have a shuttle called Terminal Link. Both modes of transportation are free to use. The trains don't have much seating, but you probably won't be on it for more than a few minutes because the ride is fast. Be sure to hold on if you're standing because the track has twists and turns which may cause you to lose your balance (I have seen people nearly fall over because they weren't holding on to any of the grab bars). The train makes two stops at each terminal and if you miss a stop, simply get off and board the train in the opposite direction. It is easy and very straight forward to use. The train runs 24 hours a day and trains arrive every two minutes. If you need to kill some time, it can be a great mode of transportation to go to another terminal to eat, shop, or walk around.

Not only was I not expecting to ride Skylink; I wasn't even expecting to be traveling through Texas, let alone having a layover at DFW. We were supposed to fly from Detroit to Phoenix to San Francisco, but my attentive brother thought he heard long-delay in the Detroit gate agent's otherwise cryptic PA announcement, so he spoke to her, and soon, the three of us (including my dad) were on a plane bound for DFW. DFW is awful, but that's for another review. Part of what makes DFW awful is its stupid modular design. The terminals are too far apart. There are too many ramps within the concourses themselves. Wait, I'm not reviewing the airport here. Anyway, we were forced to use Skylink, and while there are plenty of signs that point in the direction of the stations, the stations are really really really far from some of the gates. And when you get to a station, signs very unhelpfully inform you that this train goes to these two specific lettered concourses--and to (all?) other concourses. Don't do that. On signs. Don't say a small part and also a large part that includes that small part. It's needlessly confusing. Most thinking human beings understand that all concourses include, well, all concourses, so if a person is trying to go to Concourse E, it's confusing to see a sign that reads "All A and B Gates" followed by "All Gates." The train arrived relatively quickly, but the ride itself was horrible. It accelerates way too fast, and its movement around turns is jerky and chaotic. It feels more like a poorly planned, lesser amusement-park ride than any sort of mode of transportation for people with rolling luggage, let alone seniors just trying not to fall over because there isn't enough seating and not enough time to get to the limited seating that exists. Compared to AirTrain (SFO) and even The Plane Train (ATL), Skylink is just bad.

This little diddy gets a 5 today. Max and I had gate reservations in terminal A. Then it switched to terminal B. After 15 minutes, it went back to A. Half hour later, we received notification that we were to go to terminal C. We could be directed to move again because we have 3 more hours before we board our plane. At first, we huffed it because the moving walkway was closed for maintenance. We decided we had enough at the gym and got lazy. This is a monorail that is fast moving and stops at every terminal. We will be happy to board it again if we have another gate change.

I was happy that DFW has the Skylink... in a pinch, between terminals and definitely when you're short on time, this resource will get you to the appropriate terminal. If you miss one, not to worry. There's another one just minutes behind. They have them going in opposite directions so you don't have to ride around the entirety of a loop to get to your terminal. There are two entrances per train, so, keep an eye out for which car is getting the most traffic. You don't have to enter the crowded one. Each car has poles, overhead digital signage, and temp control. Super functional, and super convenient.

A convenient way to get between terminals. Speedy train, very clean. Seems to rub like a well oiled machine.

In Atlanta (ATL), we have the Plane Train. In Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), there is Skylink. These are the trains ("people movers") that transport passengers from terminal to terminal within airports, usually inside security. Unlike ATL's Plane Train, but like other airport trains (e.g. San Francisco / SFO's AirTrain: https://www.yelp.com/biz/airtrain-san-francisco), DFW's Skylink is above ground, and elevated. Riding on DFW's Skylink, there are times you can get good, elevated views of the airport grounds. DFW is big. It's a top-five airport in the world in terms of passenger traffic. Skylink travels around the perimeter of the round-shaped terminals, so there are several curves/bends. This is in contrast to an airport train like ATL's where the rails are a straight line and the only forces you have to contend with, while inside a train car, are when the train starts and stops moving. Skylink train cars are mostly standing-room only. Since DFW's terminals have anywhere from roughly 40 to 50 gates each (big airport), Skylink conveniently has two stops per terminal. There are currently five terminals at DFW - Terminals A through E - with Terminal F planned to open in the coming years. The Skylink train stations inside each terminal are elevated, accessible via escalators and stairs. The stations I've visited have nice decor including the polished floors which have artistic designs. The stations and train cars have been clean and in good condition during my visits. I've been in full Skylink train cars and relatively empty ones. The rides have been fine. I do prefer above-ground trains to underground trains because of the views, but it's not a big deal. Ultimately, in my experience, Skylink has done a good, reliable, and efficient job at transporting me between terminals at DFW. One of the more unique airport trains I've come across in recent memory is Detroit Metropolitan Airport's Express Tram. The trains are on elevated tracks that are situated *inside* an airport terminal, providing gate to gate access intra-terminal: https://www.yelp.com/biz/express-tram-detroit.

The Skylink is a wonderful blessing. It is the one detail I missed while researching my flight. DFW is an enormous airport. It makes BWI look like a tiny speck. The Skylink drops you off in each area. Make sure you know where you need to go. Terminal D and B go in the same direction. Terminal A & C go somewhere else. I was heading for terminal D. If you are sitting, it isn't possible to safe distance on the Skylink. No one cares since everyone is gonna be in each other's laps on the plane. I was just grateful to be heading the right direction and not walking. The Skylink drops you off in the general area, close to your airline.

In the year 2020 when you can jump on a skylink, monorail, tram, trolley, or any kind of high speed cart that you fit inside, jump in! Unfortunately not all cities have funding for awesome mass transit rail systems. When at Dallas International Airport I highly recommend locating the nearby Skylink for a quick ride around the airport. The Skylink was clean and quick and takes your mind off air travel, which isn't always friendly and spacious! Great free ride Skylink, 5 stars.

SkyLink is DFW's own version of their airport train, which happens to be above the ground which I thought was a nice thing especially since you can see the views. I fly out of Terminal E for the most parts since I fly Delta, so the only reason I usually take this is if I ever need to go to The Centurion Lounge in Terminal D. And the nice part about DFW is that each terminal has its own gate unlike ATL -- so there really isn't much of a reason to ride SkyLink that much, unless you have a connecting flight. Nevertheless, my experiences on SkyLink have personally been good -- I usually fly in the morning so the train is EMPTY all the time. It takes around 5 minutes to get from Terminal E to D and back so it's a good little train to ride. You'll be able to see views of the airport if it's not dark. There's 8 seats per car and two cars per train, but the note says that it should be reserved for people who need it the most. I wish they had arriving times like ATL's Plane Train so that you know when they arrive but other than that, SkyLink was a pretty good experience!

Dallas Skylink links all terminals as well as the Grand Hyatt hotel.

Quick, efficient and convenient. Connection to all terminals and gates. Trains frequently arrive within minutes.

This skyline is full!!

If you have to get around the Dallas airport then you have to take the sky link. It is the only way to do it unless you just have all the time in the world and love to walk for miles and miles! An escalator ride to the link and then A short train ride to the terminal of your choosing... easy peasy! One hint... it goes fast and can have you tumbling... don't try to be a car surfer... hold on! You'll be glad you did. I landed in A and had to get to C and had 35 mins to make my flight... without the sky link I would have never made it! Don't try to hoof it... take the simple and fast way... then when you get where your going you'll have time to get that drink you were wanting!

Worst shuttle system ever. Poor scheduling, inconsistent, long waits. Unsafe drivers. Absolutely horrendous.

When I get off the DART at Terminal A, I just head though security there and take the Skylink to whichever terminal.

The vehicle that showed up didn't have any seat belts, and when I called to inquire they said the other vehicle was being serviced for AC. I would have liked to know earlier only because the seat belt issue was so pivotal and it put people in an uncomfortable spot trying to decide whether to pass on a really fun holiday family time or just take a risk with babies on board. This bus was also dirty from use, visible dust on seats & dust coming out of AC vents. There were several tech issues that made the day-of confusing (Google calendar invites for the ride canceling, then moving from our scheduled time from 6pm to 4pm, a different driver from the original text message, and the driver telling me tip wasn't included though I certainly had paid the 20% up front). Our driver was patient and accommodating (Melvin) to the confusion while I called the company to figure out next steps, and after the ride when I showed him I already pre-paid his tip. All in all the front end of this company was great, the back end was kind of a mess. To their credit, they did offer a full refund to me if I didn't take the ride and were apologetic. I'd go with another company if you need something super specific like seat belts and want better communication up front if things change with your ride.
