She took time before and after class to give us pointers and was also very available via text for questions. We'll be back in town in a few months and plan to sign up for her adolescent program. Red Hill nearly killed my cat…read more The "care" at this facility sent my loved 13 year old cat to the V.R.C.C. Emergency Hospital, starving, malnourished, dehydrated, and hanging on by a thread. Here are the facts: - Red Hill never read my cats previous medical records. - They repeatedly dismissed our urgency to diagnose and treat our cat. - They took an entire month to run basic tests (I.e. bloodwork, fecal analysis, etc.) - They placed him on a strict diet for 8 weeks which HE WAS NOT EATING and ignored his severe weight loss. (He has always been healthy at around 10-11 lbs and was 7.95 when we got to the V.R.C.C. in Englewood.) And finally, - They claimed that "the lack of doing anything to help our cat is not negligence." I would recommend to anyone considering this facility or currently being seen at this facility, to run as fast and far away as humanly possible. This place is a disgrace to veterinary care, and it is astonishing that they are still allowed to practice medicine of any kind. 1 star was an obligation as a review cannot be posted without a rating. I also want to add that I have nothing to gain personally from posting this review. My only goal is to share our terrifying experience, so hopefully nobody else EVER has to endure what we did.

Our regular boarding kennel was booked out. We found Cozy Little Kennel (CLK) on a Google search…read moreand booked a stay for our dog, Loki. We were a little concerned as this was a type of "Cold Call" and weren't sure what to expect. But after we arrived it was clear that CLK was represented accurately in its website and we felt great about leaving Loke at CLK. The outdoor play environment was perfect for Loki as he is a very active and athletic pooch. He obviously had friends and there was nearby human supervision and interaction. The indoor kennel area was clean and organized with heated floors for comfort. Loki seemed very happy when we found him upon our return. CLK may just be our "Go-To" boarding kennel for our future needs.

There's something you need to know while reading this review. I have boarded my dog at 2 places…read morebefore Rocky Mountain Pet Resort and have had horrible experiences - the first time was a kennel in Texas where my dog was knee'd across his kennel and left without food or water for over 14 hours (they had video available to owners and I actually watched mine). The second was a place, again in Texas, with very nice people but my dog was stressed and didn't eat for a whole week - when we picked him up he was emaciated, weak, and on the verge of collapsing. So you can imagine how nervous I was bringing him to another boarding kennel, no matter how competent or wonderful they SEEMED. But I HAD to board him because I was going to a wedding in Steamboat Springs and there was nowhere for him to go (I had been camping with the dog a few nights before but the night before and night of the wedding I was staying in a hotel that doesn't allow dogs). Enter Rocky Mountain Pet Resort. The drive is beautiful - that whole area of Colorado is incredibly gorgeous. You take a dirt road along the HUGE property for about a quarter mile before you get to the actual kennel. Along the dirt road I saw 4 staff members walking 4 very happy dogs on those long retractable leashes. When I pulled up to the office and went inside, everything was clean and didn't smell bad like most kennels. The lady at the desk was really nice...I think she could tell I was anxious. She brought me back to see my dog's kennel and assured me he would get plenty of exercise - with the cost of boarding they have 3 playtimes per day for the dog. They give you the option to pay extra for walks, extra playtime, and swim time. I paid for 2 walks, 2 swim times, and 2 extra play times per day so that my dog would be distracted and never get bored (he's very high energy). When I picked my dog up 2 days later, he was of course super excited to see me but wasn't trying to race out the door like he was at the other kennels, and he looked healthy and happy and well-exercised (if he doesn't get enough exercise he gets super hyper, so I know they exercised him like they said they would). He also ate most of his food, and that's a huge accomplishment because if he's stressed he won't eat. I almost cried I was so happy with them - it was like he had a nice playcation with Rocky Mountain Pet Resort instead of going to an inhumane jail like most kennels. I life about 4.5 hours away in Fountain, CO, but if I ever have to board my dog again, I will be taking him to Rocky Mountain Pet Resort. I trust that they will treat him like their own.

I did not end up using RMP because we decided to do an intensive board and train boot camp at last…read moreminute, but after several hours of research and calls with kennels throughout Summit County and Denver, and multiple calls with RMP, we would absolutely use RMP for boarding, especially challenging dogs. They seem to possess the expertise and experience, and most importantly, love, to manage difficult dogs who dont play well with others, dog and human. I know its odd to write a review without actually using RPM's facility, but i was so impressed with the time they took to educate me on their approach to dealing with difficult dogs and how devoted they are to caring for your dog like it was there own.
