The sales process was pleasant (but that's always how they get you!) and the price was very competitive. Many of the promises were kept but I had to "remind" the sales person (let's call him "Bob") repeatedly. The issues started with the actual work. The crew was supposed to arrive before 7 am and when they hadn't arrived by 8:30 I texted Bob and eventually he told me that they had an issue and couldn't come before the next day. I took the day off and got up extra early so that was very inconvenient but it happens. At night, he sent me another text that there would be another day delay. The materials and dumpster showed up randomly and without prior notice. The day of installation finally arrived but they did not get the correct skylights so they needed to come back again to replace those. The company will install roof vents for bathroom fans (which I took advantage of) but I had to "remind" Bob that he promised insulated ducts while only the standard kit was ready to be installed. Also, instead of marking the exact location of the vents from the inside of the roof, they simply estimated it and were off by a rafter so the airflow is impaired by unnecessary bends. In addition, the ducts were about twice as long as necessary and all curled up so I had to shorten them myself to optimize airflow. Overall, the actual roof replacement was done nicely (as far as I can tell) and the new roof looks beautiful. The skylights were installed a few days later and look great but the installers didn't bother taking the security tape off the blinds or even testing if everything works right. I am sure that Velux expects more of their installers. The other crew (see below) was kind enough to do that for me, as well as fill in the ~half inch gap with sealant. The other projects (performed by a different 2-man crew) included replacing some flashing above the front porch and around the garage door as well as putting up new gutters. There was a lot more rot damage than expected but I was willing to pay extra for that. Removal of one of the beams caused a big hole in the drywall inside and Bob did not offer any help for repairs just "this happens and is not covered" (I paraphrased here). The two guys, however, were extremely nice and did a fantastic job, going way beyond basic service. The gutters are great and drain well, the new flashing is wonderful. In summary, I am happy with the outcome but I wish they were more proactive and would guide customers more during the project, just like they do during the sales process. For example, Bob was on vacation the day my roof was installed and while he did respond, I was wondering why he did not simply connect me with another rep so that I don't have to bother him on his day off. I also felt like I had to remind him to remind his crew of all the items we discussed. Would I have gotten better service elsewhere? Probably not. I was most disappointed though that I gave the company time to discuss my concerns (after I already paid the bill) but Bob simply ignored me.

Bayside Exteriors, Lewes, DE replaced my roof. They did an absolutely awesome job! I had a large…read morejob (2,100 sq ft home with 6/12 roof pitch, XL 2-car garage, and a porch). They install 30 and 50 year GAF shingles. They have a high business rating with GAF, so they can offer their customers a 35-year warranty on installed GAF shingles! They came out for an estimate, went up on the roof to check it out and came down with a lot of photos, rot, black mold, holes in the boards. Because the contractor who built my garage David Carr, Homestead Contracting (BUYER BEWARE - it looks good until you find all the damage that has been done over time) did not properly attach the garage to the house, it had leaked in many places. Problems with the roof: 1) Mr. Carr never framed the garage properly for it to drain. 2) Mr. Carr NEVER installed flashing where the garage met my house. He pieced together small flashing sections on my porch because he didn't have a large enough piece. 3) Mr. Carr never installed roof vents for ventilation on the garage or my porch. 4) He butted the shingles up to the existing shingles on my house. They should have crossed over the joints. 5) It leaked everywhere where Mr. Carr attached the garage to my house. I had 2 roofing contractors tell me that the roof should have never been connected to my house the way that it was. You might think you're getting a nice-looking garage and roof, but 15 to 20 years later, when your roof needs replaced, you find out how much rot and black mold they have to remove. It is NOT worth the price you saved. Do it right in the first place. Get a REPUTABLE contractor. Bayside Exteriors gave us an estimate. They have a GAF Master Elite rating. Only 2% of the contractors achieve this rating. Their expertise in explaining everything that was done incorrectly and showing us all the rot was impressive. They had a special if you signed within 30 days you got the 35-year warranty for free, which normally cost just under $2000. If a storm blows off the shingles, they come out and fix them for free. The warranty is transferable to one buyer. They showed up with 10 men on my job. They had equipment delivered, a large dumpster, portable commode, and a dumpster that lifts up to the edge of the roof. They placed large sheets of tarp all around the house. They threw the shingles in the small dumpster as they removed them. When the small lift dumpster was full, they dumped it in the large dumpster. Another truck arrived with a tall crane-like lift which lifted the pallets of shingles up to the roof. Bayside had to use 5 boards of OSB to get rid of all the rot and mold. It was even in the walls. They had everything they needed to do a high quality job. They had a supervisor on the roof and a supervisor on the ground. They kept the yard clean so it wouldn't fly away to the neighbor's yards. Bayside Exteriors did a highly professional job. I am extremely happy with their work. I now have roof vents on the garage and porch and proper flashing. They put rubber on the roof at the back garage joint which was improperly connected to the house and had leaked so much over the years. They were done in 1 day. It all looks so much more professional than my first builder had done. I was very impressed with the workmanship of the staff and their professionalism. We bought 40 pieces of fried chicken, chips, cookies, soda, and tea for them for lunch. They were very appreciative. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this #1 company to anyone replacing a roof. I would leave 10 stars if I could. Call Bayside Exteriors. They are a step above! Their price was only $200 more than a competitor and the warranty was worth it.

It went downhill from there when I was notified that the color brown that was in my contract was no longer manufactured. This was after the he began the demolition of my existing decking and steps. I knew that was a lied and proved that by giving him a company in NJ that carried the brown railings. Promises were not kept and then he went silent, despite numerous calls, emails, and texts just as it was stated in the previous reviews. Even though Shoreline was paid, they did not complete the work. The owner ran away with my money and again I did not get my railings or completed job. Not a great feeling to put out additional monies to hire a new contractor and the purchase of railings for the third time to complete the job. Any person thinking of considering this company for any work, run the other way!
