The transition into our home was smooth, and he acclimated quickly. He's got a great temperament and has already become apart of our family. One thing we really appreciated was the opportunity for meet-and-greet visits before bringing our "Knox" home. Being able to spend time with him ahead of pickup showed transparency and afforded us real confidence in both Laura as the breeder and the environment the kittens are raised in. Strongly recommend to anyone considering a Maine coon! -DBJ

I drove three hours for a scheduled appointment to pick up a kitten from this breeder, and the…read moreexperience was extremely disappointing. When I arrived at the agreed time, no one answered the door or the phone. I ended up having to flag down her boyfriend when he came outside to grab a package so I could even get someone's attention. Once inside, the house was very dirty, which immediately raised concerns for me. The breeder then brought out the kitten I was supposed to take home, and it was clearly sick. Her mother admitted they already knew the kitten had not been keeping food down for about a week and a half. I had originally been scheduled to pick up the kitten earlier but had to postpone, which makes me think the kitten may have appeared healthy when I first would have picked it up and then gotten sick shortly after bringing it home. After this experience, I did more research and found multiple complaints online from people reporting ringworm coming from this cattery, which can be a huge ordeal to deal with. To be fair, the breeder did return my deposit when I declined to take the kitten, but the overall situation was extremely concerning and not what I would expect from a responsible breeder.

My wife finally got ahold of the volunteer family after several attempts and we set up a meet and greet with our pups at our home. They said she was from a breeding situation and had some difficulty when people touch her head, but she was a loving dog. When they arrived at our home the two volunteers didn't seem to want us to touch her. The younger of the two was interacting with the dog, but they kept her on a short leash and away from us as much as possible. As of they didn't want us to interact with her or wanted us to adopt her based on sight alone. When the dog did come up to us she was very loving and would like our face and try to sit in our laps, but they kept her on a short leash and away from us as much as possible. That is also when the history of the dog changed. That she jumps fences, darts to the road when walked and is selective about other dogs. Going to far to say that she attacks her own dogs and would kill cats. When our dogs did come out to meet, the volunteer kept a tight leash and after less than a minute she said her dog was going to attack ours and jerked the leash. Which I did not see, but they had only been in contact for 20 seconds. As reference, I have 5 years experience working and training volunteers as a volunteer manager in a shelter setting on how to conduct meet and greets, education on animal behavior and have conducted numerous meet and greets between adoptable dogs and potential adopters. This includes positive reinforcement training for shelter animals in order to find them forever homes easier. However, in my experience, I feel this was either a case of not wanting to adopt the dog, as they shared their desires to adopt her or poorly trained volunteer staff. As if they were looking for any excuse not to adopt to us, and quickly dismissed any further interaction. They then tried to push us towards another dog they have available on their website that has a known human bite history. They also mentioned other dogs on their website that are currently available for adoption that were "mean". I thought the pup we met was a very sweet girl from what limited interaction the volunteers allowed us, but I feel their mind was made up from the word hello. Then being pushed to other dogs with serious aggression issues made me very wary of wanting to adopt from their organization.

Our children both started school as 3 yr olds and almost instantly came home empowered, capable and endlessly curious. We love that our kids get to grow in one classroom for a 3-yr period, so they have room to learn at their own pace and also develop solid friendships. Daily practice of foundational concepts in math and language is done with beautiful materials so that learning is hands-on and abstract ideas are easily within reach. I wish I had learned math the way my kids have! This also means far less standardized testing than a traditional school, something our family appreciates. It's always a conscious choice to re-enroll our two kids each year because it is a significant portion of our budget. Still every year we agree that if money were no obstacle we wouldn't even question sending them to Milwaukee Montessori School.
