Friendly staff and a nice country pub feel to it. A bit of dust here and there but cozy. They serve real ale, which tasted well kept. The menu is substantial with something for everyone. Annoyances were the pie is served in a pie dish on the plate just put it on the plate!; the salad is served in a bowl it is NOT a pudding put it on a plate!; the chips are frozen not fresh ok, a common thing in pubs and they were cooked nicely. The pie was lovely. Unfortunately the burger was undercooked. I don't have a problem with medium-rare meat but it was cold in the middle glad I cut it in half rather than just biting into it! Staff were however, apologetic and my burger was taken away and cooked some more before being returned in a fresh bap. My bacon & chips were re-fried to ensure they too were hot though obviously fresh ones would have been better. I was also NOT charged for the burger, which was a nice gesture. Overall we would go there again for a drink with friends and to enjoy the cozy atmosphere but I don't think we'll eat there again, as there is better value for money on the food front to be had elsewhere. read more
