I was hoping to stay there again but it looks like they don't rent the shipping containers anymore?) This place completely lived up to my expectations. My container #9 was immaculate, with a small fridge, record player, microwave, pod-coffee maker, sink, and full bathroom with standup shower. The shower was a little small, be careful of accidentally hitting the water handle because you might make the water too hot, but it was amazing how good the shower was otherwise! Nice, hot water, good pressure. Also, the AC/Heat worked great. The view was spectacular. I let Dennis (his name was on a sign to call if problems) know that the curtain rod had come down because the end of it was missing, but I was able to put it back up. When I called, he answered right away, and he was very appreciative of the call. It's next to the Skyline drive in theater, so you can watch the movies that are playing, and also it made it easy for them to allow for free parking. Free parking in NY!! It felt safe, and I experienced no issues leaving my car overnight for 2 days. There's a door with code that you have to punch in to get into the area with all the pods/containers. And then a separate code to get into your specific container (not sure about the pods). I could not get over the views. I was staying in a hostel in Manhattan the night before for the same price which was TINY and overlooked an alley with a bunch of condensers. This glamping was so much better, and I couldn't stop looking at the views! Each container has a little sitting area, and mine was the first of them, so there were people sitting outside my container on my second night, which I didn't mind since I was already in bed but they were right under my window, so I could hear them until they left. Maybe a little fence separating the first container's sitting area from the general area would be helpful. I would definitely come back to this place. Especially want to come back with my partner, as the views are super romantic :) Also, it was in Greenpoint, which is fantastically located, tons of great restaurants (go to Oxomoco if you can, amazing food!!!).

The signs only mention towing, yet my car was immobilized with a boot and I was forced to pay immediately to have it released. This mismatch between posted rules and actual enforcement is highly misleading and unfair. Drivers are caught off guard, pressured into instant payment, and given no real opportunity to question or resolve the situation. The combination of unclear property boundaries, inconsistent signage, and forced booting creates the impression of predatory and unethical practices designed to extract money from unsuspecting drivers. I have photos and documentation of both the signage and the incident. Anyone parking here should be extremely cautious -- the rules posted do not reflect actual enforcement, and you may be subjected to stress and financial pressure unexpectedly.

The restrooms and washhouse are kept up nicely. The grounds are just a big parking lot with water and electricity. The staff were cordial and very knowledgeable about the ferries and metro. Nothing fancy, but it works well if you want to visit Manhattan while staying in your RV. It worked really well for us.

You'd pass by Nickerson Beach Campground if you're going to Nickerson Beach. They're actually the same address. On my visit there were about 6-8 RVs but I cannot say if they were occupied. I'm thinking they were because I stopped off to use their washroom and there was a cleaning person on duty. The campground looks huge but I can't say how many RVs it can hold. The End.

It was hosted by a Bangladeshi group who actually come every year for their annual picnic. And they keep coming back to the same place years after years . Which gives you all an idea how pretty, peaceful this place is. And I might add that it is very highly maintained, I appreciate all the hard work by the employees! I did got mad with people for being messy in the restrooms ! And also wish there are multiple restrooms around the area. Because I have seen people stand in line just to use it. There is enough space for it. I have also seen people were jet skewing & looked so much fun. Some of the ladies were saying there is an area where you can actually go to the water , I am looking forward to that next year ! If you live in queens , it's a place you definitely gotta visit . The campground is on three levels, with nice large lots with a fire ring and picnic table. Wifi and cable is included. The wifi connection was pretty fast, especially for a campground. The bathrooms and individual private showers are nice and clean. I did use the laundry, which was very nice, but very pricey! $2.50 to wash and $2.00 to dry. But this is New York, so I wasn't all that surprised. The Pavilion on the upper level was staffed for most of each day, and there were all kinds of activities which the kids adored. At the time we were there, our girls were the only kids in the park, and they got lots of personal attention. They made several crafts, played putt putt golf, and went on a nature hike. Even though it was pretty cool they swam in the heated pool both days (it's kept at about 82 degrees). The playground is very nice for younger kids. We were sorry that we were leaving before the holiday weekend, because there were lots of things going on for families. The staff was also helpful to us, providing us with written directions to nearby grocery stores and pharmacies, as well as directions on how to take the train into the city, which we were also able to do. The price was higher than we usually pay to camp, but the location and amenities made it worth the extra cost. We are already talking about coming back next year! Another thing that was nice about this park was that they gave me the name of a pet sitter who comes to the park, so that we could have care for our dog while we went to the city. I have never seen this at any other campground, and I really appreciated it.

The WiFi was great and the owners were very kind and helpful! Spots looked a little tight but we got in fine. Only issue we ran into was with water - the plumbing they installed is insufficient for the amount of people using the water (too small of pipe size installed underground). Due to this, the water pressure disappears during busy times of day (mornings and evenings). If you turn on your pump to supplement the water and just remember to refill the tank before leaving, you'll be fine. Overall, a great spot for a safe place to sleep.

We called a total of 3 times about this spot since it was "cash only" and the 3rd time we were informed we wouldn't be able to stay due to the spot being occupied by the previous party who had yet to leave. We were set to arrive at 4pm and were 4 hours in to a 6 hour drive and were forced to pull over on the side of the road in the rain to attempt to find last minute reservations elsewhere. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere with a little more security instead of someone who just changes their mind and doesn't have the decency to call and let people know ahead of time.

The best thing, Happy Days is only 4 miles from one of the greatest attractions in New York ....Bethel Woods, the 69' Woodstock Concert Field and the historic Woodstock Museum (which is a must see... you'll thank me later). The campgrounds are covered in pine trees, so you awake to great, fresh smelling air. It's very clean. The showers, bathrooms and rec room were immaculate. I drove my RV here, but on the premises, you can rent well restored, classical 3-wheel campers for a minimal fee and spend the night in camping luxury (and instead of my gas guzzling RV, I'll bring my car next time, instead and still save).... Tim, one of the owners, is great. From his story, he had no intention of running a campsite. He was in corporate management. He came to Happy Days as a kid. When the woman who owned the site told him, he'd have to find another place to camp next year ... the wheels went into motion. This campsite is Tim and his brother's baby and the care and the high standards they have also shows in their appreciation of their customers ... and I'm sure that comes from having originally been a customer of the campsite. Make sure you make reservations in advance, especially when Bethel Woods has a concert planned for the weekend. I was going to stay an extra day but I waited too long. Booked for the Bethel Woods concert goers.
