I honestly have not been to a laundromat in years, so when we had to go to one to wash linens from our wedding, I had no clue what to expect. I found this one and tried it out based on the good reviews, and we were honestly blown away! The inside was so clean, spacious, and looked brand new. You can either bring your own detergent or buy it there, and they have several machines, all in varying sizes and prices. As far as payment goes, you can either pay in quarters (they have an ATM and a change converter on site) or you can use a mobile app to pay, which connects to Apple Pay. That's what we did and I found it to be super seamless. The woman working was super helpful and explained everything to us! First time using a laundromat and the woman working was very kind and gave me a quick tutorial on the machine and the app. Super clean, nice seating areas, free coffee and bottled water for patrons. Televisions playing different shows so take your pick on what to watch. Lots of space so you didn't feel crowded - I utilized it for getting in some steps while I waited for the washing machine. The laundromat itself is very nice. Clean and lots of washer size options for different size loads. BE AWARE that if you use the app for the washing machines, all the extra options (extra rinse, extended wash, etc) ARE AUTOMATICALLY ON, charging you $2 more per wash unless you manually turn each one off. Skylar, the upscale laundromat chain. I've only been to this location but it appears from looking around on here that they all look very similar with big light up sports logos, flat screen TVs and odd rustic Americana and arts and crafts stuff hung up on pristine but artificially weathered wood. They really try too hard with those cozy den thing, straddling the line between man cave and antique mall mom but whatever. I'm used to laundromats with yellowed white paint and names carved into counters and tables. And that are open all night. The respectability of this place almost makes me feel uncomfortable coming here. It is nice to have machines that aren't malfunctioning or fussy taking coins. (They have a pay app, too, but I didn't use it on either of my visits.) They do have a somewhat subpar magazine selection so that's more par for the course for laundromats I'm used to. (If they even have magazines!) Free water is an unexpected and welcome perk but doesn't really make up for the prices here. There's nothing really wrong with Skylar but give me a cheap, rundown laundromat that stays open all night for late sleeping, evening shift workers like me. read more

I came to wash a blanket. The website advertises multiple ways to pay. It required me to download an app. I got an"error" message so I asked if there was any other way to pay. Many washers and dryers available, so when it's very busy, you have a good chance of finding a machine to use. Also, you can pay for the washer/dryer through the DexterPay app, which also allows you to have the settings of load to your specifications and the app also gives updates on how long your load has to go, and reminds you of which machine you are using. Another feature I love about this laundromat is the fact of not having to carry a tons of quarters since you can pay and start the machines using the mobile app (I don't like carrying cash). This laundromat is THE BEST. As a single mom with a toddler - laundry is never easy and never done. I wish I had the name for the ladies working here, but they were awesome. Aside from continuously cleaning , the other was checking machines and taking calls. After a trip to the potty with my little one, we came back out to one of the televisions with cartoons on just for her. The little things my friend, the little things. Aside from being meticulously clean, there were comfy chairs nearby and it was very spacious, even while busy. I highly recommend this laundry facility and will most definitely be returning myself. read more

It closed and for a while and Skyler bought it ... so I started to use the new Laundromat on Cherry Hill and Inkster rd . it use to be a McDonalds.. great place.. last week I was walking by the new Skylar Laundromat on Cherry Hill in inkster and the sign out front said "OPEN SOON" so I walked down the side walk and looked into the window just to see how my old Laundromat was doing after Skyler took over it was still being worked on BUT a person inside came yelling at me to get away very very rude no respect.. this is how Skyler treats customers? WHY? I'm 72 years old with a cane I must look very treating person.. I was going to go back to my old Laundromat.. but I'll stay with the one I'm at now. Brand new equipment!! Actually, everything is brand new. Everything is super clean. The two employees at the location were quick to clean up as people were done with their laundry. I went at 7:30am and it was perfect, hardly anyone was there. They followed all Covid protocols. The only thing I didn't like about the equipment was that when you added the detergent, it went directly to the clothes. Also, if you are using bleach, you need to wait until the machine prompts you to add the bleach. Overall, I truly recommend this laundromat. read more

They do sell some laundry supples. There's a coin machine or you can pay through their phone app. The attendent was helpful and busy (not sitting on her butt using her phone). Very clean laundromat and staff assisted me, as it was my first time using their facility. There are so many washers ranging from single load to 8 load washers. Although it seems super pricey for the largest washers they cleaned clothes and my bedding well all in one load rather than my tiny apartment washers. My boyfriend and I recently moved into an apartment that only has a small washer/drier room that isn't very conducive to cleaning clothes. (There's spiders galore in there and they don't take care of the machines) so we thought we would give Skylar Laundromat a go! While the facilities are nice and clean, I was shocked at the cost of just one wash cycle. I used the mid-sized washer and it was $6.75 per load. I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for, but I didn't see my clothes being cleaner and nicer just because I paid more for the wash. We ended up taking our clothes back to the apartment laundry to dry them. Nice place! Overpriced though. read more
