The bane of my existence is laundry. It normally takes me a whole day to do it, and then once it's "done" I find it almost impossible to find the motivation/time to fold and put my laundry away. If I ever sucked at a domestic chore, it is laundry. So I decided to pay Kyle to do it for $.80 a pound. In less than 6 hours, I had clean laundry. He ironed/starched my cotton dress shirts, he organized my laundry into appropriate piles (jeans, t-shirts, tank tops...), and he bleached my whites. He then put the right things on hangers and put the folded laundry back in my giant bin. He even carried it out to the car for me. Faboooolus. read more

Thought the prices were a bit high, had to keep adding quarters to the dryer waiting for them to be done, a machine flooded while we were there, the bathroom had graffiti all over, and the employees were creepy. It did the job but don't think I'll be back. read more

Luckily, every 3 weeks I simply drop off 30 lbs of laundry to Kyle at 7am. I return at 6pm to find it perfectly folded, and all my shirts hung and wrinkle free. Any my bill is $29.70 ($.99/lb). Kyle is my hero. Once a month I drop off about 55 pounds of clothing. I weight it on a scale, smile, and leave. I return the next day to a wonderful sight. All of my clothes are folded, except for my shirts and pants, which are hung on hangers! And my socks are all paired. I can't tell you how wonderful it is. And, considering the considerable time savings, I'm totally ok with paying 80 cents a pound for this. For a little more, they will pick-up/drop-off, if you are in the area. After you pick up, you can also drive down John R to Pi's for Thai food...Yay! read more

I'm perplexed at all the five star reviews of this place. I'm new to the area, and a fiasco with Home Depot has left me without a washing machine for an uncomfortable amount of time. So, as the laundry kept piling up, I decided to suck it up and head to the laundromat. Ugh. Being the good little Yelper I am, obviously I went to the place with the best reviews that was closest to me. That's how I ended up at Kyle's. Immediately I was struck with how dingy and dirty this place felt. I'm not sure if I feel like my clothes are truly clean when washing them in such an environment. I dropped a sock on the floor when transitioning from the washer to the dryer. While it wasn't visibly soiled, one look at that nasty floor and I knew it wasn't clean anymore. Back in you go! Prices seem to be reasonable enough, ex: $5 for a triple load washer, $0.25 for 8 minutes of dryer time. But the place has certainly seen better days. I was there washing our comforter yesterday and a man walked in smoking a cigarette! Thank goodness my comforter was protected from that foul odor behind the steel door of the washer. The clothes I was wearing didn't fare as well. I was counting on the fact that the attendant would be as appalled as I was and make him put it out immediately, but it was almost as if she didn't even notice. Ick. I don't think my expectation were very high when finding a laundromat, but Kyle's doesn't provide the most conducive environment to make me feel like my clothes are clean. Two stars simply because the machines ( those that work ) will eventually get the job done. The machines that take individual quarters at a time are clearly setup to steal from users , as every time i go , they only register about half the quarters put into the machine. Always mention it , " employees " claim it has no issue , after having watched you oh so suspiciously every time. read more

I feel that Kyle really understands what it takes to run a successful business. He is friendly, easy going and knows what makes any business work! CUSTOMERS! Every time I am in there he is chatting it up with the customers and working his behind off. He has honestly given me Daddy- Daughter type advice and encouragement when I actually needed it. The women who work there with him are kind also. Once I left a really nice wicker basket there my mom had gotten me for Christmas. I just figured it was a lost cause and didn't remember where I left it since I go to different laundromats. Almost 2 months later I was in again and Kyle said "I think I have your basket maybe? I'll get it for you, I washed the lining too." You can imagine how I felt as a customer. They also have free coffee, an arcade game, liquid soap that is portioned, (for my liquid soap people), reasonable prices and a smoking/non smoking area. It sometimes feels like the 70s in there, which can be a cool thing. read more

Took 7 loads of laundry to this coin laundry and could not have had a more efficient experience. Upon arrival,the attendant was very helpful in suggesting the best washers and dryers to use for the amount of clothes I had to clean. It helped that they were not busy at the time. The washers had 4 and 2 loads which only took about 25 min and the new got my clothes completely dry within about the same time. A lot of room for for folding. Also, the place was really clean as I noticed the staff takes care of the equipment. Will definitely suggest this place for anyone in need of a coin laundry. Take note- The attendant informed me that Sunday's are typically busy so you may have to wait for some machines. Best to do laundry on the weekday anyway if you can to avoid crowds. read more

Avoid this place!!! Someone left a crayon in the washer and now half of my clothes are ruined. Also, the dryers didn't dry my clothes at all after 30+ mins- at other laundromats it's usually 20 minutes and they're bone dry. Just don't go here! read more

Always a quick experience for me. I use the 4 load washers. The dryers can take a while sometimes if you pick the wrong one, i use the same 2 dryers every time i go. Bathroom is updated and clean now. Usually not a terrible experience for me even though i generally hate going to the laundry mat. read more

This is a great laundromat. The machines always work, it's clean and the people are friendly. However, the REAL deal here is the wash and fold. Great prices and Nicole and her gang do a great job. They did my laundry for almost 1.5 years before I had to move away suddenly, and they never damaged any clothing, listened to any special requests and even would call me when my laundry was done. This is a great laundry mat. It's not the cleanest or newest place but it's ok. The washers are giant so I can do all my colors in one big wash! It's cheaper then others I have been to. I like it and will return. read more

The dryers never seem to work. It takes forever to dry my clothes. The washers are big so I can do one big load instead of two small/medium sized loads. And considering what they charge for the regular sized washer, it's better to do the oversized washer. I will look for another place to do laundry, but until I find one I will come back here. read more

They have a very friendly staff and are significantly cheaper than the competition (hp laundromat). The only reason I didn't give them five stars is they have no TV (they do have arcade games if that's your thing) and the facilities are small, but they are still the best in the area. read more

Due to a hectic work schedule and only having 3 washing machines in my apt building which are always in use. I used Kyle's drop-off laundry service for the first time. Talk about a dangerous. I have never...and I mean never folded underwear or matched socks before throwing them into a drawer. They even put my sweaters and denim on hangers. I... I... love you Kyle's Coin Laundry. I moved to Ferndale two years ago and found Kyle's via Yelp. I didn't have a washer/dryer yet and the drop off laundry sounded like a good solution until I could get around to buying machines. Two years later, I still use Kyle's once a week and haven't bought a washer or dryer. I'm spoiled now. For less than a dollar per pound of laundry they wash it, dry it, and fold or hang it (depending on what it is). Occasionally my yoga pants or a nightshirt are deemed worthy of hanging, which I find inordinately amusing. Hey, I'll take my laughs wherever I can find them. The people working there are always kind and eager to be helpful. They are hard workers in what has to be a tough business. My favorite is a girl who shares my first name. Perhaps I'm biased. Kyle sold the business to someone else who also seems very nice and it haven't noticed a change in service since. In fact, Kyle is still there many times I am dropping off or picking up my laundry. I don't have to find time to do laundry, pay for machines plus electricity, shop for detergent and softener, etc. I never expected to love drop off laundry so much but I do and will be a customer here for as long a I live in this area. Same day service if I drop it off early enough, otherwise next day. I can't review the coin laundry side of the business because I never use it. read more

I'm not sure what the other options are in the area as this was the first time I've dropped my laundry off anywhere, but I'm a little surprised at the 5 star ratings that led me here (It is now Pete's, by the way). Yeah, you come back the next day and your stuff is on hangers, but isn't that what you're paying for? The price isn't bad, but I'd pay more for someone to do a better job. I used Pete's twice, both in a pinch due to long hours at work. First off, they pretty much fry everything in the dryer. I have several long sleeve shirts and t-shirts that are unwearable after they got done with them, some were pretty nice items. I also tried to pull out most of my sweaters before hand because I didn't trust them, and for good reason it turned out. I missed two taking my laundry in the second time, and they just tossed both in the dryer. Maybe I'm being a little too needy, but if laundry is what you do shouldn't you be able to make a decision "this can't go in the dryer?" They also use a very harsh detergent, which has left most of my clothes feeling very brittle. Bottom line, if you're just dropping off around the house clothes or you're not that particular about you're clothes and their fit, this seems like a decent option. Maybe I should have known better before hand since I'm somebody who is particular, but based on the five star reviews I was under the impression they'd do a great job, which is why I felt the need to write my first review to temper the expectations a bit. read more

Kyle and his staff are great. I dropped off bedding and it was all cleaned folded and bagged! What is so great is that he, the owner, is there most of the time and he also has a staff for when he is not there. He knows every machine and reinvests in his business! read more
